1. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ നിമിത്തം നീ മുഷിയരുതു; നീതികേടു ചെയ്യുന്നവരോടു അസൂയപ്പെടുകയുമരുതു.

1. [A Psalm] of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, neither be envious of them that do iniquity.

2. അവര് പുല്ലുപോലെ വേഗത്തില് ഉണങ്ങി പച്ചച്ചെടിപോലെ വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു.

2. For they shall soon be withered as the grass, and shall soon fall away as the green herbs.

3. യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു നന്മചെയ്ക; ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തു വിശ്വസ്തത ആചരിക്ക. യഹോവയില് തന്നേ രസിച്ചുകൊള്ക; അവന് നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ നിനക്കു തരും.

3. Hope in the Lord, and do good; and dwell on the land, and you shall be fed with the wealth of it.

4. നിന്റെ വഴി യഹോവയെ ഭരമേല്പിക്ക; അവനില് തന്നേ ആശ്രയിക്ക; അവന് അതു നിര്വ്വഹിക്കും.

4. Delight [yourself] in the Lord, and He shall grant you the desires of your heart.

5. അവന് നിന്റെ നീതിയെ പ്രഭാതംപോലെയും നിന്റെ ന്യായത്തെ മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നംപോലെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കും.

5. Disclose Your way to the Lord, and trust in Him; and He shall bring [it] to pass.

6. യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ മിണ്ടാതെയിരുന്നു അവന്നായി പ്രത്യാശിക്ക; കാര്യസാധ്യം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നവനെയും ദുരുപായം പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്നവനെയും കുറിച്ചു നീ മുഷിയരുതു.

6. And He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.

7. കോപം കളഞ്ഞു ക്രോധം ഉപേക്ഷിക്ക; മുഷിഞ്ഞു പോകരുതു; അതു ദോഷത്തിന്നു ഹേതുവാകേയുള്ളു.

7. Submit yourself to the Lord, and make supplication to Him; do not fret because of him that prospers in his way, at the man that does unlawful deeds.

8. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാര് ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും; യഹോവയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നവരോ ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും.

8. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret, so as not to do evil.

9. കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദുഷ്ടന് ഇല്ല; നീ അവന്റെ ഇടം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കും; അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

9. For evildoers shall be destroyed; but they that wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the land.

10. എന്നാല് സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവര് ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും; സമാധാനസമൃദ്ധിയില് അവര് ആനന്ദിക്കും.

10. And yet a little while, and the sinner shall not be, and you shall seek for his place, and shall not find [it].

11. ദുഷ്ടന് നീതിമാന്നു ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നേരെ അവന് പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു.

11. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight [themselves] in the abundance of peace.

12. കര്ത്താവു അവനെ നോക്കി ചിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ദിവസം വരുന്നു എന്നു അവന് കാണുന്നു. എളിയവനെയും ദരിദ്രനെയും വീഴിപ്പാനും സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗികളെ കൊല്ലുവാനും ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് വാളൂരി വില്ലു കുലെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. The sinner will watch for the righteous, and gnash his teeth upon him.

13. അവരുടെ വാള് അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് തന്നേ കടക്കും; അവരുടെ വില്ലുകള് ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

13. But the Lord shall laugh at him; for He foresees that his day will come.

14. അനേകദുഷ്ടന്മാര്ക്കുംള്ള സമൃദ്ധിയെക്കാള് നീതിമാന്നുള്ള അല്പം ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതു.

14. Sinners have drawn their swords; they have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, [and] to slay the upright in heart.

15. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഭുജങ്ങള് ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; എന്നാല് നീതിമാന്മാരെ യഹോവ താങ്ങും.

15. Let their sword enter into their [own] heart, and their bows be broken.

16. യഹോവ നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരുടെ നാളുകളെ അറിയുന്നു; അവരുടെ അവകാശം ശാശ്വതമായിരിക്കും.

16. A little is better to the righteous than the abundant wealth of sinners.

17. ദുഷ്കാലത്തു അവര് ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോകയില്ല; ക്ഷാമകാലത്തു അവര് തൃപ്തരായിരിക്കും,

17. For the arms of sinners shall be broken; but the Lord supports the righteous.

18. എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് നശിച്ചുപോകും; യഹോവയുടെ ശത്രുക്കള് പുല്പുറത്തിന്റെ ഭംഗിപോലേയുള്ളു; അവര് ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും; പുകപോലെ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും.

