1. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ നിമിത്തം നീ മുഷിയരുതു; നീതികേടു ചെയ്യുന്നവരോടു അസൂയപ്പെടുകയുമരുതു.

1. (By David.) Don't be annoyed by anyone who does wrong, and don't envy them.

2. അവര് പുല്ലുപോലെ വേഗത്തില് ഉണങ്ങി പച്ചച്ചെടിപോലെ വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു.

2. They will soon disappear like grass without rain.

3. യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു നന്മചെയ്ക; ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തു വിശ്വസ്തത ആചരിക്ക. യഹോവയില് തന്നേ രസിച്ചുകൊള്ക; അവന് നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ നിനക്കു തരും.

3. Trust the LORD and live right! The land will be yours, and you will be safe.

4. നിന്റെ വഴി യഹോവയെ ഭരമേല്പിക്ക; അവനില് തന്നേ ആശ്രയിക്ക; അവന് അതു നിര്വ്വഹിക്കും.

4. Do what the LORD wants, and he will give you your heart's desire.

5. അവന് നിന്റെ നീതിയെ പ്രഭാതംപോലെയും നിന്റെ ന്യായത്തെ മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നംപോലെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കും.

5. Let the LORD lead you and trust him to help.

6. യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ മിണ്ടാതെയിരുന്നു അവന്നായി പ്രത്യാശിക്ക; കാര്യസാധ്യം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നവനെയും ദുരുപായം പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്നവനെയും കുറിച്ചു നീ മുഷിയരുതു.

6. Then it will be as clear as the noonday sun that you were right.

7. കോപം കളഞ്ഞു ക്രോധം ഉപേക്ഷിക്ക; മുഷിഞ്ഞു പോകരുതു; അതു ദോഷത്തിന്നു ഹേതുവാകേയുള്ളു.

7. Be patient and trust the LORD. Don't let it bother you when all goes well for those who do sinful things.

8. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാര് ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും; യഹോവയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നവരോ ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും.

8. Don't be angry or furious. Anger can lead to sin.

9. കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദുഷ്ടന് ഇല്ല; നീ അവന്റെ ഇടം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കും; അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

9. All sinners will disappear, but if you trust the LORD, the land will be yours.

10. എന്നാല് സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവര് ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും; സമാധാനസമൃദ്ധിയില് അവര് ആനന്ദിക്കും.

10. Sinners will soon disappear, never to be found,

11. ദുഷ്ടന് നീതിമാന്നു ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നേരെ അവന് പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു.

11. but the poor will take the land and enjoy a big harvest.

12. കര്ത്താവു അവനെ നോക്കി ചിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ദിവസം വരുന്നു എന്നു അവന് കാണുന്നു. എളിയവനെയും ദരിദ്രനെയും വീഴിപ്പാനും സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗികളെ കൊല്ലുവാനും ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് വാളൂരി വില്ലു കുലെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. Merciless people make plots against good people and snarl like animals,

13. അവരുടെ വാള് അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് തന്നേ കടക്കും; അവരുടെ വില്ലുകള് ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

13. but the Lord laughs and knows their time is coming soon.

14. അനേകദുഷ്ടന്മാര്ക്കുംള്ള സമൃദ്ധിയെക്കാള് നീതിമാന്നുള്ള അല്പം ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതു.

14. The wicked kill with swords and shoot arrows to murder the poor and the needy and all who do right.

15. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഭുജങ്ങള് ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; എന്നാല് നീതിമാന്മാരെ യഹോവ താങ്ങും.

15. But they will be killed by their own swords, and their arrows will be broken.

16. യഹോവ നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരുടെ നാളുകളെ അറിയുന്നു; അവരുടെ അവകാശം ശാശ്വതമായിരിക്കും.

16. It is better to live right and be poor than to be sinful and rich.

17. ദുഷ്കാലത്തു അവര് ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോകയില്ല; ക്ഷാമകാലത്തു അവര് തൃപ്തരായിരിക്കും,

17. The wicked will lose all of their power, but the LORD gives strength to everyone who is good.

18. എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് നശിച്ചുപോകും; യഹോവയുടെ ശത്രുക്കള് പുല്പുറത്തിന്റെ ഭംഗിപോലേയുള്ളു; അവര് ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും; പുകപോലെ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും.

