1. അനന്തരം യേശു തിബെര്യ്യാസ് എന്ന ഗലീലക്കടലിന്റെ അക്കരെക്കു പോയി.

1. Some time later, Yeshua went over to the far side of Lake Kinneret (that is, Lake Tiberias),

2. അവന് രോഗികളില് ചെയ്യുന്ന അടയാളങ്ങളെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഒരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു.

2. and a large crowd followed him, because they had seen the miracles he had performed on the sick.

3. Yeshua went up into the hills and sat down there with his [talmidim].

4. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പെസഹ പെരുന്നാള് അടുത്തിരുന്നു.

4. Now the Judean festival of [Pesach] was coming up;

5. യേശു വലിയൊരു പുരുഷാരം തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടുഇവര്ക്കും തിന്നുവാന് നാം എവിടെ നിന്നു അപ്പം വാങ്ങും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

5. so when Yeshua looked up and saw that a large crowd was approaching, he said to Philip, 'Where will we be able to buy bread, so that these people can eat?'

6. (Now Yeshua said this to test Philip, for Yeshua himself knew what he was about to do.)

7. Philip answered, 'Half a year's wages wouldn't buy enough bread for them- each one would get only a bite!'

8. One of the [talmidim], Andrew the brother of Shim'on Kefa, said to him,

9. ഇവിടെ ഒരു ബാലകന് ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പക്കല് അഞ്ചു യവത്തപ്പവും രണ്ടു മീനും ഉണ്ടു; എങ്കിലും ഇത്രപേര്ക്കും അതു എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. 'There's a young fellow here who has five loaves of barley bread and two fish. But how far will they go among so many?'

10. ആളുകളെ ഇരുത്തുവിന് എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ സ്ഥലത്തു വളരെ പുല്ലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അയ്യായിരത്തോളം പുരുഷന്മാര് ഇരുന്നു.

10. Yeshua said, 'Have the people sit down.' There was a lot of grass there, so they sat down. The number of men was about five thousand.

11. പിന്നെ യേശു അപ്പം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി, ഇരുന്നവര്ക്കും പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മീനും വേണ്ടുന്നേടത്തോളം കൊടുത്തു.

11. Then Yeshua took the loaves of bread, and, after making a [b'rakhah], gave to all who were sitting there, and likewise with the fish, as much as they wanted.

12. അവര്ക്കും തൃപ്തിയായശേഷം അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുശേഷിച്ച കഷണം ഒന്നും നഷ്ടമാക്കാതെ ശേഖരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. After they had eaten their fill, he told his [talmidim], 'Gather the leftover pieces, so that nothing gets wasted.'

13. അഞ്ചു യവത്തപ്പത്തില് തിന്നു ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം അവര് ശേഖരിച്ചു പന്ത്രണ്ടു കൊട്ട നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.

13. They gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.

14. അവന് ചെയ്ത അടയാളം ആളുകള് കണ്ടിട്ടുലോകത്തിലേക്കു വരുവാനുള്ള പ്രവാചകന് ഇവന് ആകുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. When the people saw the miracle he had performed, they said, 'This has to be 'the prophet' who is supposed to come into the world.'

15. Yeshua knew that they were on the point of coming and seizing him, in order to make him king; so he went back to the hills again. This time he went by himself.

16. സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കടല്പുറത്തേക്കു ഇറങ്ങി

16. When evening came, his [talmidim] went down to the lake,

17. പടകുകയറി കടലക്കരെ കഫര്ന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി; ഇരുട്ടായശേഷവും യേശു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരുന്നില്ല.

17. got into a boat and set out across the lake toward K'far-Nachum. By now it was dark, Yeshua had not yet joined them,

18. കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു അടിക്കയാല് കടല് കോപിച്ചു.

18. and the sea was getting rough, because a strong wind was blowing.

19. അവര് നാലു അഞ്ചു നാഴിക ദൂരത്തോളം വലിച്ചശേഷം യേശു കടലിന്മേല് നടന്നു പടകിനോടു സമീപിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു പേടിച്ചു.

19. They had rowed three or four miles when they saw Yeshua approaching the boat, walking on the lake! They were terrified;

20. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് ആകുന്നു; പേടിക്കേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. but he said to them, 'Stop being afraid, it is I.'

21. അവര് അവനെ പടകില് കയറ്റുവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു; ഉടനെ പടകു അവര് പോകുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിപ്പോയി.

21. Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and instantly the boat reached the land they were heading for.

22. പിറ്റെന്നാള് കടല്ക്കരെ നിന്ന പുരുഷാരം ഒരു പടകല്ലാതെ അവിടെ വേറെ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നും, യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പടകില് കയറാതെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് മാത്രം പോയിരുന്നു എന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

22. The next day, the crowd which had stayed on the other side of the lake noticed that there had been only one boat there, and that Yeshua had not entered the boat with his [talmidim], but that the [talmidim] had been alone when they sailed off.

