1. ജ്ഞാനമായവള് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ബുദ്ധിയായവള് തന്റെ സ്വരം കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

1. DOES NOT skillful and godly Wisdom cry out, and understanding raise her voice [in contrast to the loose woman]?

2. അവള് വഴിയരികെ മേടുകളുടെ മുകളില് പാതകള് കൂടുന്നേടത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. On the top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, stands Wisdom [skillful and godly];

3. അവള് പടിവാതിലുകളുടെ അരികത്തും പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലും ഗോപുരദ്വാരത്തിങ്കലും ഘോഷിക്കുന്നതു

3. At the gates at the entrance of the town, at the coming in at the doors, she cries out:

4. പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്വരം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വരുന്നു.

4. To you, O men, I call, and my voice is directed to the sons of men.

5. അല്പബുദ്ധികളേ, സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധി ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; മൂഢന്മാരേ, വിവേകഹൃദയന്മാരാകുവിന് .

5. O you simple and thoughtless ones, understand prudence; you [self-confident] fools, be of an understanding heart. [Isa. 32:6.]

6. കേള്പ്പിന് , ഞാന് ഉല്കൃഷ്ടമായതു സംസാരിക്കും; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളെ തുറക്കുന്നതു നേരിന്നു ആയിരിക്കും.

6. Hear, for I will speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for right things.

7. എന്റെ വായ് സത്യം സംസാരിക്കും; ദുഷ്ടത എന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്ക്കു അറെപ്പാകുന്നു.

7. For my mouth shall utter truth, and wrongdoing is detestable and loathsome to my lips.

8. എന്റെ വായിലെ മൊഴി ഒക്കെയും നീതിയാകുന്നു; അവയില് വക്രവും വികടവുമായതു ഒന്നുമില്ല.

8. All the words of my mouth are righteous (upright and in right standing with God); there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them.

9. അവയെല്ലാം ബുദ്ധിമാന്നു തെളിവും പരിജ്ഞാനം ലഭിച്ചവര്ക്കും നേരും ആകുന്നു.

9. They are all plain to him who understands [and opens his heart], and right to those who find knowledge [and live by it].

10. വെള്ളിയെക്കാള് എന്റെ പ്രബോധനവും മേത്തരമായ പൊന്നിനെക്കാള് പരിജ്ഞാനവും കൈക്കൊള്വിന് .

10. Receive my instruction in preference to [striving for] silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,

11. ജ്ഞാനം മുത്തുകളെക്കാള് നല്ലതാകുന്നു; മനോഹരമായതൊന്നും അതിന്നു തുല്യമാകയില്ല.

11. For skillful and godly Wisdom is better than rubies or pearls, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. [Job 28:15; Ps. 19:10; 119:127.]

12. ജ്ഞാനം എന്ന ഞാന് സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയെ എന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടമാക്കുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനവും വകതിരിവും ഞാന് കണ്ടു പിടിക്കുന്നു.

12. I, Wisdom [from God], make prudence my dwelling, and I find out knowledge and discretion. [James 1:5.]

13. യഹോവാഭക്തി ദോഷത്തെ വെറുക്കുന്നതാകുന്നു; ഡംഭം, അഹങ്കാരം, ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗം, വക്രതയുള്ള വായ് എന്നിവയെ ഞാന് പകെക്കുന്നു.

13. The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord [includes] the hatred of evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate.

14. ആലോചനയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും എനിക്കുള്ളതു; ഞാന് തന്നേ വിവേകം; എനിക്കു വീര്യബലം ഉണ്ടു.

14. I have counsel and sound knowledge, I have understanding, I have might and power.

15. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം രാജാക്കന്മാര് വാഴുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് നീതിയെ നടത്തുന്നു.

15. By me kings reign and rulers decree justice. [Dan. 2:21; Rom. 13:1.]

16. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം അധിപതിമാരും പ്രധാനികളും ഭൂമിയിലെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരൊക്കെയും ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുന്നു.

16. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges and governors of the earth.

17. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവര് എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

17. I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me. [I Sam. 2:30; Ps. 91:14; John 14:21; James 1:5.]

18. എന്റെ പക്കല് ധനവും മാനവും പുരാതനസമ്പത്തും നീതിയും ഉണ്ടു.

18. Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation, and right standing with God). [Prov. 3:16; Matt. 6:33.]

