1. എന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറത്തെ ആടുകളെ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചിതറിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇടയന്മാര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

1. Thus, said Yahweh, Go thou down to the house of king of Judah, and speak thou there this word,

2. അതുകൊണ്ടു, തന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിക്കുന്ന ഇടയന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതെ അവയെ ചിതറിച്ചുഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. and say Hear thou the word of Yahweh O king of Judah who sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants and thy people who enter in at these gates,

3. എന്റെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവയെ ഞാന് അവയെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നും ശേഖരിച്ചു അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവ വര്ദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകും.

3. Thus, saith Yahweh, Execute ye justice, and righteousness, And deliver the robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, But the sojourner the fatherless, and the widow, do not oppress neither commit violence, And the blood of the innocent, do not ye shed, in this place.

4. അവയെ മേയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇടയന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കും; അവ ഇനി പേടിക്കയില്ല, ഭ്രമിക്കയില്ല, കാണാതെപോകയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4. For if ye, indeed do, this thing, then shall there enter into the gates of this house kings, sitting for David upon his throne riding in chariots and on horses, he and his servants, and his people.

5. ഞാന് ദാവീദിന്നു നീതിയുള്ളോരു മുളയായവനെ ഉത്ഭവിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവന് രാജാവായി വാണു ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു ദേശത്തു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തും.

5. But if ye will not hear these words, By myself have I sworn Declareth Yahweh That, a ruin, shall this house become.

6. അവന്റെ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദാ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; യിസ്രായേല് നിര്ഭയമായി വസിക്കും; അവന്നു യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി എന്നു പേര് പറയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

6. For Thus, saith Yahweh Concerning the house of the king of Judah, Though thou wast Gilead, to me, The summit of Lebanon, Yet surely I will make thee, A wilderness, Cities, not habitable;

7. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു ഇനി പറയാതെ,

7. And I will hallow against thee Destroyers Every man with his weapons, And they shall cut down of the choicest of thy cedars, and cast upon the fire.

8. യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നും ഞാന് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നും പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തു വസിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. Then shall many nations pass by this city, and shall say, every man to his neighbour, For what cause, hath Yahweh done thus, unto this great city?

9. പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടുഎന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് നുറുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് ഒക്കെയും ഇളകുന്നു; യഹോവ നിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധവചനങ്ങള് നിമിത്തവും ഞാന് , മത്തനായിരിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവനെപ്പോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. And they shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh, their God, And bowed down to other gods And served them.

10. ദേശം വ്യഭിചാരികളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ശാപം നിമിത്തം ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങള് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഔട്ടം ദോഷമുള്ളതും അവരുടെ ബലം നേരുകെട്ടതും ആകുന്നു.

10. Do not ye lament for him that is dead Neither bemoan ye, him, But weep ye weep on for him that is going away, For he shall not return any more Nor see the land of his birth.

11. പ്രവാചകനും പുരോഹിതനും ഒരുപോലെ വഷളന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും ഞാന് അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത കാണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. For Thus, saith Yahweh Touching Shallum, son of Josiah king of Judah, That reigneth instead of Josiah his father, Who hath gone forth out of this place, He shall not return thither any more;

12. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ വഴി അവര്ക്കും ഇരുട്ടത്തു വഴുവഴുപ്പു ആയിരിക്കും; അവര് അതില് കാല്തെറ്റി വീഴും; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം, അവരുടെ സന്ദര്ശനകാലം തന്നേ, വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

12. For in the place whither they have taken him captive, There, shall he die, And this land, shall he see no more.

13. ശമര്യ്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഞാന് ഭോഷത്വം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് ബാലിന്റെ നാമത്തില് പ്രവചിച്ചു എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

13. Alas! for him who buildeth his house without righteousness, And his roof-chambers without justice, Of his neighbour, taketh service for nought, And recompense for his work, giveth him not.

14. യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിലോ ഞാന് അതിഭയങ്കരമായുള്ളതു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തു വ്യാജത്തില് നടക്കുന്നു; ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിയാതവണ്ണം അവര് ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവരെല്ലാവരും എനിക്കു സൊദോംപോലെയും, അതിലെ നിവാസികള് ഗൊമോറ പോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Who saith I will build me a roomy house, with spacious roof-chambers, So he cutteth him open its windows, And it is covered in with cedar, And he painteth it with vermilion.

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് അവരെ കാഞ്ഞിരം തീറ്റി നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരില്നിന്നല്ലോ വഷളത്വം ദേശത്തെല്ലാടവും പരന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

15. Shalt thou reign, because, thou, art eager to excel in cedar? Thy father, did lie not eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness, And, then, it was well with him?

16. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കരുതു; അവര് നിങ്ങളെ വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ വായില്നിന്നുള്ളതല്ല സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ ദര്ശനമത്രേ അവര് പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു.

16. Did he not plead the cause of the oppressed and the needy, And, then, it was well? Was not, that, to know, me? Demandeth Yahweh.

17. എന്നെ നിരസിക്കുന്നവരോടു അവര്നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടക്കുന്നവരോടൊക്കെയുംനിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ദോഷവും വരികയില്ല എന്നും പറയുന്നു.

17. Verily thou hast neither eyes nor heart, save for thy plundering and for thy shedding of innocent blood, and for oppression and for crushing to do them!

18. യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ദര്ശിച്ചുകേള്പ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയില് നിന്നവന് ആര്? അവന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്?

18. Therefore Thus, saith Yahweh, Touching Jehoiakim son of Josiah King of Judah, They shall not cry in lament for him Alas my brother! or Alas sister! They shall not cry in lament for him Alas lord! or Alas! his renown!

19. യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം എന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു, വലിയ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുതന്നേ, പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ തലമേല് ചുറ്റിയടിക്കും.

19. With the burial of an ass, shall he be buried, Dragged along and cast forth, beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

20. തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങളെ നടത്തിത്തീരുവോളം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം മാറുകയില്ല; ഭാവികാലത്തു നിങ്ങള് അതിനെ പൂര്ണ്ണമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

20. Ascend the Lebanon and make outcry, And in Bashan, put forth thy voice, And make outcry from Abarim, For all thy lovers are torn in pieces.

21. ഞാന് ഈ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അയക്കാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവര് ഔടി; ഞാന് അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവര് പ്രവചിച്ചു.

21. I spake unto thee, in thy carelessness, Thou saidst I will not hearken! This hath been thy way from thy youth, That thou hast not hearkened to my voice.

22. അവര് എന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയില് നിന്നിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ കേള്പ്പിച്ചു അവരെ അവരുടെ ആകാത്തവഴിയില്നിന്നും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തില്നിന്നും തിരിപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

22. All thy shepherds, the wind shall feed, And, thy lovers into captivity, shall depart, Surely, then shalt thou turn pale and be confounded, by reason of all thy wickedness.

23. ഞാന് സമീപസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം മാത്രം ആകുന്നുവോ? ദൂരസ്ഥനായ ദൈവവുമല്ലയോ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

23. O inhabitress of Lebanon that makest thy nest in the cedars, How hast thou bemoaned thyself Now that pangs have overtaken thee, Anguish, as of her that giveth birth.

24. ഞാന് കാണാതവണ്ണം ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും മറയത്തു ഒളിപ്പാന് കഴിയുമോ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

24. As I live, Declareth Yahweh, Even though Coniah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet-ring upon my right hand, yet, from thence, would I pull thee off;

25. ഞാന് സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു, സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്റെ നാമത്തില് ഭോഷകു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു ഞാന് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. and I would give thee into the hand of them who seek thy life and into the hand of them from the face of whom, thou dost shrink in fear, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of the Chaldeans;

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ വഞ്ചനയുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരായി ഭോഷകു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും ഈ താല്പര്യം എത്രത്തോളം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും?

26. and I will hurl thee out and thy mother who bare thee, upon another land where ye were not born, and, there, shall ye die.

27. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ബാല് നിമിത്തം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഇവര് അന്യോന്യം വിവരിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സ്വപ്നങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇടവരുത്തുവാന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.

27. But unto the land whither they shall be lifting up their souls to return, thither, shall they not return.

28. സ്വപ്നംകണ്ട പ്രവാചകന് സ്വപ്നം വിവരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വചനം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന് എന്റെ വചനം വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കട്ടെ; വൈക്കോലും കോതമ്പും തമ്മില് ഒക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

28. An earthen vessel to be despised thrown about, is this man Coniah? Or an instrument, in which is no pleasure? Wherefore are they to be cast out, he and his seed, and to be thrown forth upon a land which they have not known?

29. എന്റെ വചനം തീ പോലെയും പാറയെ തകര്ക്കുംന്ന ചുറ്റികപോലെയും അല്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

29. O land, land, land! Hear thou the word of Yahweh!

30. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനോടു ഒരുത്തന് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും ഞാന് വിരോധമാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

30. Thus, saith Yahweh, Register ye this man, childless, A man who shall not prosper in his days, For there shall prosper of his seed No man sitting upon the throne of David, Or ruling any more over Judah.
