1. മഹാനക്രത്തെ ചൂണ്ടലിട്ടു പിടിക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ നാകൂ കയറുകൊണ്ടു അമര്ത്താമോ?

1. [ 40:20] But will you catch the serpent with a hook, and put a halter about his nose?

2. അതിന്റെ മൂക്കില് കയറു കോര്ക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ അണയില് കൊളുത്തു കടത്താമോ?

2. [ 40:21] Or will you fasten a ring in his nostril, and bore his lip with a clasp?

3. അതു നിന്നോടു ഏറിയ യാചന കഴിക്കുമോ? സാവധാനവാക്കു നിന്നോടു പറയുമോ?

3. [ 40:22] Will he address you with a petition? Softly, with the voice of a suppliant?

4. അതിനെ എന്നും ദാസനാക്കിക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നിന്നോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യുമോ?

4. [ 40:23] And will he make a covenant with you? And will you take him for a perpetual servant?

5. പക്ഷിയോടു എന്നപോലെ നീ അതിനോടു കളിക്കുമോ? അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു നിന്റെ ബാലമാര്ക്കായി കെട്ടിയിടുമോ?

5. [ 40:24] And will you play with him as with a bird? Or bind him as a sparrow for a child?

6. മീന് പിടിക്കൂറ്റുകാര് അതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്യുമോ? അതിനെ കച്ചവടക്കാര്ക്കും പകുത്തു വിലക്കുമോ?

6. [ 40:25] And do the nations feed upon him, and the nations of the Phoenicians share him?

7. നിനക്കു അതിന്റെ തോലില് നിറെച്ചു അസ്ത്രവും തലയില് നിറെച്ചു ചാട്ടുളിയും തറെക്കാമോ?

7. [ 40:26] And all the ships come together would not be able to bear the mere skin of his tail, neither [shall they carry] his head in fishing vessels.

8. അതിനെ ഒന്നു തൊടുക; പോര് തിട്ടം എന്നു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക; പിന്നെ നീ അതിന്നു തുനികയില്ല.

8. [ 40:27] But you shall lay your hand upon him once, remembering the war that is waged by his mouth; and let it not be done anymore.

9. അവന്റെ ആശെക്കു ഭംഗംവരുന്നു; അതിനെ കാണുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവന് വീണു പോകുമല്ലോ.

9. [ 41:0] Have you not seen him? And have you not wondered at the things said [of him]?

10. അതിനെ ഇളക്കുവാന് തക്ക ശൂരനില്ല; പിന്നെ എന്നോടു എതിര്ത്തുനിലക്കുന്നവന് ആര്?

10. [ 41:1] Do you not fear because preparation has been made by Me? For who is there that resists Me?

11. ഞാന് മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു മുമ്പു കൂട്ടി തന്നതാര്? ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴെയുള്ളതൊക്കെയും എന്റെതല്ലയോ?

11. [ 41:2] Or who will resist Me, and stand their ground, since the whole world under heaven is Mine?

12. അതിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളെയും മഹാശക്തിയെയും അതിന്റെ ചേലൊത്ത രൂപത്തെയുംപറ്റി ഞാന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

12. [ 41:3] I will not be silent because of him: though because of his power one shall pity his antagonist.

13. അതിന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായം ഊരാകുന്നവനാര്? അതിന്റെ ഇരട്ടനിരപ്പല്ലിന്നിടയില് ആര് ചെല്ലും?

13. [ 41:4] Who will open the face of his garment? And who can enter within the fold of his breastplate?

14. അതിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ കതകു ആര് തുറക്കും? അതിന്റെ പല്ലിന്നു ചുറ്റും ഭീഷണം ഉണ്ടു.

14. [ 41:5] Who will open the doors of his face? Terror is round about his teeth.

15. ചെതുമ്പല്നിര അതിന്റെ ഡംഭമാകുന്നു; അതു മുദ്രവെച്ചു മുറുക്കി അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. [ 41:6] His inwards are as bronze plates, and the texture of his skin as a smyrite stone.

16. അതു ഒന്നോടൊന്നു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇടയില് കാറ്റുകടക്കയില്ല.

16. [ 41:7] One [part] cleaves fast to another, and the air cannot come between them.

17. ഒന്നോടൊന്നു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; വേര്പ്പെടുത്തിക്കൂടാതവണ്ണം തമ്മില് പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. [ 41:8] They will remain united each to the other: they are closely joined, and cannot be separated.

