1. എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഇതൊക്കെയും കണ്ടു; എന്റെ ചെവി അതു കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. Lo, all [this] haue I seene with mine eye, heard with mine eare, and vnderstande it.

2. നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നതു ഞാനും അറിയുന്നു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെക്കാള് അധമനല്ല.

2. What ye knowe, that same do I know also, neither am I inferior vnto you.

3. സര്വ്വശക്തനോടു ഞാന് സംസാരിപ്പാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തോടു വാദിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

3. Neuerthelesse, I talke with the almightie, and my desire is to commune with God.

4. നിങ്ങളോ ഭോഷകു കെട്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നവര്; നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും പൊട്ടുവൈദ്യന്മാര് തന്നേ.

4. As for you, ye are workmaisters of lyes, and vnprofitable phisitians altogether.

5. നിങ്ങള് അശേഷം മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നാല് കൊള്ളാം; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ജ്ഞാനമായിരിക്കും.

5. Woulde God ye kept your tongue, for then might ye be taken for wise men.

6. എന്റെ ന്യായവാദം കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ വ്യവഹാരം ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിന് .

6. Now heare my reasoning, and ponder the argument of my lippes.

7. നിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി നീതികേടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നുവോ? അവന്നു വേണ്ടി വ്യാജം പറയുന്നുവോ?

7. Wyll you speake wickedlie for gods [defence] and talke deceitfully for his [cause?]

8. അവന്റെ പക്ഷം പിടിക്കുന്നുവോ? ദൈവത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി വാദിക്കുന്നുവോ?

8. Wyll ye accept the person of him? or wyll ye contende for God?

9. അവന് നിങ്ങളെ പരിശോധിച്ചാല് നന്നായി കാണുമോ? മര്ത്യനെ തോല്പിക്കുമ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള് അവനെ തോല്പിക്കുമോ?

9. Shall that helpe you when he calleth you to reckening? For as one man mocketh an other, so do ye mocke him.

10. ഗൂഢമായി മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിച്ചാല് അവന് നിങ്ങളെ ശാസിക്കും നിശ്ചയം.

10. He shall punishe you, and reproue you, if ye do secretly accept any person.

11. അവന്റെ മഹിമ നിങ്ങളെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ലയോ? അവന്റെ ഭീതി നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് വീഴുകയില്ലയോ?

11. Shall not his excellencie make you afrayde? Shall not his terrible feare fall vpon you?

12. നിങ്ങളുടെ ജ്ഞാപകവാക്യങ്ങള് ഭസ്മവാക്യങ്ങളത്രേ; നിങ്ങളുടെ കോട്ടകള് മണ്കോട്ടകള് തന്നേ.

12. Your remembraunce is lyke vnto a sparke, and your bodies lyke the claye.

13. നിങ്ങള് മണ്ടാതിരിപ്പിന് ; ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ; പിന്നെ എനിക്കു വരുന്നതു വരട്ടെ.

13. Holde your tongues for my sake, that I also may speake, and my sorowe shalbe the lesse.

14. ഞാന് എന്റെ മാംസത്തെ പല്ലുകൊണ്ടു കടിച്ചുപിടിക്കുന്നതും എന്റെ ജീവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളയുന്നതും എന്തിന്നു.

14. Wherefore do I beare my fleshe in my teeth, and put my soule in myne handes?

15. അവന് എന്നെ കൊന്നാലും ഞാന് അവനെത്തന്നേ കാത്തിരിക്കും; ഞാന് എന്റെ നടപ്പു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ തെളിയിക്കും.

15. Lo, though he slay me, yet wyl I trust in him: but I wyll reproue myne owne wayes in his sight.

16. വഷളന് അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് വരികയില്ല എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എനിക്കൊരു രക്ഷയാകും.

16. He shalbe my saluation: for there may no hypocrite come before him.

17. എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേള്പ്പിന് ; ഞാന് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവിയില് കടക്കട്ടെ;

17. Heare diligently my wordes, and ponder my sayinges with your eares.

18. ഇതാ, ഞാന് എന്റെ ന്യായങ്ങളെ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

18. Beholde, now haue I prepared my iudgement, and knowe that I shalbe founde righteous.

19. എന്നോടു വാദിപ്പാന് തുനിയുന്നതാര്? ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് മണ്ടാതിരുന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണന് വിട്ടുപോകും.

19. What is he that wyll go to lawe with me? if I now holde my tongue I dye.

20. രണ്ടു കാര്യം മാത്രം എന്നോടു ചെയ്യരുതേ; എന്നാല് ഞാന് നിന്റെ സന്നിധി വിട്ടു ഒളിക്കയില്ല.

20. Neuerthelesse, graunt me two thinges, and then wyll I not hide my selfe from thee:

21. നിന്റെ കൈ എങ്കല്നിന്നു പിന് വലിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ ഘോരത്വം എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കരുതേ.

21. Withdrawe thyne hande from me, and let not the fearefull dreade of thee make me afrayde.

22. പിന്നെ നീ വിളിച്ചാലും; ഞാന് ഉത്തരം പറയും; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് സംസാരിക്കാം; നീ ഉത്തരം അരുളേണമേ.

22. Then call, and I wyll aunswere: or let me speake, and geue me then an aunswere.

23. എന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളും പാപങ്ങളും എത്ര? എന്റെ അതിക്രമവും പാപവും എന്നെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കേണമേ.

23. How many are my misdeedes and sinnes? let me knowe my transgressions and offences.

24. തിരുമുഖം മറെച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നതും എന്നെ ശത്രുവായി വിചാരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തിന്നു?

24. Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thyne enemie?

25. പാറിപ്പോകുന്ന ഇലയെ നീ പേടിപ്പിക്കുമോ? ഉണങ്ങിയ താളടിയെ പിന്തുടരുമോ?

25. Wylt thou breake a leafe driuen to and fro, and wilt thou pursue the drye stubble?

26. കൈപ്പായുള്ളതു നീ എനിക്കു എഴുതിവെച്ചു എന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള് എന്നെ അനുഭവിക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു.

26. For thou layest sharply to my charge, and punishest me for the sinnes of my youth.

27. എന്റെ കാല് നീ ആമത്തില് ഇട്ടു; എന്റെ നടപ്പൊക്കെയും കുറിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ കാലടികളുടെ ചുറ്റും വര വരെക്കുന്നു.

27. Thou puttest my feete also in the stockes, and lokest narowly vnto all my pathes, and makest the print thereof in the heeles of my feete:

28. ഇജ്ജനം ചീഞ്ഞഴുകിയ വസ്ത്രംപോലെയും പുഴു അരിച്ച വസ്ത്രംപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

28. And I as a rotten thing do consume away, as a garment that is moth eaten.
