1. അവര് ഒരുക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം എടുത്തു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം അതികാലത്തു എത്തി,

1. But vpon the first day of the Sabbathes, [very] early in the mornyng, they came vnto the sepulchre, & brought ye sweete odours which they had prepared, and other women with them.

2. കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.

2. And they founde the stone rolled away from the sepulchre,

3. അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.

3. And they went in: but founde not the body of the Lorde Iesu.

4. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവര് ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാര് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

4. And it came to passe, as they were amased therat: Beholde, two men stoode by them in shinyng garmentes.

5. ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മുഖം കുനിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ജീവനുള്ളവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

5. And as they were afrayde, and bowed downe their faces to the earth, they said vnto them: Why seeke ye the lyuyng among the dead?

6. അവന് ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു;

6. He is not here, but is risen: Remember howe he spake vnto you, when he was yet in Galilee,

7. Saying: that the sonne of man must be deliuered into the handes of sinfull men, and be crucified, and the thirde day rise agayne.

8. അവര് അവന്റെ വാക്കു ഔര്ത്തു,

8. And they remembred his wordes,

9. കല്ലറ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി പതിനൊരുവര് മുതലായ എല്ലാവരോടും ഇതു ഒക്കെയും അറിയിച്ചു.

9. And returned from the sepulchre, and tolde all these thinges vnto those eleuen, and to all the remnaunt.

10. അവര് ആരെന്നാല് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ, യോഹന്നാ, യാക്കോബിന്റെ അമ്മ മറിയ എന്നവര് തന്നേ. അവരോടുകൂടെയുള്ള മറ്റു സ്ത്രീകളും അതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. It was Marie Magdalene, and Ioanna, and Marie Iacobi, and other that were with them, which tolde these thinges vnto the Apostles.

11. ഈ വാക്കു അവര്ക്കും വെറും കഥപോലെ തോന്നി; അവരെ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

11. And their wordes seemed vnto them fayned thynges, neither beleued they them.

12. (എന്നാല് പത്രൊസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു കല്ലറെക്കല് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു കുനിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, തുണി മാത്രം കണ്ടു, സംഭവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.)

12. Then arose Peter, and ran vnto the sepulchre, and loked in, and sawe the linnen clothes layde by them selues, and departed, wondryng in him selfe at that which was come to passe.

13. അന്നു തന്നേ അവരില് രണ്ടുപേര് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയില്

13. And beholde, two of them went that same day to a towne called Emaus, which was from Hierusalem about threescore furlonges.

14. ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

14. And they talked together of all these thynges that were done.

15. സംസാരിച്ചും തര്ക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നു നടന്നു.

15. And it came to passe, that whyle they communed together & reasoned, Iesus him selfe drewe neare, and went with them.

16. അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

16. But their eyes were holden, that they shoulde not knowe him.

17. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മില് വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവര് വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.

17. And he sayde vnto them: What maner of communications are these that ye haue one to another as ye walke, and are sad?

18. ക്ളെയൊപ്പാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവന് ; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പരദേശികളില് നീ മാത്രം ഈ നാളുകളില് അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യം അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And the one of them, whose name was Cleophas, aunswered, and sayde to him: Art thou only a straunger in Hierusalem, & hast not knowen the thinges which are come to passe there, in these dayes?

19. ഏതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

19. He sayde vnto them: what thynges? And they sayde vnto him: Of Iesus of Nazareth, whiche was a prophete, mightie in deede and worde before God and all the people:

20. നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

20. And howe the hye priestes, and our rulers deliuered him to be condempned to death, and haue crucified him.

21. ഞങ്ങളോ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവന് എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള് ആകുന്നു.

21. But we trusted that it had ben he which shoulde haue redeemed Israel: And as touchyng all these thynges, to day is euen the thirde day, that they were done.

22. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ചില സ്ത്രീകള് രാവിലെ കല്ലറെക്കല് പോയി

22. Yea, and certayne women also of our companie made vs astonied, which came early vnto the sepulchre,

23. അവന്റെ ശരീരം കാണാതെ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവന് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ ദര്ശനം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു.

