1. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ നിമിത്തം നീ മുഷിയരുതു; നീതികേടു ചെയ്യുന്നവരോടു അസൂയപ്പെടുകയുമരുതു.

1. A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath.

2. അവര് പുല്ലുപോലെ വേഗത്തില് ഉണങ്ങി പച്ചച്ചെടിപോലെ വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു.

2. Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath.

3. യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു നന്മചെയ്ക; ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തു വിശ്വസ്തത ആചരിക്ക. യഹോവയില് തന്നേ രസിച്ചുകൊള്ക; അവന് നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ നിനക്കു തരും.

3. For thy arrows are fastened in me: and thy hand hath been strong upon me.

4. നിന്റെ വഴി യഹോവയെ ഭരമേല്പിക്ക; അവനില് തന്നേ ആശ്രയിക്ക; അവന് അതു നിര്വ്വഹിക്കും.

4. There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath: there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.

5. അവന് നിന്റെ നീതിയെ പ്രഭാതംപോലെയും നിന്റെ ന്യായത്തെ മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നംപോലെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കും.

5. For my iniquities are gone over my head: and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.

6. യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ മിണ്ടാതെയിരുന്നു അവന്നായി പ്രത്യാശിക്ക; കാര്യസാധ്യം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നവനെയും ദുരുപായം പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്നവനെയും കുറിച്ചു നീ മുഷിയരുതു.

6. My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness.

7. കോപം കളഞ്ഞു ക്രോധം ഉപേക്ഷിക്ക; മുഷിഞ്ഞു പോകരുതു; അതു ദോഷത്തിന്നു ഹേതുവാകേയുള്ളു.

7. I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end: I walked sorrowful all the day long.

8. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാര് ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും; യഹോവയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നവരോ ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും.

8. For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.

9. കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദുഷ്ടന് ഇല്ല; നീ അവന്റെ ഇടം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കും; അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

9. I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly: I roared with the groaning of my heart.

10. എന്നാല് സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവര് ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും; സമാധാനസമൃദ്ധിയില് അവര് ആനന്ദിക്കും.

10. Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee.

11. ദുഷ്ടന് നീതിമാന്നു ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നേരെ അവന് പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു.

11. My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.

12. കര്ത്താവു അവനെ നോക്കി ചിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ദിവസം വരുന്നു എന്നു അവന് കാണുന്നു. എളിയവനെയും ദരിദ്രനെയും വീഴിപ്പാനും സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗികളെ കൊല്ലുവാനും ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് വാളൂരി വില്ലു കുലെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off:

13. അവരുടെ വാള് അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് തന്നേ കടക്കും; അവരുടെ വില്ലുകള് ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

13. And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.

14. അനേകദുഷ്ടന്മാര്ക്കുംള്ള സമൃദ്ധിയെക്കാള് നീതിമാന്നുള്ള അല്പം ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതു.

14. But I, as a deaf man, heard not: and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.

15. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഭുജങ്ങള് ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; എന്നാല് നീതിമാന്മാരെ യഹോവ താങ്ങും.

15. And I became as a man that heareth not: and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.

16. യഹോവ നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരുടെ നാളുകളെ അറിയുന്നു; അവരുടെ അവകാശം ശാശ്വതമായിരിക്കും.

16. For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped: thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.

17. ദുഷ്കാലത്തു അവര് ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോകയില്ല; ക്ഷാമകാലത്തു അവര് തൃപ്തരായിരിക്കും,

17. For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me: and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.

18. എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് നശിച്ചുപോകും; യഹോവയുടെ ശത്രുക്കള് പുല്പുറത്തിന്റെ ഭംഗിപോലേയുള്ളു; അവര് ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും; പുകപോലെ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും.

18. For I am ready for scourges: and my sorrow is continually before me.

19. ദുഷ്ടന് വായ്പ വാങ്ങുന്നു തിരികെ കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല; നീതിമാനോ കൃപാലുവായി ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. For I will declare my inequity: and I will think for my sin.

20. അവനാല് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കും. അവനാല് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

20. But my enemies live, and are stronger that I: and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

21. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴിയില് പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയാല് യഹോവ അവന്റെ ഗമനം സ്ഥിരമാക്കുന്നു.

21. They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness.

22. അവന് വീണാലും നിലംപരിചാകയില്ല; യഹോവ അവനെ കൈ പിടിച്ചു താങ്ങുന്നു.

22. Forsake me not, O Lord my God: do not thou depart from me.

23. ഞാന് ബാലനായിരുന്നു, വൃദ്ധനായിത്തീര്ന്നു; നീതിമാന് തുണയില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും അവന്റെ സന്തതി ആഹാരം ഇരക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

23. Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.