19. എന്റെ ഫലം പൊന്നിലും തങ്കത്തിലും എന്റെ ആദായം മേത്തരമായ വെള്ളിയിലും നല്ലതു.

19. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than refined gold, and my increase than choice silver.

20. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വസ്തുവക അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും അവരുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളെ നിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു

20. I [Wisdom] walk in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), in the midst of the paths of justice,

21. ഞാന് നീതിയുടെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും ന്യായത്തിന്റെ പാതകളിലും നടക്കുന്നു.

21. That I may cause those who love me to inherit [true] riches and that I may fill their treasuries.

22. യഹോവ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ തന്റെ വഴിയുടെ ആരംഭമായി, തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ആദ്യമായി എന്നെ ഉളവാക്കി.

22. The Lord formed and brought me [Wisdom] forth at the beginning of His way, before His acts of old.

23. ഞാന് പുരാതനമേ, ആദിയില് തന്നേ, ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉല്പത്തിക്കു മുമ്പെ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. I [Wisdom] was inaugurated and ordained from everlasting, from the beginning, before ever the earth existed. [John 1:1; I Cor. 1:24.]

24. ആഴങ്ങള് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞ ഉറവുകള് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് തന്നേ.

24. When there were no deeps, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains laden with water.

25. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതിന്നു മുമ്പെയും കുന്നുകള്ക്കു മുമ്പെയും ഞാന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth, [Job 15:7, 8.]

26. അവന് ഭൂമിയെയും വയലുകളെയും ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ പൊടിയുടെ തുകയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടില്ലാത്ത സമയത്തു തന്നേ.

26. While as yet He had not made the land or the fields or the first of the dust of the earth.

27. അവന് ആകാശത്തെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചപ്പോള് ഞാന് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് ആഴത്തിന്റെ ഉപരിഭാഗത്തു വൃത്തം വരെച്ചപ്പോഴും

27. When He prepared the heavens, I [Wisdom] was there; when He drew a circle upon the face of the deep and stretched out the firmament over it,

28. അവന് മീതെ മേഘങ്ങളെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചപ്പോഴും ആഴത്തിന്റെ ഉറവുകള് തടിച്ചപ്പോഴും

28. When He made firm the skies above, when He established the fountains of the deep,

29. വെള്ളം അവന്റെ കല്പനയെ അതിക്രമിക്കാതവണ്ണം അവന് സമുദ്രത്തിന്നു അതിര് വെച്ചപ്പോഴും ഭൂമിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടപ്പോഴും

29. When He gave to the sea its limit and His decree that the waters should not transgress [across the boundaries set by] His command, when He appointed the foundations of the earth--[Job 38:10, 11; Ps. 104:6-9; Jer. 5:22.]

30. ഞാന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ശില്പി ആയിരുന്നു; ഇടവിടാതെ അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് വിനോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ദിനംപ്രതി അവന്റെ പ്രമോദമായിരുന്നു.

30. Then I [Wisdom] was beside Him as a master and director of the work; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him always, [Matt. 3:17; John 1:2, 18.]

31. അവന്റെ ഭൂതലത്തില് ഞാന് വിനോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രമോദം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.

31. Rejoicing in His inhabited earth and delighting in the sons of men. [Ps. 16:3.]

32. ആകയാല് മക്കളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; എന്റെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

32. Now therefore listen to me, O you sons; for blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who keep my ways. [Ps. 119:1, 2; 128:1, 2; Luke 11:28.]

33. പ്രബോധനം കേട്ടു ബുദ്ധിമാന്മാരായിരിപ്പിന് ; അതിനെ ത്യജിച്ചുകളയരുതു.

33. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not refuse or neglect it.

34. ദിവസംപ്രതി എന്റെ പടിവാതില്ക്കല് ജാഗരിച്ചും എന്റെ വാതില്ക്കട്ടളെക്കല് കാത്തുകൊണ്ടും എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

34. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35. എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവന് ജീവനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; അവന് യഹോവയുടെ കടാക്ഷം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

35. For whoever finds me [Wisdom] finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord.

36. എന്നോടു പിഴെക്കുന്നവനോ തനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുന്നു; എന്നെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും മരണത്തെ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

36. But he who misses me or sins against me wrongs and injures himself; all who hate me love and court death.
