1. അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ നയമാന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരാമിന്നു ജയം നല്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ യജമാനന് അവനെ മഹാനും മാന്യനും ആയി എണ്ണി; അവന് പരാക്രമശാലി എങ്കിലും കുഷ്ഠരോഗി ആയിരുന്നു.
ലൂക്കോസ് 4:27

1. Now Naaman, the captain of the army of Syria, was a great man before his master, and highly respected, because by him the Lord had given deliverance to Syria, and the man was mighty in strength, [but] [he was] a leper.

2. അരാമ്യര് കവര്ച്ചപ്പടയായി വന്നിരുന്നപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ പെണ്കുട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോയിരുന്നു; അവള് നയമാന്റെ ഭാര്യെക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുവന്നു.

2. And the Syrians went forth in small bands, and took captive out of the land of Israel a young girl; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

3. അവള് തന്റെ യജമാനത്തിയോടുയജമാനന് ശമര്യ്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഒന്നു ചെന്നെങ്കില് അവന് അവന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And she said to her mistress, O that my lord were before the prophet of God in Samaria; then he would heal him from his leprosy.

4. അവന് ചെന്നു തന്റെ യജമാനനോടുയിസ്രായേല്ദേശക്കാരത്തിയായ പെണ്കുട്ടി ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

4. And she went in and told her lord, and said, Thus and thus spoke the girl from the land of Israel.

5. നീ പോയി വരിക; ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിന്നു ഒരു എഴുത്തു തരാം എന്നു അരാംരാജാവു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് പത്തു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും ആറായിരം ശേക്കെല് പൊന്നും പത്തു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും എടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

5. And the king of Syria said to Naaman, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he went, and took in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.

6. അവന് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് എഴുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു; അതില്ഈ എഴുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന എന്റെ ഭൃത്യന് നയമാന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നീ മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരുന്നു.

6. And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now then, as soon as this letter shall reach you, behold, I have sent to you my servant Naaman, and you shall heal him from his leprosy.

7. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചപ്പോള് വസ്ത്രം കീറിഅവന് ഇതാ, കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരാളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു! മരിപ്പിക്കയും ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്വാന് ഞാന് ദൈവമോ? നോക്കുവിന് , അവന് ഇതിനാല് എന്നോടു ശണ്ഠെക്കു കാരണം അന്വേഷിക്കയല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And it came to pass, when the king of Israel read the letter, [that] he tore his clothes, and said, [Am] I God, [able] to kill and to make alive, that this [man] sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? Consider, however, and see that this [man] seeks an occasion against me.

8. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശാ കേട്ടപ്പോള് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചുനീ വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? അവന് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരട്ടെ; എന്നാല് യിസ്രായേലില് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് അറിയും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

8. And it came to pass, when Elisha heard that the king of Israel had tore his clothes, that he sent to the king of Israel, saying, Why have you torn your clothes? Let Naaman come to me, and let him know that there is a prophet in Israel.

9. അങ്ങനെ നയമാന് രഥത്തോടും കുതിരകളോടുംകൂടെ എലീശയുടെ വീട്ടുവാതില്ക്കല് വന്നു നിന്നു.

9. So Naaman came with horse and chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10. എലീശാ ആളയച്ചുനീ ചെന്നു യോര്ദ്ദാനില് ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം കുളിക്ക; അപ്പോള് നിന്റെ ദേഹം മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെയായി നീ ശുദ്ധനാകും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
യോഹന്നാൻ 9:7

10. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh shall return to you, and you shall be cleansed.

11. അപ്പോള് നയമാന് ഏറ്റവും ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടുഅവന് തന്നേ പുറത്തുവന്നു അടുത്തുനിന്നു തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു തന്റെ കൈ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്മീതെ ആട്ടി ഇങ്ങനെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് വിചാരിച്ചു.

11. But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, Behold, I said to myself, He will by all means come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of his God, and lay his hand upon the place, and heal the leprosy.

12. ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ നദികളായ അബാനയും പര്പ്പരും യിസ്രായേല്ദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ വെള്ളങ്ങളെക്കാളും നല്ലതല്ലയോ? എനിക്കു അവയില് കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാകരുതോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന് ക്രോധത്തോടെ പോയി.

12. [Are] not the Abanah and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not go and wash in them, and be cleansed? And he turned and went away in a rage.

13. എന്നാല് അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാര് അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടുപിതാവേ, പ്രവാചകന് വലിയോരു കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് നീ ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? പിന്നെ അവന് കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചാല് എത്ര അധികം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. And his servants came near and said to him, [Suppose] the prophet had spoken a great thing to you, would you not perform it? Yet he has but said to you, Wash, and be cleansed.

14. അപ്പോള് അവന് ചെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം യോര്ദ്ദാനില് ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം മുങ്ങി; അവന്റെ ദേഹം ചെറിയ ബാലന്റെ ദേഹം പോലെ ആയി; അവന് ശുദ്ധനായ്തീര്ന്നു.

14. So Naaman went down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of Elisha; and his flesh returned to him as the flesh of a little child, and he was cleansed.

15. പിന്നെ അവന് തന്റെ സകലപരിവാരവുമായി ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങി വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേലില് അല്ലാതെ ഭൂമിയില് എങ്ങും ഒരു ദൈവം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് അറിയുന്നു; ആകയാല് അടിയന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു ഒരു പ്രതിഗ്രഹം കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And he and all his company returned to Elisha, and he came and stood before him, and said, Behold, I know that there is no God in all the earth, save only in Israel; and now receive a blessing from your servant.

16. അതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് സേവിച്ചുനിലക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണ, ഞാന് ഒന്നും കൈക്കൊള്ളുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കൈക്കൊള്വാന് അവനെ നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടും അവന് വാങ്ങിയില്ല.

16. And Elisha said, [As] the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will not take [anything]. And he pressed him to take [something]; but he would not.

17. അപ്പോള് നയമാന് എന്നാല് രണ്ടു കോവര്ക്കഴുതച്ചുമടു മണ്ണു അടിയന്നു തരുവിക്കേണമേ; അടിയന് ഇനി യഹോവെക്കല്ലാതെ അന്യദൈവങ്ങള്ക്കു ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും കഴിക്കയില്ല.

17. And Naaman said, Well then, if not, let there be given to your servant the load [of a] yoke of mules; and you shall give me of the red earth; for your servant will no longer offer whole burnt offerings or sacrifice to other gods, but only to the Lord by [reason of] this thing.

18. ഒരു കാര്യത്തില് മാത്രം യഹോവ അടിയനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെഎന്റെ യജമാനന് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് രിമ്മോന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് ചെന്നു എന്റെ കൈത്താങ്ങലോടെ കുമ്പിടുമ്പോള് ഞാനും രിമ്മോന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് നമസ്കരിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ഈ കാര്യത്തില് യഹോവ അടിയനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

18. And let the Lord be propitious to your servant when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he shall lean on my hand, and I shall bow down in the house of Rimmon, when he bows down in the house of Rimmon; even let the Lord be merciful to your servant in this matter.

19. അവന് അവനോടുസമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
മർക്കൊസ് 5:34

19. And Elisha said to Naaman, Go in peace. And he departed from him a little way.

20. അവന് അവനെ വിട്ടു കുറെ ദൂരം പോയശേഷം ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശയുടെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് ഗേഹസിഅരാമ്യന് നയമാന് കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്റെ യജമാനന് അവന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വാങ്ങാതെ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; യഹോവയാണ, ഞാന് അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അവനോടു അല്പമെങ്കിലും വാങ്ങുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And Gehazi the servant of Elisha said, Behold, my Lord has spared this Syrian Naaman, so as not to take of his hand what he has brought; as the Lord lives, I will surely run after him, and take something from him.

21. അങ്ങനെ അവന് നയമാനെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു. അവന് തന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഔടിവരുന്നതു നയമാന് കണ്ടപ്പോള് രഥത്തില്നിന്നിറങ്ങി അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുസുഖം തന്നെയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

21. So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And Naaman saw him running after him, and turned back from his chariot to meet him.

22. അതിന്നു അവന് സുഖം തന്നേ; ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യന്മാരില് രണ്ടു യൌവനക്കാര് എഫ്ര്യയീംമലനാട്ടില്നിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഒരു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും രണ്ടു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും തരേണമേ എന്നു പറവാന് എന്റെ യജമാനന് എന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And [Gehazi] said, All is well: my master has sent me, saying, Behold, now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from Mount Ephraim; please give them a talent of silver, and two changes of clothes.

23. ദയ ചെയ്തു രണ്ടു താലന്തു വാങ്ങേണമേ എന്നു നയമാന് പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവനെ നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു രണ്ടു സഞ്ചിയില് രണ്ടു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും രണ്ടു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും കെട്ടി തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരില് രണ്ടുപേരുടെ പക്കല് കൊടുത്തു; അവര് അതു ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് നടന്നു.

23. And [Naaman] said, Take two talents of silver. And he took two talents of silver in two bags, and two changes of clothing, and put them upon two of his servants, and they bore them before him.

24. കുന്നിന്നരികെ എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവന് അതു അവരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വാങ്ങി വീട്ടില് സൂക്ഷിച്ചു വെച്ചിട്ടു ബാല്യക്കാരെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവര് പോകയും ചെയ്തു.

24. And he came to a secret place, and took them from their hands, and laid them up in the house, and dismissed the men.

25. പിന്നെ അവന് അകത്തു കടന്നു യജമാനന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു. എന്നാറെ എലീശാ അവനോടുഗേഹസിയേ, നീ എവിടെ പോയിരുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അടിയന് എങ്ങും പോയില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And he went in himself and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him,

26. അതിന്നു അവന് ആ പുരുഷന് രഥത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി നിന്നെ എതിരേറ്റപ്പോള് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്നോടു കൂടെ പോന്നിരുന്നില്ലയോ? ദ്രവ്യം സമ്പാദിപ്പാനും വസ്ത്രം, ഒലിവുതോട്ടം, മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം, ആടുമാടുകള്, ദാസീദാസന്മാര് എന്നീവകമേടിപ്പാനും ഇതാകുന്നുവോ സമയം?

26. From where [have you come], Gehazi? And Gehazi said, Your servant has not been anywhere. And Elisha said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man returned from his chariot to meet you? And now you have received silver, and now you have received clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, menservants, and maidservants.

27. ആകയാല് നയമാന്റെ കുഷ്ഠം നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും എന്നേക്കും പിടിച്ചിരിക്കും എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുത്തു കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയായി അവനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി.

27. The leprosy also of Naaman shall cleave to you, and to your seed forever. And he went out from his presence leprous, like snow.
