1. ജ്ഞാനമായവള് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ബുദ്ധിയായവള് തന്റെ സ്വരം കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

1. Listen! Wisdom is calling out. Reason is making herself heard.

2. അവള് വഴിയരികെ മേടുകളുടെ മുകളില് പാതകള് കൂടുന്നേടത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. On the hilltops near the road and at the crossroads she stands.

3. അവള് പടിവാതിലുകളുടെ അരികത്തും പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലും ഗോപുരദ്വാരത്തിങ്കലും ഘോഷിക്കുന്നതു

3. At the entrance to the city, beside the gates, she calls:

4. പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്വരം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വരുന്നു.

4. 'I appeal to all of you; I call to everyone on earth.

5. അല്പബുദ്ധികളേ, സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധി ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; മൂഢന്മാരേ, വിവേകഹൃദയന്മാരാകുവിന് .

5. Are you immature? Learn to be mature. Are you foolish? Learn to have sense.

6. കേള്പ്പിന് , ഞാന് ഉല്കൃഷ്ടമായതു സംസാരിക്കും; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളെ തുറക്കുന്നതു നേരിന്നു ആയിരിക്കും.

6. Listen to my excellent words; all I tell you is right.

7. എന്റെ വായ് സത്യം സംസാരിക്കും; ദുഷ്ടത എന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്ക്കു അറെപ്പാകുന്നു.

7. What I say is the truth; lies are hateful to me.

8. എന്റെ വായിലെ മൊഴി ഒക്കെയും നീതിയാകുന്നു; അവയില് വക്രവും വികടവുമായതു ഒന്നുമില്ല.

8. Everything I say is true; nothing is false or misleading.

9. അവയെല്ലാം ബുദ്ധിമാന്നു തെളിവും പരിജ്ഞാനം ലഭിച്ചവര്ക്കും നേരും ആകുന്നു.

9. To those with insight, it is all clear; to the well-informed, it is all plain.

10. വെള്ളിയെക്കാള് എന്റെ പ്രബോധനവും മേത്തരമായ പൊന്നിനെക്കാള് പരിജ്ഞാനവും കൈക്കൊള്വിന് .

10. Choose my instruction instead of silver; choose knowledge rather than the finest gold.

11. ജ്ഞാനം മുത്തുകളെക്കാള് നല്ലതാകുന്നു; മനോഹരമായതൊന്നും അതിന്നു തുല്യമാകയില്ല.

11. 'I am Wisdom, I am better than jewels; nothing you want can compare with me.

12. ജ്ഞാനം എന്ന ഞാന് സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയെ എന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടമാക്കുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനവും വകതിരിവും ഞാന് കണ്ടു പിടിക്കുന്നു.

12. I am Wisdom, and I have insight; I have knowledge and sound judgment.

13. യഹോവാഭക്തി ദോഷത്തെ വെറുക്കുന്നതാകുന്നു; ഡംഭം, അഹങ്കാരം, ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗം, വക്രതയുള്ള വായ് എന്നിവയെ ഞാന് പകെക്കുന്നു.

13. To honor the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil ways and false words.

14. ആലോചനയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും എനിക്കുള്ളതു; ഞാന് തന്നേ വിവേകം; എനിക്കു വീര്യബലം ഉണ്ടു.

14. I make plans and carry them out. I have understanding, and I am strong.

15. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം രാജാക്കന്മാര് വാഴുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് നീതിയെ നടത്തുന്നു.

15. I help kings to govern and rulers to make good laws.

16. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം അധിപതിമാരും പ്രധാനികളും ഭൂമിയിലെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരൊക്കെയും ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുന്നു.

16. Every ruler on earth governs with my help, officials and nobles alike.

17. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവര് എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

17. I love those who love me; whoever looks for me can find me.

18. എന്റെ പക്കല് ധനവും മാനവും പുരാതനസമ്പത്തും നീതിയും ഉണ്ടു.

18. I have riches and honor to give, prosperity and success.

19. എന്റെ ഫലം പൊന്നിലും തങ്കത്തിലും എന്റെ ആദായം മേത്തരമായ വെള്ളിയിലും നല്ലതു.

19. What you get from me is better than the finest gold, better than the purest silver.

20. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വസ്തുവക അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും അവരുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളെ നിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു

20. I walk the way of righteousness; I follow the paths of justice,

21. giving wealth to those who love me, filling their houses with treasures.

22. 'The LORD created me first of all, the first of his works, long ago.

23. I was made in the very beginning, at the first, before the world began.

24. ആഴങ്ങള് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞ ഉറവുകള് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് തന്നേ.

24. I was born before the oceans, when there were no springs of water.

25. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതിന്നു മുമ്പെയും കുന്നുകള്ക്കു മുമ്പെയും ഞാന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. I was born before the mountains, before the hills were set in place,

30. I was beside him like an architect, I was his daily source of joy, always happy in his presence---

31. അവന്റെ ഭൂതലത്തില് ഞാന് വിനോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രമോദം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.

31. happy with the world and pleased with the human race.

32. ആകയാല് മക്കളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; എന്റെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

32. 'Now, young people, listen to me. Do as I say, and you will be happy.

33. പ്രബോധനം കേട്ടു ബുദ്ധിമാന്മാരായിരിപ്പിന് ; അതിനെ ത്യജിച്ചുകളയരുതു.

33. Listen to what you are taught. Be wise; do not neglect it.

34. ദിവസംപ്രതി എന്റെ പടിവാതില്ക്കല് ജാഗരിച്ചും എന്റെ വാതില്ക്കട്ടളെക്കല് കാത്തുകൊണ്ടും എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

34. Those who listen to me will be happy--- those who stay at my door every day, waiting at the entrance to my home.

35. എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവന് ജീവനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; അവന് യഹോവയുടെ കടാക്ഷം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

35. Those who find me find life, and the LORD will be pleased with them.

36. എന്നോടു പിഴെക്കുന്നവനോ തനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുന്നു; എന്നെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും മരണത്തെ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

36. Those who do not find me hurt themselves; anyone who hates me loves death.'
