1. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു ഉത്സവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കുപോയി.

1. Some time later, there was a religious gathering of the Jews. Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2. യെരൂശലേമില് ആട്ടുവാതില്ക്കല് ബേഥെസ്ദാ എന്നു എബ്രായപേരുള്ള ഒരു കുളം ഉണ്ടു; അതിന്നു അഞ്ചു മണ്ഡപം ഉണ്ടു.

2. In Jerusalem there is a pool with five porches called Bethesda near the sheep gate.

3. അവയില് വ്യാധിക്കാര്, കുരുടര്, മുടന്തര്, ക്ഷയരോഗികള് ഇങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു കൂട്ടം (വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ഇളക്കം കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു) കിടന്നിരുന്നു.

3. Inside these porches lay many sick people. Some were blind. Some could not walk. Some could not move their bodies.

4. (അതതു സമയത്തു ഒരു ദൂതന് കുളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങി വെള്ളം കലക്കും; വെള്ളം കലങ്ങിയ ശേഷം ആദ്യം ഇറങ്ങുന്നവന് ഏതു വ്യാധിപിടിച്ചവനായിരുന്നാലും അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും)

4. (*An angel of the Lord came at certain times and made the water move. All of them were waiting for it to move. Whoever got in the water first after it was moving was healed of whatever sickness he had.)

5. എന്നാല് മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു ആണ്ടു രോഗം പിടിച്ചു കിടന്നോരു മനുഷ്യന് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.

6. അവന് കിടക്കുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടു, ഇങ്ങനെ ഏറിയ കാലമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞുനിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമാകുവാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

6. Jesus saw him lying there and knew the man had been sick a long time. Jesus said to him, 'Would you like to be healed?'

7. രോഗി അവനോടുയജമാനനേ, വെള്ളം കലങ്ങുമ്പോള് എന്നെ കുളത്തില് ആക്കുവാന് എനിക്കു ആരും ഇല്ല; ഞാന് തന്നേ ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് മറ്റൊരുത്തന് എനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

7. The sick man said, 'Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool when the water is moving. While I am coming, another one gets in first.'

8. യേശു അവനോടുഎഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Jesus said to him, 'Get up! Pick up your bed and walk.'

9. ഉടനെ ആ മനുഷ്യന് സൌഖ്യമായി കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടന്നു.

9. At once the man was healed and picked up his bed and walked. This happened on the Day of Rest.

10. എന്നാല് അന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആയിരുന്നു. ആകയാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര് സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവനോടുഇന്നുശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; കിടക്ക എടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. The Jews said to the man who had been healed, 'This is the Day of Rest. It is against the Law for you to carry your bed.'

11. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയവന് കിടക്ക എടുത്ത നടക്ക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

11. He said to them, 'The Man Who healed me said to me, 'Pick up your bed and walk.'

12. അവര് അവനോടുകിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യന് ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

12. Then the Jews asked him, 'What man said to you, 'Pick up your bed and walk'?'

13. എന്നാല് അവിടെ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയാല് യേശു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് ആരെന്നു സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവന് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

13. The man who had been healed did not know Who He was. Jesus had gone away while many people were there.

14. അനന്തരം യേശു അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവനോടുനോകൂ, നിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമായല്ലോ; അധികം തിന്മയായതു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ഇനി പാപം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Later Jesus found the man who had been healed in the house of God. He said to him, 'Listen! You have been healed. Stop sinning or something worse will come to you.'

15. ആ മനുഷ്യന് പോയി തന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതു യേശു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

15. The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus Who had healed him.

16. യേശു ശബ്ബത്തില് അതു ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.

16. Because Jesus did these things on the Day of Rest, the Jews made it very hard for Him.

17. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്റെ പിതാവു ഇന്നുവരെയും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Jesus said to them, 'My Father is still working all the time so I am working also.'

18. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവം സ്വന്തപിതാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്നെത്താന് ദൈവത്തോടു സമമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടും യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അധികമായി ശ്രമിച്ചു പോന്നു.

18. The Jews tried all the more to kill Him, not only because He had worked on the Day of Rest, but because He had also called God His Own Father. This made Him the same as God.

19. ആകയാല് യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുപിതാവു ചെയ്തു കാണുന്നതു അല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്നു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴികയില്ല; അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു എല്ലാം പുത്രനും അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. Then Jesus said to them, 'For sure, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself. He does what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son does also.

20. പിതാവു പുത്രനെ സ്നേഹിക്കയും താന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുമാറു ഇവയില് വലിയ പ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

20. The Father loves the Son and shows the Son everything He does. The Father will show Him greater works than these. They will surprise you.

21. പിതാവു മരിച്ചവരെ ഉണര്ത്തി ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനും താന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവരെ ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

21. The Father raises up the dead and makes them live. The Son also gives life to anyone He chooses.

22. എല്ലാവരും പിതാവിനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പിതാവു ആരെയും ന്യായം വിധിക്കാതെ ന്യായവിധി എല്ലാം പുത്രന്നുകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. The Father does not say who is guilty. He gives this to the Son to do.

