1. പെന്തെക്കൊസ്തനാള് വന്നപ്പോള് എല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

1. And in the fulfilling of the day of Pentecost, they were all with one mind in the same place.

2. പെട്ടെന്നു കൊടിയ കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകാശത്തനിന്നു ഒരു മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായി, അവര് ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന വീടു മുഴുവനും നിറെച്ചു.

2. And suddenly a sound came out of the heaven, as being borne along by a violent wind! And it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3. അഗ്നി ജ്വാലപോലെ പിളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നാവുകള് അവര്ക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തന്റെ മേല് പതിഞ്ഞു.

3. And tongues as of fire appeared to them, being distributed, and it sat on each one of them.

4. എല്ലാവരുംപരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ആത്മാവു അവര്ക്കും ഉച്ചരിപ്പാന് നല്കിയതുപോലെ അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

4. And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave ability to them to speak.

5. അന്നു ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള സകല ജാതികളില് നിന്നും യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരായ ഭക്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. And Jews were living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven.

6. ഈ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോള് പുരുഷാരം വന്നു കൂടി, ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ഭാഷയില് അവര് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു അമ്പരന്നു പോയി.

6. But this sound occurring, the multitude came together and were confounded, because they each heard them speaking in his own dialect.

7. എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടുഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവര് എല്ലാം ഗലീലക്കാര് അല്ലയോ?

7. And all were amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Behold, are not all these, those speaking, Galileans?

8. പിന്നെ നാം ഔരോരുത്തന് ജനിച്ച നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്ത ഭാഷയില് അവര് സംസാരിച്ചു കേള്ക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

8. And how do we hear each in our own dialect in which we were born,

9. പര്ത്ഥരും മേദ്യരും ഏലാമ്യരും മെസപ്പൊത്താമ്യയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലും കപ്പദോക്യയിലും

9. Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those living in Mesopotamia, both Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

10. പൊന്തൊസിലും ആസ്യയിലും പ്രുഗ്യയിലും പംഫുല്യയിലും മിസ്രയീമിലും കുറേനെക്കു ചേര്ന്ന ലിബ്യാപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും റോമയില് നിന്നു വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും യെഹൂദന്മാരും യെഹൂദ മതാനുസാരികളും ക്രേത്യരും അറബിക്കാരുമായ നാം

10. both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the regions of Libya over against Cyrene, and the temporarily residing Romans, both Jews and proselytes,

11. ഈ നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളില് അവര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വന് കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേള്ക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Cretans and Arabians; in our own languages we hear them speaking the great deeds of God?

12. എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു; ഇതു എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And all were amazed and puzzled, saying to one another, What would this wish to be?

13. ഇവര് പുതു വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. But ridiculing, others said, They are full of sweet wine.

14. But standing up with the Eleven, Peter lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, Men, Jews, and all those living in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words:

15. For these are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is the third hour of the day.

16. But this is that which has been spoken by the prophet Joel,

17. “അന്ത്യകാലത്തു ഞാന് സകല ജഡത്തിന്മേലും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ യൌവ്വനക്കാര് ദര്ശനങ്ങള് ദര്ശിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാര് സ്വപ്നങ്ങള് കാണും.”

17. 'And it shall be' in the last days, God says, 'I will pour from My Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy;' 'and your young men shall see visions,' 'and your old men shall dream dreams;'

18. 'and also I will pour out My Spirit on My slaves and slave women in those days,' and they shall prophesy.

19. ഞാന് മീതെ ആകാശത്തില് അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും താഴെ ഭൂമിയില് അടയാളങ്ങളും കാണിക്കും; രക്തവും തീയും പുകയാവിയും തന്നേ.

19. And I will give wonders in the heaven above,' and miraculous signs 'on the earth below, blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

20. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വലുതും പ്രസിദ്ധവുമായ നാള് വരുംമുമ്പേ സൂര്യന് ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രന് രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.

20. The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the' 'coming of the great and glorious' 'day of the Lord.'

21. എന്നാല് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”

21. And it shall be that everyone who shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved.' Joel 2:28-32

24. But God raised Him up, loosing the throes of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

25. For David said as to Him, 'I always foresaw the Lord before Me, because He is at My right hand, that I not be moved.

27. because You will not leave My soul in Hades, nor will You give Your Holy One to see corruption.

28. സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഗോത്രപിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവന് മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളോടു ധൈര്യമായി പറയാം; അവന്റെ കല്ലറ ഇന്നുവരെ നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

37. And hearing, they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men, brothers, What shall we do?

38. And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you on the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

42. And they were continuing steadfastly in the doctrine of the apostles, and in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43. And fear came to every soul, and many wonders and miraculous signs took place through the apostles.

44. സകലവും പൊതുവക എന്നു എണ്ണുകയും ജന്മഭൂമികളും വസ്തുക്കളും വിറ്റു അവനവന്നു ആവശ്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പങ്കിടുകയും,

44. And all the believers were together and had all things common.

45. ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദിനംപ്രതി ദൈവാലയത്തില് കൂടിവരികയും വീട്ടില് അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ഉല്ലാസവും ഹൃദയപരമാര്ത്ഥതയും പൂണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയും ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കയും സകല ജനത്തിന്റെയും കൃപ അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. കര്ത്താവു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെ ദിനംപ്രതി സഭയോടു ചേര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

45. And they sold possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
