1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Iob aunswered, & said:

2. ഇന്നും എന്റെ സങ്കടം കൊടിയതാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ ഞരക്കത്തിന്മേല് ഭാരമാകുന്നു.

2. Though my talke be this day in bitternesse, and my plague greater then my groning.

3. അവനെ എവിടെ കാണുമെന്നറിഞ്ഞെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ചെല്ലുമായിരുന്നു.

3. O that I might know him, and finde him, and that I might come before his seate:

4. ഞാന് അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്റെ ന്യായം വിവരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ന്യായവാദം കോരിച്ചൊരിയുമായിരുന്നു.

4. I woulde pleade my cause before hym, and fill my mouth with argumentes:

5. അവന്റെ ഉത്തരം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു; അവന് എന്തു പറയുമെന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

5. I woulde knowe what aunswere he woulde geue me, and vnderstande what he woulde say vnto me.

6. അവന് ബലാധിക്യത്തോടെ എന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല; അവന് എന്നെ ആദരിക്കേയുള്ളു.

6. Will he pleade against me with his great power? No, but he will make me the stronger.

7. അവിടെ നേരുള്ളവന് അവനോടു വാദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് സദാകാലത്തേക്കും എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

7. There the righteous might dispute with him, so shoulde I be deliuered for euer from my iudge.

8. ഞാന് കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവന് അവിടെ ഇല്ല; പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

8. Behold, though I go forwarde I find him not: If I go backwarde, I can get no knowledge of hym:

9. വടക്കു അവന് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില് നോക്കീട്ടു അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ല; തെക്കോട്ടു അവന് തിരിയുന്നു; അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും.

9. If I go on the left side where he doth his worke, I can not attayne vnto him: Againe, if I go on the right side, he hydeth him selfe that I can not see hym.

10. എന്നാല് ഞാന് നടക്കുന്ന വഴി അവന് അറിയുന്നു; എന്നെ ശോധന കഴിച്ചാല് ഞാന് പൊന്നുപോലെ പുറത്തു വരും.

10. But as for my way, he knoweth it, and tryeth me, that as the gold I may come foorth.

11. എന്റെ കാലടി അവന്റെ ചുവടു തുടര്ന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു; ഞാന് വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

11. My foote doth kepe his path, his hie way haue I holden, and will not go out of it.

12. ഞാന് അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ കല്പന വിട്ടു പിന്മാറീട്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ വായലിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. I will not forsake the commaundement of his lippes, I haue esteemed the wordes of his mouth more then myne appoynted foode.

13. അവനോ അനന്യന് ; അവനെ തടുക്കുന്നതു ആര്? തിരുവുള്ളത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യം അവന് അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.

13. He is still at one poynt, and who can turne him? he doth as him listeth, and bringeth to passe what he will.

14. എനിക്കു നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു അവന് നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പലതും അവന്റെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടു.

14. He perfourmeth the thing that is appoynted for me, and many such thinges doth he.

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവന്റെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിങ്കല് ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നു; ഔര്ത്തുനോക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

15. This is the cause that I shrinke at his presence, so that when I consider him, I am afrayde of hym.

16. ദൈവം എനിക്കു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തി, സര്വ്വശക്തന് എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. For God maketh my heart softe, and the almightie putteth me in feare.

17. ഞാന് പരവശനായിരിക്കുന്നതു അന്ധകാരം നിമിത്തമല്ല, കൂരിരുട്ടു എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മൂടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമല്ല.

17. Because I am not cut of before the darkenesse, neither hath he couered the cloude fro my face.
