1. അവന് മലയില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നാറെ വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു.

1. And when he came down from the mountain, there followed him large multitudes.

2. അപ്പോള് ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി വന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു കര്ത്താവേ, നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And 1o! a leper, coming near, began to bow down to him saying, Lord! if thou be willing, thou canst cleanse me.

3. അവന് കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു“എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടു; നീ ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം മാറി അവന് ശുദ്ധമായി.

3. And, stretching forth the hand, he touched him, saying, I am willing, be cleansed! And, straightway, cleansed was his leprosy.

4. യേശു അവനോടു“നോകൂ, ആരോടും പറയരുതു; അവര്ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി നീ ചെന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്നു കാണിച്ചു, മോശെ കല്പിച്ച വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And Jesus saith unto him, Mind! tell, no one, but withdraw, thyself, shew to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses directed, for a witness unto them.

5. അവന് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് ഒരു ശതാധിപന് വന്നു അവനോടു

5. And, when he entered into Capernaum, there came near unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6. കര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ചു കഠിനമായി വേദനപ്പെട്ടു വീട്ടില് കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. and saying, Lord! my servant, is laid prostrate in the house, a paralytic, fearfully tortured.

7. അവന് അവനോടു“ഞാന് വന്നു അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

7. He saith unto him, I, will come and cure him.

8. അതിന്നു ശതാധിപന് കര്ത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യനല്ല; ഒരു വാക്കുമാത്രം കല്പിച്ചാല് എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

8. But the centurion, answering, said, Lord! I am of no consideration, that, under my roof, thou shouldest enter, but, only say with a word, and healed shall be my servant.

9. ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് ആകുന്നു. എന്റെ കീഴില് പടയാളികള് ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് ഒരുവനോടുപോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടുഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. For, I also, am a man set under authority, having under myself, soldiers, and I say to this one, Go! and he goeth, and to another, Come! and he cometh, and, to my servant, Do this! and he doeth it.

10. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു യേശു അതിശയിച്ചു, പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“യിസ്രായേലില്കൂടെ ഇത്ര വലിയ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

10. Now Jesus, hearing, marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily, I say unto you, With no one in Israel, such faith as this, have I found.

11. കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും അനേകര് വന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും കൂടെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് പന്തിക്കിരിക്കും.

11. But I say unto you, Many from east and west, will have come, and shall recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of the heavens;

12. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേയോ ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുളിലേക്കു തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

12. Whereas, the sons of the kingdom, shall be cast forth into the darkness outside, There, will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

13. പിന്നെ യേശു ശതാധിപനോടു“പോക, നീ വിശ്വസിച്ചതു പോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

13. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Withdraw! and, as thou hast believed, be it done for thee. And healed was the servant in that hour.

14. യേശു പത്രോസിന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

14. And Jesus, coming into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law laid prostrate and in a fever,

15. അവന് അവളുടെ കൈതൊട്ടു പനി അവളെ വിട്ടു; അവള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു.

15. and he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and began ministering unto him.

16. വൈകുന്നേരം ആയപ്പോള് പല ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ദുരാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കി സകലദീനക്കാര്ക്കും സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തി.

16. But, when, evening, came, they brought unto him many demonized, and he cast out the spirits with a word, and, all who were sick, he cured:

17. അവന് നമ്മുടെ ബലഹീനതകളെ എടുത്തു വ്യാധികളെ ചുമന്നു എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാന് തന്നേ.

17. that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself, our weaknesses, took, and, diseases, bare.

18. എന്നാല് യേശു തന്റെ ചുറ്റും വളരെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ അക്കരെക്കു പോകുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

18. Now Jesus, seeing a multitude about him, gave orders to depart unto the other side.

19. അന്നു ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പോയാലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. And a certain scribe, coming near, said unto him, Teacher; I will follow thee, whithersoever Thou goest.

20. യേശു അവനോടു“കുറുനരികള്ക്കു കുഴികളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകള്ക്കു കൂടുകളും ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നോ തലചായിപ്പാന് ഇടം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

20. And Jesus saith unto him: The foxes, have, dens, and, the birds of the heavens, nests, but, the Son of Man, hath not where, his head he may recline.

21. ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് വേറൊരുത്തന് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് മുമ്പെപോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

21. And, another of the disciples, saith unto him, Lord! suffer me, first, to depart, and bury my father.

22. യേശു അവനോടു“നീ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരിക; മരിച്ചവര് തങ്ങളുടെ മരിച്ചവരെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. But, Jesus, saith unto him, Be following me, and leave, the dead, to bury, their own dead.

23. അവന് ഒരു പടകില് കയറിയപ്പോള് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കൂടെ ചെന്നു.

23. And, when he, entered, into a boat, his disciples followed him.

24. പിന്നെ കടലില് വലിയ ഔളം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പടകു തിരകളാല് മുങ്ങുമാറായി; അവനോ ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.

24. And 1o! a great squall, arose in the sea, so that, the boat, was being covered, by the waves, but, he, was sleeping.

25. അവര് അടുത്തുചെന്നുകര്ത്താവേ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേഞങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഉണര്ത്തി.

25. And, coming near, they aroused him, saying, Master! save, we perish!

26. അവന് അവരോടു“അല്പവിശ്വാസികളെ, നിങ്ങള് ഭീരുക്കള് ആകുവാന് എന്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെയും കടലിനെയും ശാസിച്ചപ്പോള് വലിയ ശാന്തതയുണ്ടായി.

26. And he saith unto them, Why, are ye, fearful, little of faith? Then, aroused, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became a great calm.

27. എന്നാറെ ആ മനുഷ്യര് അതിശയിച്ചുഇവന് എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് ? കാറ്റും കടലും കൂടെ ഇവനെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. But, the men, marveled, saying, Whence is this one, that, both the winds and the sea, unto him, give ear?

28. അവന് അക്കരെ ഗദരേനരുടെ ദേശത്തു എത്തിയാറെ രണ്ടു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തര് ശവക്കല്ലറകളില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്നു എതിരെ വന്നു; അവര് അത്യുഗ്രന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ആര്ക്കും ആ വഴി നടന്നുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

28. And, when he, came, unto the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes, there met him, two men demonized, out of the tombs, coming forth, fierce exceedingly, so that no one could pass that way;

29. അവര് നിലവിളിച്ചുദൈവപുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? സമയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിപ്പാന് ഇവിടെ വന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. and lo! they cried aloud, saying, What have we in common with thee, O Son of God? Hast thou come hither, before the right time, to torment us?

30. അവര്ക്കകലെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

30. Now there was, far from them, a herd of many swine, feeding;

31. ഭൂതങ്ങള് അവനോടുഞങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് പന്നിക്കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു

31. and, the demons, began to beseech him, saying, If thou dost cast us out, send us away, into the herd of swine.

32. “പൊയ്ക്കൊള്വിന് ” എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളിലേക്കു ചെന്നു; ആ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വെള്ളത്തില് മുങ്ങി ചത്തു.

32. And he said unto them, Withdraw! So, they, going out, departed into the swine, and lo! all the herd rushed down the cliff, into the sea, and died in the waters.

33. മേയക്കുന്നവര് ഔടി പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു സകലവും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്ഥരുടെ വസ്തുതയും അറിയിച്ചു.

33. And, they who were feeding them, fled, and, departing into the city, reported all things, and what concerned them who had been demonized.

34. ഉടനെ പട്ടണം എല്ലാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശുവിന്നു എതിരെ ചെന്നു; അവനെ കണ്ടാറെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിട്ടു പോകേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

34. And lo! all the city, came out to meet Jesus, and, seeing him, they besought that he would pass on from their bounds.