18. The Lord knows the ways of the upright; and their inheritance shall be forever.

19. ദുഷ്ടന് വായ്പ വാങ്ങുന്നു തിരികെ കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല; നീതിമാനോ കൃപാലുവായി ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. They shall not be ashamed in an evil time; and in days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20. അവനാല് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും. അവനാല് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

20. For the sinners shall perish; and the enemies of the Lord at the moment of their being honored and exalted have utterly vanished like smoke.

21. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴിയില് പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയാല് യഹോവ അവന്റെ ഗമനം സ്ഥിരമാക്കുന്നു.

21. The sinner borrows, and will not pay again; but the righteous has compassion, and gives.

22. അവന് വീണാലും നിലംപരിചാകയില്ല; യഹോവ അവനെ കൈ പിടിച്ചു താങ്ങുന്നു.

22. For those that bless Him shall inherit the earth; and they that curse Him shall be utterly destroyed.

23. ഞാന് ബാലനായിരുന്നു, വൃദ്ധനായിത്തീര്ന്നു; നീതിമാന് തുണയില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും അവന്റെ സന്തതി ആഹാരം ഇരക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

23. The steps of a man are rightly ordered by the Lord; and He will take pleasure in his way.

24. അവന് നിത്യം കൃപാലുവായി വായ്പ കൊടുക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ സന്തതി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

24. When he falls, he shall not be ruined; for the Lord supports his hand.

25. ദോഷം വിട്ടൊഴിഞ്ഞു ഗുണം ചെയ്ക; എന്നാല് നീ സദാകാലം സുഖമായി വസിക്കും.

25. I was [once] young, indeed I am now old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking bread.

26. യഹോവ ന്യായപ്രിയനാകുന്നു; തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവര് എന്നേക്കും പരിപാലിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സന്തതിയോ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. He is merciful, and lends continually; and his seed shall be blessed.

27. നീതിമാന്മാര് ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കി എന്നേക്കും അതില് വസിക്കും;

27. Turn aside from evil, and do good; and dwell forever.

28. നീതിമാന്റെ വായ് ജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവു ന്യായം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

28. For the Lord loves judgment, and will not forsake His saints; they shall be preserved forever; the blameless shall be avenged, but the seed of the ungodly shall be utterly destroyed.

29. തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ കാലടികള് വഴുതുകയില്ല.

29. But the righteous shall inherit the earth, and dwell upon it forever.

30. ദുഷ്ടന് നീതിമാന്നായി പതിയിരുന്നു, അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് നോക്കുന്നു.

30. The mouth of the righteous will meditate wisdom, and his tongue will speak of judgment.

31. യഹോവ അവനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യില് വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കയില്ല; ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തില് അവനെ കുറ്റംവിധിക്കയുമില്ല.

31. The law of his God is in his heart; and his steps shall not slide.

32. യഹോവെക്കായി പ്രത്യാശിച്ചു അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്ക; എന്നാല് ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കുവാന് അവന് നിന്നെ ഉയര്ത്തും; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതു നീ കാണും.

32. The sinner watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him.

33. ദുഷ്ടന് പ്രബലനായിരിക്കുന്നതും; സ്വദേശികമായ പച്ചവൃക്ഷംപോലെ തഴെക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു.

33. But the Lord will not leave him in his hands, nor by any means condemn him when he is judged.

34. ഞാന് പിന്നെ അതിലെ പോയപ്പോള് അവന് ഇല്ല; ഞാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു, അവനെ കണ്ടതുമില്ല.

34. Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you shall see [it].

35. നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ കുറിക്കൊള്ളുക; നേരുള്ളവനെ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ക; സമാധാനപുരുഷന്നു സന്തതി ഉണ്ടാകും.

35. I saw the ungodly very highly exalting himself, and lifting himself up like the cedars of Lebanon.

36. എന്നാല് അതിക്രമക്കാര് ഒരുപോലെ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സന്താനം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

36. Yet I passed by, and lo! He was not; and I sought him, but his place was not found.

37. നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ രക്ഷ യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു വരുന്നു; കഷ്ടകാലത്തു അവന് അവരുടെ ദുര്ഗ്ഗം ആകുന്നു.

37. Maintain innocence, and behold uprightness; for there is a remnant to the peaceable man.

38. യഹോവ അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു വിടുവിക്കുന്നു; അവര് അവനില് ആശ്രയിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

38. But the transgressors shall be utterly destroyed together; the remnants of the ungodly shall be utterly destroyed.