18. Those who obey the LORD are daily in his care, and what he has given them will be theirs forever.

19. ദുഷ്ടന് വായ്പ വാങ്ങുന്നു തിരികെ കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല; നീതിമാനോ കൃപാലുവായി ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. They won't be in trouble when times are bad, and they will have plenty when food is scarce.

20. അവനാല് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും. അവനാല് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

20. Wicked people are enemies of the LORD and will vanish like smoke from a field on fire.

21. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴിയില് പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയാല് യഹോവ അവന്റെ ഗമനം സ്ഥിരമാക്കുന്നു.

21. An evil person borrows and never pays back; a good person is generous and never stops giving.

22. അവന് വീണാലും നിലംപരിചാകയില്ല; യഹോവ അവനെ കൈ പിടിച്ചു താങ്ങുന്നു.

22. Everyone the LORD blesses will receive the land; everyone the LORD curses will be destroyed.

23. ഞാന് ബാലനായിരുന്നു, വൃദ്ധനായിത്തീര്ന്നു; നീതിമാന് തുണയില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും അവന്റെ സന്തതി ആഹാരം ഇരക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

23. If you do what the LORD wants, he will make certain each step you take is sure.

24. അവന് നിത്യം കൃപാലുവായി വായ്പ കൊടുക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ സന്തതി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

24. The LORD will hold your hand, and if you stumble, you still won't fall.

25. ദോഷം വിട്ടൊഴിഞ്ഞു ഗുണം ചെയ്ക; എന്നാല് നീ സദാകാലം സുഖമായി വസിക്കും.

25. As long as I can remember, good people have never been left helpless, and their children have never gone begging for food.

26. യഹോവ ന്യായപ്രിയനാകുന്നു; തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവര് എന്നേക്കും പരിപാലിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സന്തതിയോ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. They gladly give and lend, and their children turn out good.

27. നീതിമാന്മാര് ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കി എന്നേക്കും അതില് വസിക്കും;

27. If you stop sinning and start doing right, you will keep living and be secure forever.

28. നീതിമാന്റെ വായ് ജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവു ന്യായം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

28. The LORD loves justice, and he won't ever desert his faithful people. He always protects them, but destroys the children of the wicked.

29. തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ കാലടികള് വഴുതുകയില്ല.

29. God's people will own the land and live here forever.

30. ദുഷ്ടന് നീതിമാന്നായി പതിയിരുന്നു, അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് നോക്കുന്നു.

30. Words of wisdom come when good people speak for justice.

31. യഹോവ അവനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യില് വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കയില്ല; ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തില് അവനെ കുറ്റംവിധിക്കയുമില്ല.

31. They remember God's teachings, and they never take a wrong step.

32. യഹോവെക്കായി പ്രത്യാശിച്ചു അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്ക; എന്നാല് ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കുവാന് അവന് നിന്നെ ഉയര്ത്തും; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതു നീ കാണും.

32. The wicked try to trap and kill good people,

33. ദുഷ്ടന് പ്രബലനായിരിക്കുന്നതും; സ്വദേശികമായ പച്ചവൃക്ഷംപോലെ തഴെക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു.

33. but the LORD is on their side, and he will defend them when they are on trial.

34. ഞാന് പിന്നെ അതിലെ പോയപ്പോള് അവന് ഇല്ല; ഞാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു, അവനെ കണ്ടതുമില്ല.

34. Trust the LORD and follow him. He will give you the land, and you will see the wicked destroyed.

35. നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ കുറിക്കൊള്ളുക; നേരുള്ളവനെ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ക; സമാധാനപുരുഷന്നു സന്തതി ഉണ്ടാകും.

35. I have seen brutal people abuse others and grow strong like trees in rich soil.

36. എന്നാല് അതിക്രമക്കാര് ഒരുപോലെ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സന്താനം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

36. Suddenly they disappeared! I looked, but they were gone and no longer there.

37. നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ രക്ഷ യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു വരുന്നു; കഷ്ടകാലത്തു അവന് അവരുടെ ദുര്ഗ്ഗം ആകുന്നു.

37. Think of the bright future waiting for all the families of honest and innocent and peace-loving people.

38. യഹോവ അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു വിടുവിക്കുന്നു; അവര് അവനില് ആശ്രയിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

38. But not a trace will be left of the wicked or their families.
