1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Job answered and said,

2. ഇന്നും എന്റെ സങ്കടം കൊടിയതാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ ഞരക്കത്തിന്മേല് ഭാരമാകുന്നു.

2. Today I will also speak with bitterness; my stroke is heavier than my groaning.

3. അവനെ എവിടെ കാണുമെന്നറിഞ്ഞെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ചെല്ലുമായിരുന്നു.

3. Oh, that I knew where I might find him! [That] I might come [even] to his seat!

4. ഞാന് അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്റെ ന്യായം വിവരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ന്യായവാദം കോരിച്ചൊരിയുമായിരുന്നു.

4. I would order judgment before him and fill my mouth with arguments.

5. അവന്റെ ഉത്തരം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു; അവന് എന്തു പറയുമെന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

5. I would know the words [which] he would answer me and understand what he would say unto me.

6. അവന് ബലാധിക്യത്തോടെ എന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല; അവന് എന്നെ ആദരിക്കേയുള്ളു.

6. Will he plead against me with [his] great power? No, but rather he would put it in me.

7. അവിടെ നേരുള്ളവന് അവനോടു വാദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് സദാകാലത്തേക്കും എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

7. There the righteous might dispute with him; and should I escape for ever from the one who condemns me.

8. ഞാന് കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവന് അവിടെ ഇല്ല; പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

8. Behold, I shall go to the east and not find him; and to the west, but I cannot perceive him;

9. വടക്കു അവന് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില് നോക്കീട്ടു അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ല; തെക്കോട്ടു അവന് തിരിയുന്നു; അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും.

9. if he is working to the north, I shall not see him; to the south, he hides himself, that I shall not see [him].

10. എന്നാല് ഞാന് നടക്കുന്ന വഴി അവന് അറിയുന്നു; എന്നെ ശോധന കഴിച്ചാല് ഞാന് പൊന്നുപോലെ പുറത്തു വരും.

10. But he has known the way that I take; he has tried me, and I have come forth as gold.

11. എന്റെ കാലടി അവന്റെ ചുവടു തുടര്ന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു; ഞാന് വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

11. My feet have held to his steps, I have kept his way, and have not departed.

12. ഞാന് അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ കല്പന വിട്ടു പിന്മാറീട്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ വായലിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. Neither have I separated myself from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary [food].

13. അവനോ അനന്യന് ; അവനെ തടുക്കുന്നതു ആര്? തിരുവുള്ളത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യം അവന് അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.

13. But if he determines something, who can turn him? His soul desired [it], and he did [it].

14. എനിക്കു നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു അവന് നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പലതും അവന്റെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടു.

14. Therefore, he will finish that which is necessary for me; and [there are] many such things in him.

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവന്റെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിങ്കല് ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നു; ഔര്ത്തുനോക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

15. Therefore, I shall fear before his face; I shall consider, and I shall fear him.

16. ദൈവം എനിക്കു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തി, സര്വ്വശക്തന് എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. For God has made my heart tender, and the Almighty has frightened me.

17. ഞാന് പരവശനായിരിക്കുന്നതു അന്ധകാരം നിമിത്തമല്ല, കൂരിരുട്ടു എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മൂടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമല്ല.

17. Why was I not cut off before the darkness, [neither] has he covered my face with the darkness.:
