1. പെന്തെക്കൊസ്തനാള് വന്നപ്പോള് എല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

1. And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were al with one accord in one place.

2. പെട്ടെന്നു കൊടിയ കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകാശത്തനിന്നു ഒരു മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായി, അവര് ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന വീടു മുഴുവനും നിറെച്ചു.

2. And suddenly there came a sounde from heauen, as of a russhing and mightie winde, and it filled all the house where they sate.

3. അഗ്നി ജ്വാലപോലെ പിളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നാവുകള് അവര്ക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തന്റെ മേല് പതിഞ്ഞു.

3. And there appeared vnto them clouen tongues, like fire, and it sate vpon eche of them.

4. എല്ലാവരുംപരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ആത്മാവു അവര്ക്കും ഉച്ചരിപ്പാന് നല്കിയതുപോലെ അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

4. And they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and began to speake with other tongues, as the Spirit gaue them vtterance.

5. അന്നു ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള സകല ജാതികളില് നിന്നും യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരായ ഭക്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. And there were dwelling at Hierusalem Iewes, men that feared God, of euery nation vnder heauen.

6. ഈ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോള് പുരുഷാരം വന്നു കൂടി, ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ഭാഷയില് അവര് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു അമ്പരന്നു പോയി.

6. Nowe when this was noised, the multitude came together and were astonied, because that euery man heard them speake his owne language.

7. എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടുഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവര് എല്ലാം ഗലീലക്കാര് അല്ലയോ?

7. And they wondered al, and marueiled, saying among themselues, Beholde, are not all these which speake, of Galile?

8. പിന്നെ നാം ഔരോരുത്തന് ജനിച്ച നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്ത ഭാഷയില് അവര് സംസാരിച്ചു കേള്ക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

8. How then heare we euery man our owne language, wherein we were borne?

9. പര്ത്ഥരും മേദ്യരും ഏലാമ്യരും മെസപ്പൊത്താമ്യയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലും കപ്പദോക്യയിലും

9. Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the inhabitants of Mesopotamia, and of Iudea, and of Cappadocia, of Pontus, and Asia,

10. പൊന്തൊസിലും ആസ്യയിലും പ്രുഗ്യയിലും പംഫുല്യയിലും മിസ്രയീമിലും കുറേനെക്കു ചേര്ന്ന ലിബ്യാപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും റോമയില് നിന്നു വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും യെഹൂദന്മാരും യെഹൂദ മതാനുസാരികളും ക്രേത്യരും അറബിക്കാരുമായ നാം

10. And of Phrygia, and Pamphylia, of Egypt, and of the partes of Libya, which is beside Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, and Iewes, and Proselytes,

11. ഈ നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളില് അവര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വന് കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേള്ക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Creetes, and Arabians: wee hearde them speake in our owne tongues the wonderful works of God.

12. എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു; ഇതു എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

12. They were all then amased, and douted, saying one to another, What may this be?

13. ഇവര് പുതു വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. And others mocked, and saide, They are full of newe wine.

14. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് പതിനൊന്നുപേരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഉറക്കെ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും യെരൂശലേമില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന എല്ലാവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഇതു നിങ്ങള് അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

14. But Peter standing with ye Eleuen, lift vp his voice, and said vnto them, Ye men of Iudea, and ye all that inhabite Hierusalem, be this knowen vnto you, and hearken vnto my woordes.

15. നിങ്ങള് ഊഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇവര് ലഹരി പിടിച്ചവരല്ല; പകല് മൂന്നാംമണിനേരമേ ആയിട്ടുള്ളുവല്ലോ.

15. For these are not drunken, as yee suppose, since it is but the third houre of the day.

16. ഇതു യോവേല് പ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതത്രേ; അതെന്തെന്നാല്

16. But this is that, which was spoken by the Prophet Ioel,

17. “അന്ത്യകാലത്തു ഞാന് സകല ജഡത്തിന്മേലും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ യൌവ്വനക്കാര് ദര്ശനങ്ങള് ദര്ശിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാര് സ്വപ്നങ്ങള് കാണും.”

17. And it shalbe in the last daies, saith God, I wil powre out of my Spirite vpon al flesh, and your sonnes, and your daughters shall prophecie, and your yong men shall see visions, and your old men shall dreame dreames.

18. എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെമേലും ദാസിമാരുടെമേലും കൂടെ ഞാന് ആ നാളുകളില് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; അവരും പ്രവചിക്കും.

18. And on my seruauntes, and on mine handmaides I will powre out of my Spirite in those daies, and they shall prophecie.

19. ഞാന് മീതെ ആകാശത്തില് അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും താഴെ ഭൂമിയില് അടയാളങ്ങളും കാണിക്കും; രക്തവും തീയും പുകയാവിയും തന്നേ.

19. And I wil shew wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and the vapour of smoke.

20. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വലുതും പ്രസിദ്ധവുമായ നാള് വരുംമുമ്പേ സൂര്യന് ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രന് രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.

20. The Sunne shalbe turned into darkenesse, and the moone into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.

21. എന്നാല് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”

21. And it shalbe, that whosoeuer shall call on the Name of the Lord, shalbe saued.

22. യിസ്രായേല് പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഈ വചനം കേട്ടു കൊള്വിന് . നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ അറിയുംപോലെ ദൈവം അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ നടുവില് ചെയ്യിച്ച ശക്തികളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടു

22. Yee men of Israel, heare these woordes, JESUS of Nazareth, a man approued of God among you with great workes, and wonders, and signes, which God did by him in the middes of you, as yee your selues also knowe:

23. ദൈവം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്ന പുരുഷനായി നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്ഥിര നിര്ണ്ണയത്താലും മുന്നറിവിനാലും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു, നിങ്ങള് അവനെ അധര്മ്മികളുടെ കയ്യാല് തറെപ്പിച്ചു കൊന്നു;

23. Him, I say, being deliuered by the determinate counsell, and foreknowledge of God, after you had taken, with wicked handes you haue crucified and slaine.