18. അതു തുമ്മുമ്പോള് വെളിച്ചം മിന്നുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കണ്ണു ഉഷസ്സിന്റെ കണ്ണിമപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

18. [ 41:9] At his sneezing a light shines, and his eyes are as the appearance of the morning star.

19. അതിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു തീപ്പന്തങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെടുകയും തീപ്പൊരികള് തെറിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. [ 41:10] Out of his mouth proceed as it were burning lamps, and as it were hearths of fire are cast abroad.

20. തിളെക്കുന്ന കലത്തില്നിന്നും കത്തുന്ന പോട്ടപ്പുല്ലില്നിന്നും എന്നപോലെ അതിന്റെ മൂക്കില്നിന്നു പുക പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

20. [ 41:11] Out of his nostrils proceeds smoke of a furnace burning with fire of coals.

21. അതിന്റെ ശ്വാസം കനല് ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു ജ്വാല പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

21. [ 41:12] His breath is as live coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.

22. അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തില് ബലം വസിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിരാശ നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22. [ 41:13] And power is lodged in his neck, before him destruction runs.

23. അതിന്റെ മാംസദശകള് തമ്മില് പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ ഇളകിപ്പോകാതവണ്ണം അതിന്മേല് ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. [ 41:14] The flesh also of his body is joined together: if one pours violence upon him, he shall not be moved.

24. അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം കല്ലുപോലെ ഉറപ്പുള്ളതു തിരികല്ലിന്റെ അടിക്കല്ലുപോലെ ഉറപ്പുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

24. [ 41:15] His heart is firm as a stone, and it stands like an unyielding anvil.

25. അതു പൊങ്ങുമ്പോള് ബലശാലികള് പേടിക്കുന്നു; ഭയം ഹേതുവായിട്ടു അവര് പരവശരായ്തീരുന്നു.

25. [ 41:16] And when he turns, [he is] a terror to the four-footed wild beasts which leap upon the earth.

26. വാള്കൊണ്ടു അതിനെ എതിര്ക്കുംന്നതു അസാദ്ധ്യം; കുന്തം, അസ്ത്രം, വേല് എന്നിവകൊണ്ടും ആവതില്ല

26. [ 41:17] If spears should come against him, men will effect nothing, [neither with] the spear or the breast plate.

27. ഇരിമ്പിനെ അതു വൈക്കോല്പോലെയും താമ്രത്തെ ദ്രവിച്ച മരംപോലെയും വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.

27. [ 41:18] For he considers iron as chaff, and brass as rotten wood.

28. അസ്ത്രം അതിനെ ഔടിക്കയില്ല; കവിണക്കല്ലു അതിന്നു താളടിയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. [ 41:19] The bow of brass shall not wound him, he deems a slinger as grass.

29. ഗദ അതിന്നു താളടിപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു; വേല് ചാടുന്ന ഒച്ച കേട്ടിട്ടു അതു ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

29. [ 41:20] Mauls are counted as stubble; and he laughs to scorn the waving of the firebrand.

30. അതിന്റെ അധോഭാഗം മൂര്ച്ചയുള്ള ഔട്ടുകഷണംപോലെയാകുന്നു; അതു ചെളിമേല് പല്ലിത്തടിപോലെ വലിയുന്നു.

30. [ 41:21] His lair is [formed of] sharp points, and all the gold of the sea under him is an immense [quantity] of clay.

31. കലത്തെപ്പോലെ അതു ആഴിയെ തിളെപ്പിക്കുന്നു; സമുദ്രത്തെ അതു തൈലംപോലെയാക്കിത്തീര്ക്കുംന്നു.

31. [ 41:22] He makes the deep boil like a bronze caldron, and he regards the sea as a pot of ointment,

32. അതിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പാത മിന്നുന്നു; ആഴി നരെച്ചതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു.

32. [ 41:23] and the lowest part of the deep as a captive: he reckons the deep as his range.

33. ഭൂമിയില് അതിന്നു തുല്യമായിട്ടൊന്നും ഇല്ല; അതിനെ ഭയമില്ലാത്തതായി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

33. [ 41:24] There is nothing upon the earth like him, formed to be sported with by My angels.

34. അതു ഉന്നതമായുള്ളതിനെയൊക്കെയും നോക്കിക്കാണുന്നു; മദിച്ച ജന്തുക്കള്ക്കെല്ലാം അതു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു.

34. [ 41:25] He beholds every high thing, and he is king of all that are in the waters.
