1. അവന് മലയില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നാറെ വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു.

1. As Jesus came down the mountain, he was followed by large crowds.

2. അപ്പോള് ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി വന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു കര്ത്താവേ, നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Suddenly a man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus. He said, 'Lord, you have the power to make me well, if only you wanted to.'

3. അവന് കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു“എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടു; നീ ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം മാറി അവന് ശുദ്ധമായി.

3. Jesus put his hand on the man and said, 'I want to! Now you are well.' At once the man's leprosy disappeared.

4. യേശു അവനോടു“നോകൂ, ആരോടും പറയരുതു; അവര്ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി നീ ചെന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്നു കാണിച്ചു, മോശെ കല്പിച്ച വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Jesus told him, 'Don't tell anyone about this, but go and show the priest that you are well. Then take a gift to the temple just as Moses commanded, and everyone will know that you have been healed.'

5. When Jesus was going into the town of Capernaum, an army officer came up to him and said,

6. കര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ചു കഠിനമായി വേദനപ്പെട്ടു വീട്ടില് കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. 'Lord, my servant is at home in such terrible pain that he can't even move.'

7. അവന് അവനോടു“ഞാന് വന്നു അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

7. I will go and heal him,' Jesus replied.

8. അതിന്നു ശതാധിപന് കര്ത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യനല്ല; ഒരു വാക്കുമാത്രം കല്പിച്ചാല് എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

8. But the officer said, 'Lord, I'm not good enough for you to come into my house. Just give the order, and my servant will get well.

9. ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് ആകുന്നു. എന്റെ കീഴില് പടയാളികള് ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് ഒരുവനോടുപോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടുഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. I have officers who give orders to me, and I have soldiers who take orders from me. I can say to one of them, 'Go!' and he goes. I can say to another, 'Come!' and he comes. I can say to my servant, 'Do this!' and he will do it.'

10. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു യേശു അതിശയിച്ചു, പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“യിസ്രായേലില്കൂടെ ഇത്ര വലിയ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

10. When Jesus heard this, he was so surprised that he turned and said to the crowd following him, 'I tell you that in all of Israel I've never found anyone with this much faith!

11. കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും അനേകര് വന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും കൂടെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് പന്തിക്കിരിക്കും.

11. Many people will come from everywhere to enjoy the feast in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

12. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേയോ ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുളിലേക്കു തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

12. But the ones who should have been in the kingdom will be thrown out into the dark. They will cry and grit their teeth in pain.'

13. പിന്നെ യേശു ശതാധിപനോടു“പോക, നീ വിശ്വസിച്ചതു പോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

13. Then Jesus said to the officer, 'You may go home now. Your faith has made it happen.' Right then his servant was healed.

14. യേശു പത്രോസിന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

14. Jesus went to the home of Peter, where he found that Peter's mother-in-law was sick in bed with fever.

15. അവന് അവളുടെ കൈതൊട്ടു പനി അവളെ വിട്ടു; അവള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു.

15. He took her by the hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and served Jesus a meal.

16. വൈകുന്നേരം ആയപ്പോള് പല ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ദുരാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കി സകലദീനക്കാര്ക്കും സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തി.

16. That evening many people with demons in them were brought to Jesus. And with only a word he forced out the evil spirits and healed everyone who was sick.

17. അവന് നമ്മുടെ ബലഹീനതകളെ എടുത്തു വ്യാധികളെ ചുമന്നു എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാന് തന്നേ.

17. So God's promise came true, just as the prophet Isaiah had said, 'He healed our diseases and made us well.'

18. When Jesus saw the crowd, he went across Lake Galilee.

19. അന്നു ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പോയാലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. A teacher of the Law of Moses came up to him and said, 'Teacher, I'll go anywhere with you!'

20. യേശു അവനോടു“കുറുനരികള്ക്കു കുഴികളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകള്ക്കു കൂടുകളും ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നോ തലചായിപ്പാന് ഇടം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

20. Jesus replied, 'Foxes have dens, and birds have nests. But the Son of Man doesn't have a place to call his own.'

21. ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് വേറൊരുത്തന് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് മുമ്പെപോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

21. Another disciple said to Jesus, 'Lord, let me wait till I bury my father.'

22. യേശു അവനോടു“നീ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരിക; മരിച്ചവര് തങ്ങളുടെ മരിച്ചവരെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. Jesus answered, 'Come with me, and let the dead bury their dead.'

23. അവന് ഒരു പടകില് കയറിയപ്പോള് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കൂടെ ചെന്നു.

23. After Jesus left in a boat with his disciples,

24. പിന്നെ കടലില് വലിയ ഔളം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പടകു തിരകളാല് മുങ്ങുമാറായി; അവനോ ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.

24. a terrible storm suddenly struck the lake, and waves started splashing into their boat. Jesus was sound asleep,

25. അവര് അടുത്തുചെന്നുകര്ത്താവേ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേഞങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഉണര്ത്തി.

25. so the disciples went over to him and woke him up. They said, 'Lord, save us! We're going to drown!'

26. അവന് അവരോടു“അല്പവിശ്വാസികളെ, നിങ്ങള് ഭീരുക്കള് ആകുവാന് എന്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെയും കടലിനെയും ശാസിച്ചപ്പോള് വലിയ ശാന്തതയുണ്ടായി.

26. But Jesus replied, 'Why are you so afraid? You surely don't have much faith.' Then he got up and ordered the wind and the waves to calm down. And everything was calm.

27. എന്നാറെ ആ മനുഷ്യര് അതിശയിച്ചുഇവന് എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് ? കാറ്റും കടലും കൂടെ ഇവനെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. The men in the boat were amazed and said, 'Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him.'

28. അവന് അക്കരെ ഗദരേനരുടെ ദേശത്തു എത്തിയാറെ രണ്ടു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തര് ശവക്കല്ലറകളില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്നു എതിരെ വന്നു; അവര് അത്യുഗ്രന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ആര്ക്കും ആ വഴി നടന്നുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

28. After Jesus had crossed the lake, he came to shore near the town of Gadara and started down the road. Two men with demons in them came to him from the tombs. They were so fierce that no one could travel that way.

29. അവര് നിലവിളിച്ചുദൈവപുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? സമയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിപ്പാന് ഇവിടെ വന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Suddenly they shouted, 'Jesus, Son of God, what do you want with us? Have you come to punish us before our time?'

30. അവര്ക്കകലെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

30. Not far from there a large herd of pigs was feeding.

31. ഭൂതങ്ങള് അവനോടുഞങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് പന്നിക്കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു

31. So the demons begged Jesus, 'If you force us out, please send us into those pigs!'

32. “പൊയ്ക്കൊള്വിന് ” എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളിലേക്കു ചെന്നു; ആ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വെള്ളത്തില് മുങ്ങി ചത്തു.

32. Jesus told them to go, and they went out of the men and into the pigs. All at once the pigs rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.

33. മേയക്കുന്നവര് ഔടി പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു സകലവും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്ഥരുടെ വസ്തുതയും അറിയിച്ചു.

33. The people taking care of the pigs ran to the town and told everything, especially what had happened to the two men.

34. ഉടനെ പട്ടണം എല്ലാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശുവിന്നു എതിരെ ചെന്നു; അവനെ കണ്ടാറെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിട്ടു പോകേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

34. Everyone in town came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their part of the country.
