1. അവര് ഒരുക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം എടുത്തു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം അതികാലത്തു എത്തി,

1. Very early Sunday morning, the women came to the tomb where Jesus' body was laid. They brought the sweet-smelling spices they had prepared.

2. കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.

2. They saw that the heavy stone that covered the entrance had been rolled away.

3. അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.

3. They went in, but they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവര് ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാര് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

4. They did not understand this. While they were wondering about it, two men in shining clothes stood beside them.

5. The women were very afraid. They bowed down with their faces to the ground. The men said to them, 'Why are you looking for a living person here? This is a place for dead people.

6. Jesus is not here. He has risen from death. Do you remember what he said in Galilee?

7. He said the Son of Man must be handed over to the control of sinful men, be killed on a cross, and rise from death on the third day.'

8. Then the women remembered what Jesus had said.

9. കല്ലറ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി പതിനൊരുവര് മുതലായ എല്ലാവരോടും ഇതു ഒക്കെയും അറിയിച്ചു.

9. The women left the tomb and went to the eleven apostles and the other followers. They told them everything that happened at the tomb.

10. അവര് ആരെന്നാല് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ, യോഹന്നാ, യാക്കോബിന്റെ അമ്മ മറിയ എന്നവര് തന്നേ. അവരോടുകൂടെയുള്ള മറ്റു സ്ത്രീകളും അതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. These women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary, the mother of James, and some others. They told the apostles everything that happened.

11. But the apostles did not believe what they said. It sounded like nonsense.

12. But Peter got up and ran to the tomb to see. He looked in, but he saw only the cloth that Jesus' body had been wrapped in. It was just lying there. Peter went away to be alone, wondering what had happened.

13. അന്നു തന്നേ അവരില് രണ്ടുപേര് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയില്

13. That same day two of Jesus' followers were going to a town named Emmaus. It is about seven miles from Jerusalem.

14. ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

14. They were talking about everything that had happened.

15. സംസാരിച്ചും തര്ക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നു നടന്നു.

15. While they were talking, discussing these things, Jesus himself came near and walked with them.

16. അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

16. (But the two men were not allowed to recognize Jesus.)

17. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മില് വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവര് വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.

17. He asked them, 'What's this I hear you discussing with each other as you walk?' The two men stopped, their faces looking very sad.

18. ക്ളെയൊപ്പാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവന് ; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പരദേശികളില് നീ മാത്രം ഈ നാളുകളില് അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യം അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. The one named Cleopas said, 'You must be the only person in Jerusalem who doesn't know what has just happened there.'

19. ഏതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

19. Jesus said, 'What are you talking about?' They said, 'It's about Jesus, the one from Nazareth. To God and to all the people he was a great prophet. He said and did many powerful things.

20. നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

20. But our leaders and the leading priests handed him over to be judged and killed. They nailed him to a cross.

21. ഞങ്ങളോ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവന് എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള് ആകുന്നു.

21. We were hoping that he would be the one to free Israel. But then all this happened. 'And now something else: It has been three days since he was killed,

22. but today some of our women told us an amazing thing. Early this morning they went to the tomb where the body of Jesus was laid.

23. But they did not find his body there. They came and told us they had seen some angels in a vision. The angels told them Jesus was alive!

24. So some of our group went to the tomb too. It was just like the women said. They saw the tomb, but they did not see Jesus.'

25. അവന് അവരോടുഅയ്യോ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത മന്ദബുദ്ധികളേ,

25. Then Jesus said to the two men, 'You are foolish and slow to realize what is true. You should believe everything the prophets said.

26. ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. The prophets said the Christ must suffer these things before he begins his time of glory. '

27. മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരില് നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവര്ക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

27. Then he began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures. He started with the books of Moses and then he talked about what the prophets had said about him.

28. അവര് പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള് അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.

28. They came near the town of Emmaus, and Jesus acted as if he did not plan to stop there.

29. അവരോഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് ചെന്നു.

29. But they wanted him to stay. They begged him, 'Stay with us. It's almost night. There's hardly any daylight left.' So he went in to stay with them.

30. അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവര്ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.

30. Joining them at the supper table, Jesus took some bread and gave thanks. Then he broke some off and gave it to them.

31. ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി

31. Just then the men were allowed to recognize him. But when they saw who he was, he disappeared.

32. അവന് വഴിയില് നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോള് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളില് കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

32. They said to each other, 'When he talked to us on the road, it felt like a fire burning in us. How exciting it was when he explained to us the true meaning of the Scriptures!'

33. ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

33. So the two men got up then and went back to Jerusalem. There they found the followers of Jesus meeting together. The eleven apostles and the people with them

34. കര്ത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.

34. said, 'The Lord really has risen from death! He showed himself to Simon.'

35. വഴിയില് സംഭവിച്ചതും അവന് അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയില് തങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിയായ്വന്നതും അവര് വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. Then the two men told what had happened on the road. They talked about how they recognized Jesus when he shared the bread with them.

36. ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവരുടെ നടുവില് നിന്നു(നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)

36. While the two men were saying these things to the other followers, Jesus himself came and stood among them. He said to them, 'Peace be with you.'

37. അവര് ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നി.

37. This surprised the followers. They were afraid. They thought they were seeing a ghost.

38. അവന് അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?

38. But Jesus said, 'Why are you troubled? Why do you doubt what you see?

39. ഞാന് തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിന് ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിന് ; എന്നില് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Look at my hands and my feet. It's really me. Touch me. You can see that I have a living body; a ghost does not have a body like this.'

40. (ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)

40. After Jesus told them this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41. അവര് സന്തോഷത്താല് വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവരോടുതിന്നുവാന് വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

41. The followers were amazed and very, very happy to see that Jesus was alive. They still could not believe what they saw. He said to them, 'Do you have any food here?'

42. അവര് ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേന് കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

42. They gave him a piece of cooked fish.

43. അതു അവന് വാങ്ങി അവര് കാണ്കെ തിന്നു.

43. While the followers watched, he took the fish and ate it.

44. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീര്ത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.

44. Jesus said to them, 'Remember when I was with you before? I said that everything written about me must happen�everything written in the Law of Moses, the books of the prophets, and the Psalms.'

45. ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാള് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമില് തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. Then Jesus helped the followers understand these Scriptures about him.

46. ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:5, ഹോശേയ 6:2

46. Jesus said to them, 'It is written that the Christ would be killed and rise from death on the third day.

47. എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തില് പാര്പ്പിന് എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. You saw these things happen�you are witnesses. You must go and tell people that they must change and turn to God, which will bring them his forgiveness. You must start from Jerusalem and tell this message in my name to the people of all nations.

48. അനന്തരം അവന് അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

49. അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയില് അവന് അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വര്ഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).

49. Remember that I will send you the one my Father promised. Stay in the city until you are given that power from heaven.'

50. അവര് (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തില് ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.

50. Jesus led his followers out of Jerusalem almost to Bethany. He raised his hands and blessed his followers.
