1. മകനേ, ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നു ചെവികൊടുക്കയും ബോധത്തിന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം ചായിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു

1. My son, pay attention to what I say. Remember my commands.

2. എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളില് സംഗ്രഹിച്ചാല്,

2. Listen to wisdom, and do your best to understand.

3. നീ ബോധത്തിന്നായി വിളിച്ചു വിവേകത്തിന്നായി ശബ്ദം ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു എങ്കില്,
കൊലൊസ്സ്യർ കൊളോസോസ് 2:3, യാക്കോബ് 1:5

3. Ask for good judgment. Cry out for understanding.

4. അതിനെ വെള്ളിയെപ്പോലെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ തിരയുന്നു എങ്കില്,

4. Look for wisdom like silver. Search for it like hidden treasure.

5. നീ യഹോവാഭക്തി ഗ്രഹിക്കയും ദൈവപരിജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.

5. If you do this, you will understand what it means to respect the Lord, and you will come to know God.

6. യഹോവയല്ലോ ജ്ഞാനം നലകുന്നതു; അവന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു പരിജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും വരുന്നു.

6. The Lord is the source of wisdom; knowledge and understanding come from his mouth.

7. അവന് നേരുള്ളവര്ക്കും രക്ഷ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നുനഷ്കളങ്കമായി നടക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും അവന് ഒരു പരിച തന്നേ.

7. He gives good advice to honest people and shields those who do what is right.

8. അവന് ന്യായത്തിന്റെ പാതകളെ കാക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ വഴിയെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

8. He makes sure that people are treated fairly. He watches over his loyal followers.

9. അങ്ങനെ നീ നീതിയും ന്യായവും നേരും സകലസന്മാര്ഗ്ഗവും ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

9. If you listen to him, you will understand what is just and fair and how to do what is right.

10. ജ്ഞാനം നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പ്രവേശിക്കും; പരിജ്ഞാനം നിന്റെ മനസ്സിന്നു ഇമ്പമായിരിക്കും.

10. You will gain wisdom, and knowledge will bring you joy.

11. വകതിരിവു നിന്നെ കാക്കും; വിവേകം നിന്നെ സൂക്ഷിക്കും.

11. Planning ahead will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

12. അതു നിന്നെ ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വഴിയില്നിന്നും വികടം പറയുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്നിന്നും വിടുവിക്കും.

12. These will keep you from following the wrong path and will protect you from those who have evil plans.

13. അവര് ഇരുട്ടുള്ള വഴികളില് നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നേരെയുള്ള പാത വിട്ടുകളകയും

13. Such people have left the straight path and now walk in darkness.

14. ദോഷപ്രവൃത്തിയില് സന്തോഷിക്കയും ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വികടങ്ങളില് ആനന്ദിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

14. They enjoy doing evil and are happy with the confusion it brings.

15. അവര് വളഞ്ഞവഴിക്കു പോകുന്നവരും ചൊവ്വല്ലാത്ത പാതയില് നടക്കുന്നവരും ആകുന്നു.

15. Their ways are crooked; they lie and cheat.

16. അതു നിന്നെ പരസ്ത്രീയുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്ന അന്യസ്ത്രീയുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നും വിടുവിക്കും.

16. Wisdom will save you from that other woman, another man's wife, who tempts you with sweet words.

17. അവള് തന്റെ യൌവനകാന്തനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നിയമം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. She married when she was young, but then she left her husband. She forgot the marriage vows she made before God.

18. അവളുടെ വീടു മരണത്തിലേക്കും അവളുടെ പാതകള് പ്രേതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കും ചാഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. Going into her house leads to death. She will lead you to the grave.

19. അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുന്ന ഒരുത്തനും മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല; ജീവന്റെ പാതകളെ പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

19. All who enter lose their life and never return.

20. അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയില് നടന്നു നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പാതകളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

20. Wisdom will help you follow the example of good people and stay on the right path.

21. നേരുള്ളവര് ദേശത്തു വസിക്കും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാര് അതില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കും.

21. Honest people will live in the land, and those who do right will remain there.

22. എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും; ദ്രോഹികള് അതില്നിന്നു നിര്മ്മൂലമാകും.

22. But the wicked will be forced to leave. Those who lie and cheat will be thrown out of the land.