23. And founde not his body, and came, saying that they had seene a vision of angels, which sayde that he was alyue.

24. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ചിലര് കല്ലറക്കല് ചെന്നു സ്ത്രീകള് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ കണ്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

24. And certayne of them which were with vs, went to the sepulchre, & founde it euen so as the women had sayde: but hym they sawe not.

25. അവന് അവരോടുഅയ്യോ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത മന്ദബുദ്ധികളേ,

25. And he sayde vnto them: O fooles and slowe of heart, to beleue all that the prophetes haue spoken.

26. ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. Ought not Christe to haue suffered these thinges, & to enter into his glory?

27. മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരില് നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവര്ക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

27. And he began at Moyses, and all the prophetes, and interpreted vnto them in all Scriptures which were writen of hym.

28. അവര് പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള് അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.

28. And they drewe nye vnto the towne which they went vnto, and he made as though he would haue gone further.

29. അവരോഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് ചെന്നു.

29. And they constrayned hym, saying: abyde with vs, for it draweth towarde nyght, and the day is farre passed. And he went in to tary with them.

30. അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവര്ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.

30. And it came to passe, as he sate at meate with them, he toke bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gaue to them.

31. ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി

31. And their eyes were opened, and they knewe him: and he vanished out of their syght.

32. അവന് വഴിയില് നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോള് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളില് കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

32. And they sayde betweene them selues: Dyd not our heartes burne within vs, whyle he talked with vs by the way, and opened vnto vs the scriptures?

33. ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

33. And they rose vp the same houre, and returned [agayne] to Hierusalem, and founde the eleuen gathered together, and them that were with them,

34. കര്ത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.

34. Saying: The Lorde is rysen in deede, and hath appeared to Simon.

35. വഴിയില് സംഭവിച്ചതും അവന് അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയില് തങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിയായ്വന്നതും അവര് വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And they tolde what thynges were done in the way, and howe they knewe him in breakyng of bread.

36. ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവരുടെ നടുവില് നിന്നു(നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)

36. And as they thus spake, Iesus him selfe stoode in the middes of them, and saith vnto them: Peace be vnto you.

37. അവര് ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നി.

37. But they were abasshed and afrayde, & supposed that they had seene a spirite.

38. അവന് അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?

38. And he sayde vnto them: Why are ye troubled, and why do thoughtes arise in your heartes?

39. ഞാന് തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിന് ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിന് ; എന്നില് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Beholde my handes and my feete, that it is euen I my selfe: Handle me and see, for a spirite hath not fleshe and bones, as ye see me haue.

40. (ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)

40. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his handes and his feete.

41. അവര് സന്തോഷത്താല് വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവരോടുതിന്നുവാന് വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

41. And whyle they yet beleued not for ioy, and wondred, he sayde vnto them: Haue ye heare any meate?

42. അവര് ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേന് കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

42. And they offered him a peece of a broyled fishe, and of an hony combe.

43. അതു അവന് വാങ്ങി അവര് കാണ്കെ തിന്നു.

43. And he toke it, and dyd eate before them.

44. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീര്ത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.

44. And he sayde vnto them: These are the wordes which I spake vnto you, whyle I was yet with you, that all must [needes] be fulfylled, which were written of me in the law of Moyses, and in the prophetes, and in the psalmes.

45. ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാള് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമില് തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. Then opened he their wittes, that they myght vnderstande the scriptures.

46. ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:5, ഹോശേയ 6:2

46. And sayde vnto them: Thus is it written, and thus it behoued Christe to suffer, and to rise agayne from death the thirde day:

47. എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തില് പാര്പ്പിന് എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. And that repentaunce and remission of sinnes shoulde be preached in his name among all nations, and must begyn at Hierusalem.

48. അനന്തരം അവന് അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

48. And ye are witnesses of these thynges.

49. അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയില് അവന് അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വര്ഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).

49. And beholde I wyll sende the promise of my father vpon you: But tary ye in the citie of Hierusalem, vntyll ye be endued with power from an hye.

50. അവര് (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തില് ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.

50. And he led them out into Bethanie, and lift vp his handes, & blessed them.