23. എന്നാല് കര്ത്താവു വാഴ്ത്തീട്ടു അവര് അപ്പം തിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിന്നരികെ തിബെര്യ്യാസില്നിന്നു ചെറുപടകുകള് എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

23. Then other boats, from Tiberias, came ashore near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had made the [b'rakhah].

24. യേശു അവിടെ ഇല്ല ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഇല്ല എന്നു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടപ്പോള് തങ്ങളും പടകു കയറി യേശുവിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് എത്തി.

24. Accordingly, when the crowd saw that neither Yeshua nor his [talmidim] were there, they themselves boarded the boats and made for K'far-Nachum in search of Yeshua.

25. കടലക്കരെ അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയപ്പോള്റബ്ബീ, നീ എപ്പോള് ഇവിടെ വന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നുയേശു

25. When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, 'Rabbi, when did you get here?'

26. Yeshua answered, 'Yes, indeed! I tell you, you're not looking for me because you saw miraculous signs, but because you ate the bread and had all you wanted!

27. നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല, നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്കു നിലനിലക്കുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പിന് ; അതു മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തരും. അവനെ പിതാവായ ദൈവം മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Don't work for the food which passes away but for the food that stays on into eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For this is the one on whom God the Father has put his seal.'

28. അവര് അവനോടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തികളെ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

28. So they said to him, 'What should we do in order to perform the works of God?'

29. Yeshua answered, 'Here's what the work of God is: to trust in the one he sent!'

30. അവര് അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടു നിന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്തു അടയാളം ചെയ്യുന്നു? എന്തു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു?

30. They said to him, '[Nu], what miracle will you do for us, so that we may see it and trust you? What work can you perform?

31. നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് മരുഭൂമിയില് മന്നാ തിന്നു; അവര്ക്കും തിന്നുവാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. Our fathers ate [man] in the desert- as it says in the [Tanakh], 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'

32. യേശു അവരോടുആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നുള്ള അപ്പം മോശെയല്ല നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നതു, എന്റെ പിതാവത്രേ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നുള്ള സാക്ഷാല് അപ്പം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തരുന്നതു.

32. Yeshua said to them, 'Yes, indeed! I tell you it wasn't Moshe who gave you the bread from heaven. But my Father is giving you the genuine bread from heaven;

33. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അപ്പമോ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു ലോകത്തിന്നു ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. for God's bread is the one who comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.'

34. അവര് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ഈ അപ്പം എപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. They said to him, 'Sir, give us this bread from now on.'

35. യേശു അവരോടുപറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നവന്നു വിശക്കയില്ല; എന്നില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഒരു നാളും ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല.

35. Yeshua answered, 'I am the bread which is life! Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever trusts in me will never be thirsty.

36. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ കണ്ടിട്ടും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

36. I told you that you have seen but still don't trust.

37. പിതാവു എനിക്കു തരുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരും; എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നവനെ ഞാന് ഒരുനാളും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ല.

37. Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will certainly not turn away.

38. ഞാന് എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്വാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

38. For I have come down from heaven to do not my own will but the will of the One who sent me.

39. അവന് എനിക്കു തന്നതില് ഒന്നും ഞാന് കളയാതെ എല്ലാം ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം.

39. And this is the will of the One who sent me: that I should not lose any of all those he has given me but should raise them up on the Last Day.

40. പുത്രനെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടാകേണമെന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം; ഞാന് അവനെ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.

40. Yes, this is the will of my Father: that all who see the Son and trust in him should have eternal life, and that I should raise them up on the Last Day.'

41. ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതിനാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പിറുപിറുത്തു

41. At this the Judeans began grumbling about him because he said, 'I am the bread which has come down from heaven.'

42. ഇവന് യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു അല്ലയോ? അവന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; പിന്നെ ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

42. They said, 'Isn't this Yeshua Ben-Yosef? We know his father and mother! How can he now say, 'I have come down from heaven'?'

43. യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് പിറുപിറുക്കേണ്ടാ;

43. Yeshua answered them, 'Stop grumbling to each other!

44. എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവു ആകര്ഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാതെ ആര്ക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് കഴികയില്ല; ഞാന് ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില് അവനെ ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.

44. No one can come to me unless the Father- the One who sent me- draws him. And I will raise him up on the Last Day.

45. എല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്താല് ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് ആകും എന്നു പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പിതാവിനോടു കേട്ടുപഠിച്ചവന് എല്ലാം എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരും.