24. ദൈവമോ മരണപാശങ്ങളെ അഴിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു. മരണം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു വെക്കുന്നതു അസാദ്ധ്യമായിരുന്നു.

24. Whome God hath raised vp, and loosed the sorrowes of death, because it was vnpossible that he should be holden of it.

25. “ഞാന് കര്ത്താവിനെ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പില് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്റെ വലഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്കയാല് ഞാന് കുലുങ്ങിപോകയില്ല. അതു കൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം സന്തോഷിച്ചു, എന്റെ നാവു ആനന്ദിച്ചു, എന്റെ ജഡവും പ്രത്യാശയോടെ വസിക്കും.”

25. For Dauid sayeth concerning him, I beheld the Lord alwaies before me: for hee is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken.

26. നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ പാതാളത്തില് വിടുകയില്ല; നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ദ്രവത്വം കാണ്മാന് സമ്മതിക്കയുമില്ല.

26. Therefore did mine heart reioyce, and my tongue was glad, and moreouer also my flesh shall rest in hope,

27. നീ ജീവമാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ എന്നോടു അറിയിച്ചു; നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് എന്നെ സന്തോഷ പൂര്ണ്ണനാക്കും” എന്നു ദാവീദ് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

27. Because thou wilt not leaue my soule in graue, neither wilt suffer thine Holy one to see corruption.

28. സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഗോത്രപിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവന് മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളോടു ധൈര്യമായി പറയാം; അവന്റെ കല്ലറ ഇന്നുവരെ നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

28. Thou hast shewed me the waies of life, and shalt make me full of ioy with thy countenance.

29. എന്നാല് അവന് പ്രവാചകന് ആകയാല് ദൈവം അവന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ഫലത്തില് നിന്ന് ഒരുത്തനെ അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരുത്തും എന്നു തന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത് ഉറപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അറഞ്ഞിട്ടു

29. Men and brethren, I may boldly speake vnto you of the Patriarke Dauid, that hee is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre remaineth with vs vnto this day.

30. Therefore, seeing hee was a Prophet, and knewe that God had sworne with an othe to him, that of the fruite of his loynes hee woulde raise vp Christ concerning the flesh, to set him vpon his throne,

31. Hee knowing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soule shoulde not bee left in graue, neither his flesh shoulde see corruption.

33. Since then that he by the right hande of God hath bene exalted, and hath receiued of his Father the promise of the holy Ghost, hee hath shed foorth this which yee nowe see and heare.

34. For Dauid is not ascended into heauen, but he sayth, The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hande,

35. Vntill I make thine enemies thy footestoole.

36. ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവര് ഹൃദയത്തില് കുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പത്രൊസിനോടും ശേഷം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടുംസഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for a suretie, that God hath made him both Lord, and Christ, this Iesus, I say, whome yee haue crucified.

37. പത്രൊസ് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളുടെ മോചനത്തിന്നായി ഔരോരുത്തന് യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് സ്നാനം ഏല്പിന് ; എന്നാല് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന ദാനം ലഭിക്കും.

37. Now when they heard it, they were pricked in their heartes, and said vnto Peter and the other Apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we doe?

38. വാഗ്ദത്തം നിങ്ങള്ക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്ക്കും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവു വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുന്ന ദൂരസ്ഥന്മാരായ ഏവര്ക്കും ഉള്ളതല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. Then Peter said vnto them, Amend your liues, and bee baptized euery one of you in the Name of Iesus Christ for the remission of sinnes: and ye shall receiue the gift of the holy Ghost.

39. മറ്റു പല വാക്കുകളാലും അവന് സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു; ഈ വക്രതയുള്ള തലമുറയില്നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. For the promise is made vnto you, and to your children, and to all that are a farre off, euen as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40. And with many other words he besought and exhorted them, saying, Saue your selues from this froward generation.

41. അവര് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ ഉപദേശം കേട്ടും കൂട്ടായ്മ ആചരിച്ചും അപ്പം നുറക്കിയും പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കഴിച്ചും പോന്നു.

41. Then they that gladly receiued his word, were baptized: and the same day there were added to the Church about three thousand soules.

42. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഭയമായി; അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരാല് ഏറിയ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും നടന്നു.

42. And they continued in the Apostles doctrine, and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and prayers.

43. വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്നു

43. And feare came vpon euery soule: and many wonders and signes were done by ye Apostles.

44. സകലവും പൊതുവക എന്നു എണ്ണുകയും ജന്മഭൂമികളും വസ്തുക്കളും വിറ്റു അവനവന്നു ആവശ്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പങ്കിടുകയും,

44. And all that beleeued, were in one place, and had all things common.

45. ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദിനംപ്രതി ദൈവാലയത്തില് കൂടിവരികയും വീട്ടില് അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ഉല്ലാസവും ഹൃദയപരമാര്ത്ഥതയും പൂണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയും ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കയും സകല ജനത്തിന്റെയും കൃപ അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. കര്ത്താവു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെ ദിനംപ്രതി സഭയോടു ചേര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

45. And they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all me, as euery one had need.
