1. മഹാനക്രത്തെ ചൂണ്ടലിട്ടു പിടിക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ നാകൂ കയറുകൊണ്ടു അമര്ത്താമോ?

1. Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, or snare his tongue with a cord which you let down?

2. അതിന്റെ മൂക്കില് കയറു കോര്ക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ അണയില് കൊളുത്തു കടത്താമോ?

2. Can you put a reed rope through his nose, or pierce his jaw with a hook?

3. അതു നിന്നോടു ഏറിയ യാചന കഴിക്കുമോ? സാവധാനവാക്കു നിന്നോടു പറയുമോ?

3. Will he make many supplications to you? Will he speak gentle words to you?

4. അതിനെ എന്നും ദാസനാക്കിക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നിന്നോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യുമോ?

4. Will he make a covenant with you? Will you capture him as a slave forever?

5. പക്ഷിയോടു എന്നപോലെ നീ അതിനോടു കളിക്കുമോ? അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു നിന്റെ ബാലമാര്ക്കായി കെട്ടിയിടുമോ?

5. Will you play with him as with a bird, or will you bind him on a leash for your maidens?

6. മീന് പിടിക്കൂറ്റുകാര് അതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്യുമോ? അതിനെ കച്ചവടക്കാര്ക്കും പകുത്തു വിലക്കുമോ?

6. Will your associates bargain over him? Will they divide him up among the merchants?

7. നിനക്കു അതിന്റെ തോലില് നിറെച്ചു അസ്ത്രവും തലയില് നിറെച്ചു ചാട്ടുളിയും തറെക്കാമോ?

7. Can you fill his skin with barbs, or his head with fishing spears?

8. അതിനെ ഒന്നു തൊടുക; പോര് തിട്ടം എന്നു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക; പിന്നെ നീ അതിന്നു തുനികയില്ല.

8. Lay your hand upon him; remember the battle; you will not do it again!

9. അവന്റെ ആശെക്കു ഭംഗംവരുന്നു; അതിനെ കാണുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവന് വീണു പോകുമല്ലോ.

9. Behold, any hope regarding him is false; shall one not be thrown down at the mere sight of him?

10. അതിനെ ഇളക്കുവാന് തക്ക ശൂരനില്ല; പിന്നെ എന്നോടു എതിര്ത്തുനിലക്കുന്നവന് ആര്?

10. No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand before Me?

11. ഞാന് മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു മുമ്പു കൂട്ടി തന്നതാര്? ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴെയുള്ളതൊക്കെയും എന്റെതല്ലയോ?

11. Who has anticipated Me, that I should repay? Everything under the heavens is Mine.

12. അതിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളെയും മഹാശക്തിയെയും അതിന്റെ ചേലൊത്ത രൂപത്തെയുംപറ്റി ഞാന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

12. I will not keep silent with lies about his mighty utterances, or his graceful proportions.

13. അതിന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായം ഊരാകുന്നവനാര്? അതിന്റെ ഇരട്ടനിരപ്പല്ലിന്നിടയില് ആര് ചെല്ലും?

13. Who has laid bare the face of his apparel? Who can come upon him with a double bridle?

14. അതിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ കതകു ആര് തുറക്കും? അതിന്റെ പല്ലിന്നു ചുറ്റും ഭീഷണം ഉണ്ടു.

14. Who has opened the doors of his face, with his terrible teeth all around?

15. ചെതുമ്പല്നിര അതിന്റെ ഡംഭമാകുന്നു; അതു മുദ്രവെച്ചു മുറുക്കി അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. His rows of shields are his pride, closed up as a tight seal;

16. അതു ഒന്നോടൊന്നു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇടയില് കാറ്റുകടക്കയില്ല.

16. one is so near another that no air can come between them;

17. ഒന്നോടൊന്നു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; വേര്പ്പെടുത്തിക്കൂടാതവണ്ണം തമ്മില് പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. they are joined one to another, they stick together and cannot be separated.

