1. Very early on the first day of the week, at dawn, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

2. കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.

2. They found the stone rolled away from the entrance of the tomb,

3. അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.

3. but when they went in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവര് ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാര് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

4. While they were wondering about this, two men in shining clothes suddenly stood beside them.

5. The women were very afraid and bowed their heads to the ground. The men said to them, 'Why are you looking for a living person in this place for the dead?

6. He is not here; he has risen from the dead. Do you remember what he told you in Galilee?

7. He said the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful people, be crucified, and rise from the dead on the third day.'

8. Then the women remembered what Jesus had said.

9. The women left the tomb and told all these things to the eleven apostles and the other followers.

10. അവര് ആരെന്നാല് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ, യോഹന്നാ, യാക്കോബിന്റെ അമ്മ മറിയ എന്നവര് തന്നേ. അവരോടുകൂടെയുള്ള മറ്റു സ്ത്രീകളും അതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and some other women who told the apostles everything that had happened at the tomb.

11. But they did not believe the women, because it sounded like nonsense.

12. But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Bending down and looking in, he saw only the cloth that Jesus' body had been wrapped in. Peter went away to his home, wondering about what had happened.

13. അന്നു തന്നേ അവരില് രണ്ടുപേര് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയില്

13. That same day two of Jesus' followers were going to a town named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

14. ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

14. They were talking about everything that had happened.

15. സംസാരിച്ചും തര്ക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നു നടന്നു.

15. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and began walking with them,

16. അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

16. but they were kept from recognizing him.

17. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മില് വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവര് വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.

17. Then he said, 'What are these things you are talking about while you walk?' The two followers stopped, looking very sad.

18. The one named Cleopas answered, 'Are you the only visitor in Jerusalem who does not know what just happened there?'

19. ഏതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

19. Jesus said to them, 'What are you talking about?' They said, 'About Jesus of Nazareth. He was a prophet who said and did many powerful things before God and all the people.

20. നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

20. Our leaders and the leading priests handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him.

21. ഞങ്ങളോ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവന് എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള് ആകുന്നു.

21. But we were hoping that he would free Israel. Besides this, it is now the third day since this happened.

22. And today some women among us amazed us. Early this morning they went to the tomb,

23. but they did not find his body there. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels who said that Jesus was alive!

24. So some of our group went to the tomb, too. They found it just as the women said, but they did not see Jesus.'

25. Then Jesus said to them, 'You are foolish and slow to believe everything the prophets said.

26. ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. They said that the Christ must suffer these things before he enters his glory.'

27. മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരില് നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവര്ക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

27. Then starting with what Moses and all the prophets had said about him, Jesus began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures.

28. അവര് പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള് അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.

28. They came near the town of Emmaus, and Jesus acted as if he were going farther.

29. അവരോഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് ചെന്നു.

29. But they begged him, 'Stay with us, because it is late; it is almost night.' So he went in to stay with them.

30. അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവര്ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.

30. When Jesus was at the table with them, he took some bread, gave thanks, divided it, and gave it to them.

31. ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി

31. And then, they were allowed to recognize Jesus. But when they saw who he was, he disappeared.

32. അവന് വഴിയില് നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോള് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളില് കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

32. They said to each other, 'It felt like a fire burning in us when Jesus talked to us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us.'

33. ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

33. So the two followers got up at once and went back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven apostles and others gathered.

34. കര്ത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.

34. They were saying, 'The Lord really has risen from the dead! He showed himself to Simon.'

35. വഴിയില് സംഭവിച്ചതും അവന് അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയില് തങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിയായ്വന്നതും അവര് വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. Then the two followers told what had happened on the road and how they recognized Jesus when he divided the bread.

36. ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവരുടെ നടുവില് നിന്നു(നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)

36. While the two followers were telling this, Jesus himself stood right in the middle of them and said, 'Peace be with you.'

37. അവര് ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നി.

37. They were fearful and terrified and thought they were seeing a ghost.

38. അവന് അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?

38. But Jesus said, 'Why are you troubled? Why do you doubt what you see?

39. ഞാന് തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിന് ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിന് ; എന്നില് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have a living body as you see I have.'

40. (ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)

40. After Jesus said this, he showed them his hands and feet.

41. അവര് സന്തോഷത്താല് വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവരോടുതിന്നുവാന് വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

41. While they still could not believe it because they were amazed and happy, Jesus said to them, 'Do you have any food here?'

42. അവര് ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേന് കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

42. They gave him a piece of broiled fish.

43. അതു അവന് വാങ്ങി അവര് കാണ്കെ തിന്നു.

43. While the followers watched, Jesus took the fish and ate it.

44. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീര്ത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.

44. He said to them, 'Remember when I was with you before? I said that everything written about me must happen -- everything in the law of Moses, the books of the prophets, and the Psalms.'

45. ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാള് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമില് തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. Then Jesus opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

46. ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:5, ഹോശേയ 6:2

46. He said to them, 'It is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day

47. എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തില് പാര്പ്പിന് എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. and that a change of hearts and lives and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name to all nations, starting at Jerusalem.

48. അനന്തരം അവന് അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

48. You are witnesses of these things.

49. അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയില് അവന് അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വര്ഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).

49. I will send you what my Father has promised, but you must stay in Jerusalem until you have received that power from heaven.'

50. അവര് (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തില് ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.

50. Jesus led his followers as far as Bethany, and he raised his hands and blessed them.
