1. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി ആമോന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു, ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ അമര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ കൂശിയുടെ മകനായ സെഫന്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

1. The Word of Jehovah which was to Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah:

2. ഞാന് ഭൂതലത്തില്നിന്നു സകലത്തെയും സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. I will completely gather away all from on the face of the ground, declares Jehovah.

3. ഞാന് മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും സംഹരിക്കും; ഞാന് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതിയെയും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളെയും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഇടര്ച്ചകളെയും സംഹരിക്കും; ഞാന് ഭൂതലത്തില് നിന്നു മനുഷ്യനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3. I will gather away man and beast: I will gather away the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, and the stumbling-blocks, even the wicked. And I will cut off man from the face of the ground, declares Jehovah.

4. ഞാന് യെഹൂദയുടെ മേലും യെരൂശലേമിലെ സകലനിവാസികളുടെ മേലും കൈ നീട്ടും; ഞാന് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു ബാലിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പിനെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു കൂടെ പൂജാരികളുടെ പേരിനെയും

4. I will also stretch out My hand on Judah and on all those dwelling in Jerusalem. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, the name of the idol worshipers, with the priests;

5. മേല്പുരകളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ സൈന്യത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരെയും യഹോവയെച്ചൊല്ലിയും മല്ക്കാമിനെച്ചൊല്ലിയും സത്യം ചെയ്തു നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരെയും യഹോവയെ വിട്ടു പിന്മാറിയവരെയും

5. and those bowing to the host of the heavens on the housetops; and those bowing, swearing to Jehovah, also swearing by Malcham,

6. യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കയോ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാത്തവരെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

6. and those drawing back from after Jehovah, and who have not sought Jehovah, nor asked of Him.

7. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്ക; യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ഒരു യാഗസദ്യ ഒരുക്കി താന് ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Be silent before the face of the Lord Jehovah, for the day of Jehovah is near. For Jehovah has appointed a sacrifice; He has consecrated ones He called.

8. എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ യാഗസദ്യയുള്ള ദിവസത്തില് ഞാന് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയും അന്യദേശവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഏവരെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

8. And it shall be in the day of the sacrifice of Jehovah, I will punish the rulers and the king's sons, and all those clothed in foreign clothing.

9. അന്നാളില് ഞാന് ഉമ്മരപ്പടി ചാടിക്കടക്കുന്ന ഏവരെയും സാഹസവും വഞ്ചനയുംകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്മാരുടെ വീടുകളെ നിറെക്കുന്നവരെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

9. And I will punish all those who leap on the threshold in that day, who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

10. അന്നാളില് മത്സ്യഗോപുരത്തില്നിന്നു ഉറക്കെയുള്ളോരു നിലവിളിയും രണ്ടാമത്തെ നഗരാംശത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു മുറവിളയും കുന്നുകളില്നിന്നു ഒരു ത്സടത്സടനാദവും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. And it shall be in that day, declares Jehovah, the sound of a cry from the Fish Gate, and a howling from the Second, and a great breaking from the hills.

11. മക്തേശ് നിവാസികളെ, മുറയിടുവിന് ; വ്യാപാരിജനം ഒക്കെയും നശിച്ചുപോയല്ലോ; സകല ദ്രവ്യവാഹകന്മാരും ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Howl, those living in Maktesh, for all the people of Canaan have perished; all those carrying silver are cut off.

12. ആ കാലത്തു ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിനെ വിളകൂ കത്തിച്ചു ശോധന കഴിക്കയും മട്ടിന്മേല് ഉറെച്ചുകിടന്നുയഹോവ ഗുണമോ ദോഷമോ ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ഹൃദയത്തില് പറയുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

12. And it shall be in that time, I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men being settled on their lees; who say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, nor will He do evil.

13. അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ സമ്പത്തു കവര്ച്ചയും അവരുടെ വീടുകള് ശൂന്യവും ആയ്തീരും; അവര് വീടു പണിയും, പാര്ക്കയില്ലതാനും; അവര് മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും.

13. And their goods shall become a prize, and their houses a waste. They shall also build houses, but not live there. And they shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine.

14. യഹോവയുടെ മഹാദിവസം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു അടുത്തു അത്യന്തം ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു; കേട്ടോ യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം! വീരന് അവിടെ കഠിനമായി നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു.

14. The great day of Jehovah is near; it is near and rushing greatly, the sound of the day of Jehovah. The mighty man shall cry out bitterly there.

15. ആ ദിവസം ക്രോധദിവസം, കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം, ശൂന്യതയും നാശവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം, ഇരുട്ടും അന്ധകാരവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം, മേഘവും മൂടലും ഉള്ള ദിവസം,

15. That day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and pressure, a day of waste and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

16. ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കും ഉയരമുള്ള കൊത്തളങ്ങള്ക്കും വിരോധമായി കാഹളനാദവും ആരവവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം തന്നേ.

16. a day of the ram's horn and alarm against the fortified cities, and against the high towers.

17. മനുഷ്യര് കുരുടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നടക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കഷ്ടത വരുത്തും; അവര് യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; അവരുടെ രക്തം പൊടിപോലെയും അവരുടെ മാംസം കാഷ്ടംപോലെയും ചൊരിയും.

17. And I will bring distress to men, and they shall walk like the blind, because they have sinned against Jehovah. And their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh like dung.

18. യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധദിവസത്തില് അവരുടെ വെള്ളിക്കും പൊന്നിന്നും അവരെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല; സര്വ്വഭൂമിയും അവന്റെ തീക്ഷണതാഗ്നിക്കു ഇരയായ്തീരും; സകല ഭൂവാസികള്ക്കും അവന് ശീഘ്രസംഹാരം വരുത്തും.

18. Their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Jehovah. But all the earth shall be consumed by the fire of His jealousy. For He shall make a complete, yea, a speedy end of all those living in the land.