45. It is written in the Prophets, 'They will all be taught by ADONAI.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.

46. പിതാവിനെ ആരെങ്കിലും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നു വന്നവന് മാത്രമേ പിതാവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള.

46. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God- he has seen the Father.

47. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളൊടു പറയുന്നുവിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു.

47. Yes, indeed! I tell you, whoever trusts has eternal life:

48. ഞാന് ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.

48. I am the bread which is life.

49. നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് മരുഭൂമിയില് മന്നാ തിന്നിട്ടും മരിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

49. Your fathers ate the [man] in the desert; they died.

50. ഇതോ തിന്നുന്നവന് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുന്ന അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.

50. But the bread that comes down from heaven is such that a person may eat it and not die.

51. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയ ജീവനുള്ള അപ്പം ഞാന് ആകുന്നു; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവന് എല്ലാം എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും; ഞാന് കൊടുപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന അപ്പമോ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് കൊടുക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മാംസം ആകുന്നു.

51. I am the living bread that has come down from heaven; if anyone eats this bread, he will live forever. Furthermore, the bread that I will give is my own flesh; and I will give it for the life of the world.'

52. ആകയാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര്നമുക്കു തന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നേണ്ടതിന്നു തരുവാന് ഇവന്നു എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തമ്മില് വാദിച്ചു.

52. At this, the Judeans disputed with one another, saying, 'How can this man give us his flesh to eat?'

53. യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുനിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നാതെയും അവന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉള്ളില് ജീവന് ഇല്ല.

53. Then Yeshua said to them, 'Yes, indeed! I tell you that unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves.

54. എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില് അവനെ ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.

54. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life- that is, I will raise him up on the Last Day.

55. എന്റെ മാംസം സാക്ഷാല് ഭക്ഷണവും എന്റെ രക്തം സാക്ഷാല് പാനീയവും ആകുന്നു.

55. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.

56. എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് എന്നിലും ഞാന് അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.

56. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I live in him.

57. ജീവനുള്ള പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടു ഞാന് പിതാവിന് മൂലം ജീവിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെ തിന്നുന്നവന് എന് മൂലം ജീവിക്കും.

57. Just as the living Father sent me, and I live through the Father, so also whoever eats me will live through me.

58. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം ഇതു ആകുന്നു; പിതാക്കന്മാര് തിന്നുകയും മരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അല്ല; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവന് എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും.

58. So this is the bread that has come down from heaven- it is not like the bread the fathers ate; they're dead, but whoever eats this bread will live forever!'

59. അവന് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോള് പള്ളിയില്വെച്ചു ഇതു പറഞ്ഞു.

59. He said these things as he was teaching in a synagogue in K'far-Nachum.

60. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പലരും അതു കേട്ടിട്ടുഇതു കഠിനവാക്കു, ഇതു ആര്ക്കും കേള്പ്പാന് കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

60. On hearing it, many of his [talmidim] said, 'This is a hard word- who can bear to listen to it?'

61. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതിനെച്ചൊല്ലി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു യേശു തന്നില്തന്നേ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടുഇതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇടര്ച്ച ആകുന്നുവോ?

61. But Yeshua, aware that his [talmidim] were grumbling about this, said to them, 'This is a trap for you?

62. മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന് മുമ്പെ ഇരുന്നേടത്തേക്കു കയറിപ്പോകുന്നതു നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടാലോ?

62. Suppose you were to see the Son of Man going back up to where he was before?

63. ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു; മാംസം ഒന്നിന്നും ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനങ്ങള് ആത്മാവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു.

63. It is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh is no help. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life,

64. yet some among you do not trust.' (For Yeshua knew from the outset which ones would not trust him, also which one would betray him.)

65. ഇതു ഹേതുവായിട്ടത്രേ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടുപിതാവു കൃപ നല്കീട്ടല്ലാതെ ആര്ക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

65. This,' he said, 'is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has made it possible for him.'

66. അന്നുമുതല് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് പലരും പിന് വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി, പിന്നെ അവനോടു കൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചില്ല.

66. From this time on, many of his [talmidim] turned back and no longer traveled around with him.

67. So Yeshua said to the Twelve, 'Don't you want to leave too?'

68. Shim'on Kefa answered him, 'Lord, to whom would we go? You have the word of eternal life.

69. നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന് എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ചും അറിഞ്ഞും ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

69. We have trusted, and we know that you are the Holy One of God.'

70. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങളെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു പേരെ ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് ഒരു പിശാചു ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതു അവന് ശിമോന് ഈസ്കര്യയ്യോര്ത്താവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂദയെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

70. Yeshua answered them, 'Didn't I choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is an adversary.'
