1. ഉസ്സീയാവു, യോഥാം ആഹാസ്, ഹിസ്കീയാവു എന്നീ യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായി യോവാശിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ കാലത്തും ബെയേരിയുടെ മകനായ ഹോശേയെക്കു ഉണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

1. The Word of the Lord came to Hosea the son of Beeri during the time that Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah were kings of Judah, and Jeroboam the son of Joash was king of Israel.

2. യഹോവ ഹോശേയമുഖാന്തരം സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്, യഹോവ ഹോശേയയോടുനീ ചെന്നുപരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ഭാര്യയെയും പരസംഗത്തില് ജനിച്ച മക്കളെയും എടുക്ക; ദേശം യഹോവയെ വിട്ടുമാറി കഠിന പരസംഗം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

2. When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to him, 'Go and marry a wife who is not faithful in marriage, and have children from that woman. For the land is guilty of not being faithful to the Lord.'

3. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ചെന്നു ദിബ്ളയീമിന്റെ മകളായ ഗോമരിനെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവള് ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു അവന്നു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

3. So he married Gomer the daughter of Diblaim and she gave birth to his son.

4. യഹോവ അവനോടുഅവന്നു യിസ്രെയേല് (ദൈവം വിതെക്കും) എന്നു പേര്വിളിക്ക; ഇനി കുറെക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാന് യിസ്രെയേലിന്റെ രക്തപാതകങ്ങളെ യേഹൂഗൃഹത്തോടു സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ രാജത്വം ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കും;

4. And the Lord said to Hosea, 'Name him Jezreel, because I will soon punish the people of Jehu for the killing at Jezreel. And I will put an end to the ruling power of the people of Israel.

5. അന്നാളില് ഞാന് യിസ്രെയേല് താഴ്വരയില്വെച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ വില്ലു ഒടിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

5. On that day, I will break the power of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.'

6. അവള് പിന്നെയും ഗര്ഭംധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകളെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. യഹോവ അവനോടുഅവള്ക്കു ലോരൂഹമാ (കരുണ ലഭിക്കാത്തവള്) എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്ക; ഞാന് ഇനി യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തോടു ക്ഷമിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവരോടു ഒട്ടും കരുണ കാണിക്കയില്ല.

6. Then Gomer gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to Hosea, 'Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have loving-pity on the people of Israel and forgive them.

7. എന്നാല് യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തോടു ഞാന് കരുണ കാണിച്ചു, അവരെ വില്ലുകൊണ്ടോ വാള്കൊണ്ടോ യുദ്ധംകൊണ്ടോ കുതിരകളെക്കൊണ്ടോ കുതിരച്ചേവകരെക്കൊണ്ടോ രക്ഷിക്കാതെ അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെക്കൊണ്ടു അവരെ രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

7. But I will have loving-pity on the people of Judah. I, the Lord their God, will save them. But I will not save them by bow, sword, war, horses, or horsemen.'

8. അവള് ലോരൂഹമയെ മുലകുടി മാറ്റിയശേഷം ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

8. When Gomer had finished nursing Lo-ruhamah, she gave birth to a son.

9. അപ്പോള് യഹോവഅവന്നു ലോ-അമ്മീ (എന്റെ ജനമല്ല) എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്ക; നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ജനമല്ല, ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവമായിരിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

9. And the Lord said, 'Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not My people and I am not your God.

10. എങ്കിലും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സംഖ്യ അളക്കുവാനും എണ്ണുവാനും കഴിയാത്ത കടല്ക്കരയിലെ പൂഴിപോലെ ഇരിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ജനമല്ല എന്നു അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതിന്നു പകരം നിങ്ങള് ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കള് എന്നു അവരോടു പറയും.

10. 'Yet the number of the people of Israel will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered. And in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people,' it will be said to them, 'You are the sons of the living God.'

11. യെഹൂദാമക്കളും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരേ തലവനെ നിയമിച്ചു ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകും; യിസ്രെയേലിന്റെ നാള് വലുതായിരിക്കുമല്ലോ.

11. The people of Judah and the people of Israel will be gathered together, and they will choose one leader for themselves. And they will go up from the land, for the day of Jezreel will be a great day.
