1. സ്നേഹം ആചരിപ്പാന് ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിന് ! ആത്മികവരങ്ങളും വിശേഷാല് പ്രവചനവരവും വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിന് .

1. Labour for love and covet spretuall giftes: and most chefly forto prophesye.

2. അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് മനുഷ്യരോടല്ല ദൈവത്തോടത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ആരും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; എങ്കിലും അവന് ആത്മാവില് മര്മ്മങ്ങളെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

2. For he that speaketh with toges speaketh not vnto men but vnto god for no man heareth him how be it in the sprete he speaketh misteries.

3. പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവനോ ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കും പ്രബോധനത്തിന്നും ആശ്വാസത്തിന്നുമായി മനുഷ്യരോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

3. But he that prophesieth speaketh vnto men to edifyinge to exhortacion and to comforte.

4. അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് തനിക്കുതാന് ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു; പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവന് സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു.

4. He that speaketh with tonges proffiteth him silfe: he that prophesyeth edifieth the congregacion.

5. നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും വിശേഷാല് പ്രവചിക്കേണം എന്നും ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവന് അവനെക്കാള് വലിയവന് .

5. I wolde that ye all spake with tonges: but rather that ye prophesied. For greater is he that prophisieth? then he yt speaketh with tonges except he expounde it also that the congregacion maye have edifyinge.

6. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാന് വെളിപ്പാടായിട്ടോ ജ്ഞാനമായിട്ടോ പ്രവചനമായിട്ടോ ഉപദേശമായിട്ടോ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കാതെ അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം വരും?

6. Now brehren if I come vnto you speakige wt tonges: what shall I profit you excepte I speake vnto you other by revelacio or knowledge or prophesyinge or doctrine.

7. കുഴല്, വീണ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാദം കൊടുക്കുന്ന നിര്ജ്ജീവസാധനങ്ങള് തന്നേയും നാദഭേദം കാണിക്കാഞ്ഞാല് ഊതിയതോ മീട്ടിയതോ എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും?

7. Moreover whe thinges with out lyfe geve sounde: whether it be a pype or an harpe: except they make a distinccion in the soundes: how shall it be knowen what is pyped or harped?

8. കാഹളം തെളിവില്ലാത്ത നാദം കൊടുത്താല് പടെക്കു ആര് ഒരുങ്ങും?

8. And also if the trope geve an vncertayne voyce who shall prepare him silfe to fyght?

9. അതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും നാവുകൊണ്ടു തെളിവായ വാക്കു ഉച്ചരിക്കാഞ്ഞാല് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും? നിങ്ങള് കാറ്റിനോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവര് ആകുമല്ലോ.

9. Eve so lykwyse whe ye speake with toges excepte ye speake wordes that have signification how shall yt be vnderstonde what is spoke? For ye shall but speake in the ayer.

10. ലോകത്തില് വിവിധ ഭാഷകള് അനവധി ഉണ്ടു; അവയില് ഒന്നും തെളിവില്ലാത്തതല്ല.

10. Many kyndes of voyces are in the worlde and none of them are with out signification.

11. ഞാന് ഭാഷ അറിയാഞ്ഞാല് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാന് ബര്ബ്ബരന് ആയിരിക്കും; സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് എനിക്കും ബര്ബ്ബരന് ആയിരിക്കും.

11. If I knowe not what the voyce meaneth I shalbe vnto him that speaketh an alient: and and he that speaketh shalbe an alient vnto me

12. അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും ആത്മവരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വാഞ്ഛയുള്ളവരാകയാല് സഭയുടെ ആത്മിക വര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി സഫലന്മാര് ആകുവാന് ശ്രമിപ്പിന് .

12. Eve so ye (for as moche as ye covet spretuall giftes) seke that ye maye have plentye vnto ye edifyinge of the congregacion.

13. അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് വ്യാഖ്യാനവരത്തിന്നായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കട്ടെ.

13. Wherfore let him that speaketh with tonges praye that he maye interpret also.

14. ഞാന് അന്യഭാഷയില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ ആത്മാവു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയോ അഫലമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. If I praye with tonge my sprete prayeth: but my mynde is with out frute.

15. ആകയാല് എന്തു? ഞാന് ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പാടും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പാടും.

15. What is it then? I will praye with the sprete ad will praye wt the mynde also. I will singe with the sprete and will singe with the mynde also.

16. അല്ല, നീ ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലിയാല് ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവന് നീ പറയുന്നതു തിരിയാതിരിക്കെ നിന്റെ സ്തോത്രത്തിന്നു എങ്ങനെ ആമേന് പറയും?

16. For els when thou blessest with ye sprete how shall he that occupieth the roume of the vnlearned saye amen at thy gevinge of thankes seynge he vnderstondeth not what thou sayest

17. നീ നന്നായി സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലുന്നു സത്യം; മറ്റവന്നു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുന്നില്ലതാനും.

17. 17. Thou verely gevest thankes well but the other is not edyfied.

18. നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരിലും അധികം ഞാന് അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

18. I thanke my god I speake with toges moare then ye all.

19. എങ്കിലും സഭയില് പതിനായിരം വാക്കു അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അധികം മറ്റുള്ളവരെയും പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചുവാക്കു പറവാന് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

19. Yet had I lever in ye cogregacio to speake five wordes with my mynde to ye informacio of other rather then ten thousande wordes wt the tonge.

20. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ബുദ്ധിയില് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള് ആകരുതു; തിന്മെക്കു ശിശുക്കള് ആയിരിപ്പിന് ; ബുദ്ധിയിലോ മുതിര്ന്നവരാകുവിന് .

