1. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും ഇയ്യോബിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. And Jehovah doth answer Job, and saith: --

2. ആക്ഷേപകന് സര്വ്വശക്തനോടു വാദിക്കുമോ? ദൈവത്തോടു തര്ക്കിക്കുന്നവന് ഇതിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയട്ടെ.

2. Is the striver with the Mighty instructed? The reprover of God, let him answer it.

3. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് യഹോവയോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

3. And Job answereth Jehovah, and saith: --

4. ഞാന് നിസ്സാരനല്ലോ, ഞാന് നിന്നോടു എന്തുത്തരം പറയേണ്ടു? ഞാന് കൈകൊണ്ടു വായി പൊത്തിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

4. Lo, I have been vile, What do I return to Thee? My hand I have placed on my mouth.

5. ഒരുവട്ടം ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചു; ഇനി ഉത്തരം പറകയില്ല. രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഞാന് ഉരചെയ്തു; ഇനി മിണ്ടുകയില്ല.

5. Once I have spoken, and I answer not, And twice, and I add not.

6. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റില്നിന്നു ഇയ്യോബിനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

6. And Jehovah answereth Job out of the whirlwind, and saith: --

7. നീ പുരുഷനെപ്പോലെ അര മുറുക്കിക്കൊള്ക; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും; നീ എനിക്കു ഗ്രഹിപ്പിച്ചുതരിക.

7. Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.

8. നീ എന്റെ ന്യായത്തെ ദുര്ബ്ബലപ്പെടുത്തുമോ? നീ നീതിമാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ കുറ്റം പറയുമോ?

8. Dost thou also make void My judgment? Dost thou condemn Me, That thou mayest be righteous?

9. ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ നിനക്കു ഭുജം ഉണ്ടോ? അവനെപ്പോലെ നിനക്കു ഇടിമുഴക്കാമോ?

9. And an arm like God hast thou? And with a voice like Him dost thou thunder?

10. നീ മഹിമയും പ്രതാപവും അണിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ക. തേജസ്സും പ്രഭാവവും ധരിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

10. Put on, I pray thee, excellency and loftiness, Yea, honour and beauty put on.

11. നിന്റെ കോപപ്രവാഹങ്ങളെ ഒഴുക്കുക; ഏതു ഗര്വ്വിയെയും നോക്കി താഴ്ത്തുക.

11. Scatter abroad the wrath of thine anger, And see every proud one, and make him low.

12. ഏതു ഗര്വ്വിയെയും നോക്കി കവിഴ്ത്തുക; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ അവരുടെ നിലയില് തന്നേ വീഴ്ത്തിക്കളക.

12. See every proud one -- humble him, And tread down the wicked in their place.

13. അവരെ ഒക്കെയും പൊടിയില് മറെച്ചുവെക്കുക; അവരുടെ മുഖങ്ങളെ മറവിടത്തു ബന്ധിച്ചുകളക.

13. Hide them in the dust together, Their faces bind in secret.

14. അപ്പോള് നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാനും നിന്നെ ശ്ളാഘിച്ചു പറയും.

14. And even I -- I do praise thee, For thy right hand giveth salvation to thee.

15. ഞാന് നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന നദീഹയമുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതു കാളയെപ്പോലെ പുല്ലുതിന്നുന്നു.

15. Lo, I pray thee, Behemoth, that I made with thee: Grass as an ox he eateth.

16. അതിന്റെ ശക്തി അതിന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തും അതിന്റെ ബലം വയറ്റിന്റെ മാംസപേശികളിലും ആകുന്നു.

16. Lo, I pray thee, his power [is] in his loins, And his strength in the muscles of his belly.

17. ദേവദാരുതുല്യമായ തന്റെ വാല് അതു ആട്ടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ തുടയിലെ ഞരമ്പുകള് കൂടി പിണഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. He doth bend his tail as a cedar, The sinews of his thighs are wrapped together,

18. അതിന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് ചെമ്പുകുഴല്പോലെയും എല്ലുകള് ഇരിമ്പഴിപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

18. His bones [are] tubes of brass, His bones [are] as a bar of iron.

19. അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൃഷ്ടികളില് പ്രധാനമായുള്ളതു; അതിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവന് അതിന്നു ഒരു വാള് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. He [is] a beginning of the ways of God, His Maker bringeth nigh his sword;

20. കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളൊക്കെയും കളിക്കുന്നിടമായ പര്വ്വതങ്ങള് അതിന്നു തീന് വിളയിക്കുന്നു.

20. For food do mountains bear for him, And all the beasts of the field play there.

21. അതു നീര്മരുതിന്റെ ചുവട്ടിലും ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ മറവിലും ചതുപ്പുനിലത്തും കിടക്കുന്നു.

21. Under shades he lieth down, In a secret place of reed and mire.

22. നീര്മരുതു നിഴല്കൊണ്ടു അതിനെ മറെക്കുന്നു; തോട്ടിങ്കലെ അലരി അതിനെ ചുറ്റി നിലക്കുന്നു;

22. Cover him do shades, [with] their shadow, Cover him do willows of the brook.

23. നദി കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകിയാലും അതു ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നില്ല; യോര്ദ്ദാന് അതിന്റെ വായിലേക്കു ചാടിയാലും അതു നിര്ഭയമായിരിക്കും.

23. Lo, a flood oppresseth -- he doth not haste, He is confident though Jordan Doth come forth unto his mouth.

24. അതു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ അതിനെ പിടിക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ മൂക്കില് കയര് കോര്ക്കാമോ?

24. Before his eyes doth [one] take him, With snares doth [one] pierce the nose?