23. പുത്രനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കാത്തവന് അവനെ അയച്ച പിതാവിനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നില്ല.

23. He does this so that all people will honor the Son as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father Who sent Him.

24. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുഎന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; അവന് ന്യായവിധിയില് ആകാതെ മരണത്തില് നിന്നു ജീവങ്കലേക്കു കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. For sure, I tell you, anyone who hears My Word and puts his trust in Him Who sent Me has life that lasts forever. He will not be guilty. He has already passed from death into life.

25. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുമരിച്ചവര് ദൈവപുത്രന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കയും കേള്ക്കുന്നവര് ജീവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാഴികവരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള് വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. For sure, I tell you, the time is coming. Yes, the time is here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God. Those who hear will live.

26. പിതാവിന്നു തന്നില്തന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളതുപോലെ അവന് പുത്രന്നും തന്നില്തന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളവന് ആകുമാറു വരം നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

26. The Father has life in Himself. He has given power to the Son to have life in Himself.

27. അവന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ആകയാല് ന്യായവിധിനടത്തുവാന് അവന്നു അധികാരവും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. God has given Him the right and the power to say if people are guilty, because He is the Son of Man.

28. ഇതിങ്കല് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുതു; കല്ലറകളില് ഉള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു, നന്മ ചെയ്തവര് ജീവന്നായും തിന്മ ചെയ്തവര് ന്യായവിധിക്കായും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ചെയ്വാനുള്ള നാഴിക വരുന്നു.

28. Do not be surprised at this. The time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice.

29. എനിക്കു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്വാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ വിധി നീതിയുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.

29. They will come out. Those who have done good will be raised again and will have new life. Those who have been sinful will be raised again and will be told they are guilty and will be punished.

30. ഞാന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞാല് എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമല്ല.

30. I can do nothing by Myself. I say who is guilty only as My Father tells Me. That way, what I say is right, because I am not trying to do what I want to do. I am doing what the Father, Who sent Me, wants Me to do.

31. എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു മറ്റൊരുത്തന് ആകുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യം എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

31. If I tell about Myself, My words are worth nothing.

32. നിങ്ങള് യോഹാന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചു; അവന് സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

32. There is another One Who tells about Me. I know the words He says about Me are true.

33. എനിക്കോ മനുഷ്യന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല; നിങ്ങള് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനത്രേ ഇതു പറയുന്നതു.

33. 'You sent to John the Baptist and he told you the truth.

34. അവന് ജ്വലിച്ചു പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന വിളകൂ ആയിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അല്പസമയത്തേക്കു അവന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്തില് ഉല്ലസിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

34. I do not need words from men to say I am right. I say this that you might be saved from the punishment of sin.

35. എനിക്കോ യോഹന്നാന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിലും വലിയ സാക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടു; പിതാവു എനിക്കു അനുഷ്ഠിപ്പാന് തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള്, ഞാന് ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള് തന്നേ, പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.

35. John the Baptist was a burning and shining light. You were willing for awhile to be glad in his light.

36. എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവുതാനും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഒരുനാളും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല, അവന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല;

36. I have something greater than John which tells of Me. I am doing works the Father has given Me to do and they are proving that the Father has sent Me.

37. അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില് വസിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല അവന് അയച്ചവനെ നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

37. The Father has told of Me and has sent Me. You have never heard His voice. You have never seen Him.

38. നിങ്ങള് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു; അവയില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് നിരൂപിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

38. You do not have His word living in your hearts because you do not put your trust in the One He sent.

39. എങ്കിലും ജീവന് പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

39. You do read the Holy Writings. You think you have life that lasts forever just because you read them. They do tell of Me.

40. ഞാന് മനുഷ്യരോടു ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങുന്നില്ല.

40. But you do not want to come to Me so you might have life.

41. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉള്ളില് ദൈവസ്നേഹം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

41. I do not take any honor from men.

42. I know you and you do not have the love of God in your hearts.

43. തമ്മില് തമ്മില് ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടു ഏകദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കല് നിന്നുള്ള ബഹുമാനം അന്വേഷിക്കാത്ത നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് കഴിയും?

43. I have come in the name of My Father. You do not receive Me. If another person comes in his own name, you will receive him.

44. ഞാന് പിതാവിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തും എന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നരുതു. നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നവന് ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് പ്രത്യാശ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മോശെ തന്നേ.

44. How can you believe when you are always wanting honor from each other? And yet you do not look for the honor that comes from the only God.

45. നിങ്ങള് മോശെയെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു എങ്കില് എന്നെയും വിശ്വസിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. 'Do not think that I will tell the Father you are guilty. The one who says you are guilty is Moses. You trust him.