20. Brethre be not chyldre in witte. How be it as cocerninge maliciousnes be chyldre: but in witte be perfet.

21. “അന്യഭാഷകളാലും അന്യന്മാരുടെ അധരങ്ങളാലും ഞാന് ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും എങ്കിലും അവര് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

21. In the lawe it is written with other toges and with other lyppes wyll I speake vnto this people and yet for all that will they not heare me sayth the Lorde.

22. അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷകള് അടയാളമായിരിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കല്ല, അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കത്രേ; പ്രവചനമോ അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കല്ല, വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കു തന്നേ.

22. Wherfore tonges are for a signe not to them that beleve: but to them that beleve not. Contrary wyse prophesyinge serveth not for them that beleve not: but for them which beleve.

23. സഭ ഒക്കെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവരോ അവിശ്വാസികളോ അകത്തു വന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

23. Yf therfore when all the cogregacion is come to gedder and all speake with tonges ther come in they yt are vnlearned or they which beleve not: will they not saye that ye are out of youre wittes?

24. എല്ലാവരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അവിശ്വാസിയോ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവനോ അകത്തു വന്നാല് എല്ലാവരുടെ വാക്കിനാലും അവന്നു പാപബോധം വരും; അവന് എല്ലാവരാലും വിവേചിക്കപ്പെടും.

24. But and yf all prophesy and ther come in one that beleveth not or one vnlearned he is rebuked of all men and is iudged of every man:

25. അവന്റെ ഹൃദയരഹസ്യങ്ങളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെ അവന് കവിണ്ണുവീണു, ദൈവം വാസ്തവമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കും.

25. and so are ye secretes of his hert opened and so falleth he doune on his face and worshippeth God and sayth yt God is wt you in dede.

26. ആകയാല് എന്തു? സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് കൂടിവരുമ്പോള് ഔരോരുത്തന്നു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം ഉണ്ടു, ഉപദേശം ഉണ്ടു, വെളിപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടു, അന്യഭാഷ ഉണ്ടു, വ്യഖ്യാനം ഉണ്ടു, സകലവും ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി ഉതകട്ടെ.

26. How is it then brethre? When ye come to gedder every ma hath his songe hath his doctryne hath his toge hath his revelacio hath his interpretacio. Let all thinges be done vnto edifyinge.

27. അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് രണ്ടു പേരോ ഏറിയാല് മൂന്നുപേരോ ആകട്ടെ; അവര് ഔരോരുത്തനായി സംസാരിക്കയും ഒരുവന് വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

27. If eny man speake wt tonges let it be two at once or at the most thre at once and that by course: and let another interprete it.

28. വ്യാഖ്യാനി ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് അന്യഭാഷക്കാരന് സഭയില് മിണ്ടാതെ തന്നോടും ദൈവത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ.

28. But yf ther be no interpreter let him kepe silence in the cogregacion and let him speake to him selfe and to God.

29. പ്രവാചകന്മാര് രണ്ടു മൂന്നു പേര് സംസാരിക്കയും മറ്റുള്ളവര് വിവേചിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

29. Let the Prophetes speake two at once or thre at once and let other iudge.

30. ഇരിക്കുന്നവനായ മറ്റൊരുവന്നു വെളിപ്പാടുണ്ടായാലോ ഒന്നാമത്തവന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

30. Yf eny revelacio be made to another that sitteth by let the fyrst holde his peace.

31. എല്ലാവരും പഠിപ്പാനും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനുമായി നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഔരോരുത്തനായി പ്രവചിക്കാമല്ലോ.

31. For ye maye all prophesy one by one that all maye learne and all maye have comforte.

32. പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കള് പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

32. For ye spretes of the Prophetes are in the power of the Prophetes.

33. ദൈവം കലക്കത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ല സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമത്രേ.

33. For God is not causer of stryfe: but of peace as he is in all other congregacions of the saynctes.

34. വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ സര്വ്വസഭകളിലും എന്നപോലെ സ്ത്രീകള് സഭായോഗങ്ങളില് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പറയുന്നതുപോലെ കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനല്ലാതെ സംസാരിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും അനുവാദമില്ല.

34. Let youre wyves kepe silence in the cogregacions. For it is not permitted vnto them to speake: but let them be vnder obedience as sayth the lawe.

35. അവര് വല്ലതും പഠിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് വീട്ടില്വെച്ചു ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടേ; സ്ത്രീ സഭയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു അനുചിതമല്ലോ.

35. If they will learne enythinge let the axe their husbandes at home. For it is a shame for wemen to speake in the cogregacio.

36. ദൈവവചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നോ പുറപ്പെട്ടതു? അല്ല, നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മാത്രമോ വന്നതു?

36. Sproge ye worde of god fro you? Ether came it vnto you only?

37. താന് പ്രവാചകന് എന്നോ ആത്മികന് എന്നോ ഒരുത്തന്നു തോന്നുന്നു എങ്കില്, ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എഴുതുന്നതു കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കല്പന ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.

37. Yf eny ma thinke him sylfe a prophet ether spirituall: let him vnderstonde what thinges I write vnto you. For they are the comaundementes of the Lorde.

38. ഒരുവന് അറിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവന് അറിയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

38. But and yf eny man be ignorat let him be ignorant.

39. അതുകൊണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരേ, പ്രവചനവരം വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിന് ; അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു വിലക്കുകയുമരുതു. സകലവും ഉചിതമായും ക്രമമായും നടക്കട്ടെ.

39. Wherfore brethren covet to prophesye and forbyd not to speake with tonges.