18. അതു തുമ്മുമ്പോള് വെളിച്ചം മിന്നുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കണ്ണു ഉഷസ്സിന്റെ കണ്ണിമപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

18. His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn.

19. അതിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു തീപ്പന്തങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെടുകയും തീപ്പൊരികള് തെറിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. Out of his mouth go burning torches; sparks of fire shoot out.

20. തിളെക്കുന്ന കലത്തില്നിന്നും കത്തുന്ന പോട്ടപ്പുല്ലില്നിന്നും എന്നപോലെ അതിന്റെ മൂക്കില്നിന്നു പുക പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

20. Smoke goes out of his nostrils, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes.

21. അതിന്റെ ശ്വാസം കനല് ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു ജ്വാല പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

21. His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.

22. അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തില് ബലം വസിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിരാശ നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22. Strength abides in his neck, and sorrow dances before him.

23. അതിന്റെ മാംസദശകള് തമ്മില് പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ ഇളകിപ്പോകാതവണ്ണം അതിന്മേല് ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. The folds of his flesh are joined together; they are firm on him and cannot be moved.

24. അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം കല്ലുപോലെ ഉറപ്പുള്ളതു തിരികല്ലിന്റെ അടിക്കല്ലുപോലെ ഉറപ്പുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

24. His heart is cast hard as stone, even cast hard as the lower millstone.

25. അതു പൊങ്ങുമ്പോള് ബലശാലികള് പേടിക്കുന്നു; ഭയം ഹേതുവായിട്ടു അവര് പരവശരായ്തീരുന്നു.

25. When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; because of his crashings they are beside themselves.

26. വാള്കൊണ്ടു അതിനെ എതിര്ക്കുംന്നതു അസാദ്ധ്യം; കുന്തം, അസ്ത്രം, വേല് എന്നിവകൊണ്ടും ആവതില്ല

26. Though the sword overtakes him, it does not stick; nor does spear, dart, or javelin.

27. ഇരിമ്പിനെ അതു വൈക്കോല്പോലെയും താമ്രത്തെ ദ്രവിച്ച മരംപോലെയും വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.

27. He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood.

28. അസ്ത്രം അതിനെ ഔടിക്കയില്ല; കവിണക്കല്ലു അതിന്നു താളടിയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. The arrow cannot make him flee; slingstones are turned into stubble by him.

29. ഗദ അതിന്നു താളടിപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു; വേല് ചാടുന്ന ഒച്ച കേട്ടിട്ടു അതു ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

29. Darts are regarded as straw; he laughs at the rattling of javelins.

30. അതിന്റെ അധോഭാഗം മൂര്ച്ചയുള്ള ഔട്ടുകഷണംപോലെയാകുന്നു; അതു ചെളിമേല് പല്ലിത്തടിപോലെ വലിയുന്നു.

30. His undersides are like sharp potsherds; he spreads sharp marks in the mire.

31. കലത്തെപ്പോലെ അതു ആഴിയെ തിളെപ്പിക്കുന്നു; സമുദ്രത്തെ അതു തൈലംപോലെയാക്കിത്തീര്ക്കുംന്നു.

31. He makes the deep boil like a pot; he makes the sea like a pot of ointment.

32. അതിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പാത മിന്നുന്നു; ആഴി നരെച്ചതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു.

32. He leaves a shining wake behind him; one would think the deep was gray-headed.

33. ഭൂമിയില് അതിന്നു തുല്യമായിട്ടൊന്നും ഇല്ല; അതിനെ ഭയമില്ലാത്തതായി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

33. On earth there is nothing like him, which is made without fear.

34. അതു ഉന്നതമായുള്ളതിനെയൊക്കെയും നോക്കിക്കാണുന്നു; മദിച്ച ജന്തുക്കള്ക്കെല്ലാം അതു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു.

34. He beholds every high thing; he is king over all the children of pride.
