1. അനവധിസമ്പത്തിലും സല്കീര്ത്തിയും വെള്ളിയിലും പൊന്നിലും കൃപയും നല്ലതു.

1. Betere is a good name, than many richessis; for good grace is aboue siluer and gold.

2. ധനവാനും ദരിദ്രനും തമ്മില് കാണുന്നു; അവരെ ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവന് യഹോവ തന്നേ.

2. A riche man and a pore man metten hem silf; the Lord is worchere of euer eithir.

3. വിവേകമുള്ളവന് അനര്ത്ഥം കണ്ടു ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അല്പബുദ്ധികളോ നേരെ ചെന്നു ചേതപ്പെടുന്നു.

3. A felle man seeth yuel, and hidith him silf; and an innocent man passid, and he was turmentid bi harm.

4. താഴ്മെക്കും യഹോവഭക്തിക്കും ഉള്ള പ്രതിഫലം ധനവും മാനവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു.

4. The ende of temperaunce is the drede of the Lord; richessis, and glorye, and lijf.

5. വക്രന്റെ വഴിയില് മുള്ളും കുടുക്കും ഉണ്ടു; തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് അവയോടു അകന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ.

6. ബാലന് നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വഴിയില് അവനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്ക; അവന് വൃദ്ധനായാലും അതു വിട്ടുമാറുകയില്ല.

6. It is a prouerbe, A yong wexynge man bisidis his weie, and whanne he hath wexe elde, he schal not go awei fro it.

7. ധനവാന് ദരിദ്രന്മാരെ ഭരിക്കുന്നു; കടം മേടിക്കുന്നവന് കടം കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു ദാസന് .

7. A riche man comaundith to pore men; and he that takith borewyng, is the seruaunt of the leenere.

8. നീതികേടു വിതെക്കുന്നവന് ആപത്തു കൊയ്യും; അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ വടി ഇല്ലാതെയാകും.

9. ദയാകടാക്ഷമുള്ളവന് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും; അവന് തന്റെ ആഹാരത്തില്നിന്നു അഗതിക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. പരിഹാസിയെ നീക്കിക്കളക; അപ്പോള് പിണക്കം പോയ്ക്കൊള്ളും; കലഹവും നിന്ദയും നിന്നുപോകും.

10. Caste thou out a scornere, and strijf schal go out with hym; and causis and dispisyngis schulen ceesse.

11. ഹൃദയശുദ്ധി ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവന്നു അധരലാവണ്യം ഉണ്ടു; രാജാവു അവന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന് .

11. He that loueth the clennesse of herte, schal haue the kyng a freend, for the grace of hise lippis.

12. യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണു പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവനെ കാക്കുന്നു; ദ്രോഹികളുടെ വാക്കോ അവന് മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

12. The iyen of the Lord kepen kunnyng; and the wordis of a wickid man ben disseyued.

13. വെളിയില് സിംഹം ഉണ്ടു, വീഥിയില് എനിക്കു ജീവഹാനി വരും എന്നു മടിയന് പറയുന്നു.

13. A slow man schal seie, A lioun is withoutforth; Y schal be slayn in the myddis of the stretis.

14. പരസ്ത്രീയുടെ വായ് ആഴമുള്ള കുഴി ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയാല് ത്യജിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് അതില് വീഴും.

14. The mouth of an alien womman is a deep diche; he to whom the Lord is wrooth, schal falle in to it.

15. ബാലന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തോടു ഭോഷത്വം പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ശിക്ഷെക്കുള്ള വടി അതിനെ അവനില് നിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളയും.

15. Foli is boundun togidere in the herte of a child; and a yerde of chastisyng schal dryue it awey.

16. ആദായം ഉണ്ടാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എളിയവനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും ധനവാന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവനും മുട്ടുള്ളവനായ്തീരും.

16. He that falsli chalengith a pore man, to encreesse hise owne richessis, schal yyue to a richere man, and schal be nedi.

17. ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ ചെവിചായിച്ചു കേള്ക്കുക; എന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നു മനസ്സുവെക്കുക.

17. My sone, bowe doun thin eere, and here thou the wordis of wise men; but sette thou the herte to my techyng.

18. അവയെ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളില് സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് അവ ഒക്കെയും ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും മനോഹരം.

18. That schal be fair to thee, whanne thou hast kept it in thin herte, and it schal flowe ayen in thi lippis.

19. നിന്റെ ആശ്രയം യഹോവയില് ആയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു, നിന്നോടു തന്നേ, ഉപദേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. That thi trist be in the Lord; wherfor and Y haue schewid it to thee to dai.

20. നിന്നെ അയച്ചവര്ക്കും നീ നേരുള്ള മറുപടി കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിനക്കു നേരുള്ള മറുപടിയുടെ നിശ്ചയം അറിയിച്ചുതരുവാന്

20. Lo! Y haue discryued it in thre maneres, in thouytis and kunnyng,

21. ആലോചനയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും അടങ്ങിയ സാരസംഗതികളെ ഞാന് നിനക്കു എഴുതീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

21. that Y schulde schewe to thee the sadnesse and spechis of trewthe; to answere of these thingis to hem, that senten thee.

22. എളിയവനോടു അവന് എളിയവനാകകൊണ്ടു കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യരുതു; അരിഷ്ടനെ പടിവാതില്ക്കല്വെച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിക്കയും അരുതു.

22. Do thou not violence to a pore man, for he is pore; nethir defoule thou a nedi man in the yate.

23. യഹോവ അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തും; അവരെ കൊള്ളയിട്ടവരുടെ ജീവനെ കൊള്ളയിടും.

23. For the Lord schal deme his cause, and he schal turmente hem, that turmentiden his soule.

24. കോപശീലനോടു സഖിത്വമരുതു; ക്രോധമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ നടക്കയും അരുതു.

24. Nyle thou be freend to a wrathful man, nether go thou with a wood man;

25. നീ അവന്റെ വഴികളെ പഠിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ പ്രാണന് കണിയില് അകപ്പെടുവാനും സംഗതി വരരുതു.

25. lest perauenture thou lerne hise weies, and take sclaundir to thi soule.

26. നീ കയ്യടിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലും കടത്തിന്നു ജാമ്യം നിലക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലും ആയ്പോകരുതു.

26. Nyle thou be with hem that oblischen her hondis, and that proferen hem silf borewis for dettis; for if he hath not wherof he schal restore,

27. വീട്ടുവാന് നിനക്കു വകയില്ലാതെ വന്നിട്ടു നിന്റെ കീഴില്നിന്നു നിന്റെ മെത്ത എടുത്തുകളവാന് ഇടവരുത്തുന്നതു എന്തിനു?

27. what of cause is, that thou take awei hilyng fro thi bed?

28. നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന പണ്ടത്തെ അതിര് നീ മാറ്റരുതു.

28. Go thou not ouer the elde markis, whiche thi faders han set.

29. പ്രവൃത്തിയില് സാമര്ത്ഥ്യമുള്ള പുരുഷനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവന് രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് നിലക്കും; നീചന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് അവന് നില്ക്കയില്ല.

29. Thou hast seyn a man smert in his werk; he schal stonde bifore kyngis, and he schal not be bifor vnnoble men.
