1. നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു മക്കള് ആകുന്നു; മരിച്ചവന്നു വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങളെ മുറിവേല്പിക്കയോ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുന് കഷണ്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുതു.

1. People of Israel, you are the LORD's children, so when you mourn for the dead, you must not cut yourselves or shave your forehead.

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു നീ വിശുദ്ധജനമല്ലോ; ഭൂതലത്തിലുള്ള സകലജാതികളിലും വെച്ചു തനിക്കു സ്വന്തജനമായിരിപ്പാന് യഹോവ നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Out of all the nations on this earth, the LORD your God chose you to be his own. You belong to the LORD, so don't behave like those who worship other gods.

3. Don't eat any disgusting animals.

4. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാകുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങള് ആവിതു

4. You may eat the meat of cattle, sheep, and goats; wild sheep and goats; and gazelles, antelopes, and all kinds of deer.

5. കാള, ചെമ്മരിയാടു, കോലാടു, കലമാന് , പുള്ളിമാന് , കടമാന് , കാട്ടാടു, ചെറുമാന് മലയാടു കവരിമാന് .

6. മൃഗങ്ങളില് കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നതും കുളമ്പു രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതും അയവിറക്കുന്നതുമായ മൃഗത്തെ ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

6. It is all right to eat meat from any animals that have divided hoofs and also chew the cud.

7. എന്നാല് അയവിറക്കുന്നവയിലും കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നവയിലും തിന്നരുതാത്തവ ഏവയെന്നാല്ഒട്ടകം, മുയല്, കുഴി മുയല്; അവ അയവിറക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നവയല്ല; അവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം.

7. But don't eat camels, rabbits, and rock badgers. These animals chew the cud but do not have divided hoofs. You must treat them as unclean.

8. പന്നിഅതു കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നതെങ്കിലും അയവിറക്കുന്നില്ല; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം ഇവയുടെ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു; പിണം തൊടുകയും അരുതു.

8. And don't eat pork, since pigs have divided hoofs, but they do not chew their cud. Don't even touch a dead pig!

9. വെള്ളത്തിലുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിലും ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

9. You can eat any fish that has fins and scales. But there are other creatures that live in the water,

10. എന്നാല് ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഇല്ലാത്തതൊന്നും തിന്നരുതു; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം.

10. and if they do not have fins and scales, you must not eat them. Treat them as unclean.

11. ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള സകലപക്ഷികളെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

11. You can eat any clean bird.

12. പക്ഷികളില് തിന്നരുതാത്തവകടല്റാഞ്ചന് , ചെമ്പരുന്തു, കഴുകന് ,

12. But don't eat the meat of any of the following birds: eagles, vultures, falcons, kites, ravens, ostriches, owls, sea gulls, hawks, pelicans, ospreys, cormorants, storks, herons, and hoopoes. You must not eat bats.

18. പെരുഞാറ, അതതുവിധം കൊകൂ, കുളക്കോഴി, നരിച്ചീര് എന്നിവയാകുന്നു.

19. ചിറകുള്ള ഇഴജാതിയൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം; അവയെ തിന്നരുതു.

19. Swarming insects are unclean, so don't eat them.

20. ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള പക്ഷികളെയൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

20. However, you are allowed to eat certain kinds of winged insects.

21. താനേ ചത്ത ഒന്നിനെയും തിന്നരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശിക്കു തിന്മാന് കൊടുക്കാംഅല്ലെങ്കില് അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്നു വില്ക്കാം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു നീ വിശുദ്ധജനമല്ലോ. ആട്ടിന് കുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലില് പാകം ചെയ്യരുതു.

21. You belong to the LORD your God, so if you happen to find a dead animal, don't eat its meat. You may give it to foreigners who live in your town or sell it to foreigners who are visiting your town. Don't boil a young goat in its mother's milk.

22. ആണ്ടുതോറും നിലത്തു വിതെച്ചുണ്ടാകുന്ന എല്ലാവിളവിലും ദശാംശം എടുത്തുവെക്കേണം.

22. People of Israel, every year you must set aside ten percent of your grain harvest.

23. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഭയപ്പെടുവാന് പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നീ നിന്റെ ധാന്യത്തിന്റെയും വീഞ്ഞിന്റെയും എണ്ണയുടെയും ദശാംശവും നിന്റെ ആടുമാടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകളെയും അവന്റെ സന്നിധയില്വെച്ചു തിന്നേണം.

23. Also set aside ten percent of your wine and olive oil, and the first-born of every cow, sheep, and goat. Take these to the place where the LORD chooses to be worshiped, and eat them there. This will teach you to always respect the LORD your God.

24. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം വളരെ അകലെയും അതുകൊണ്ടുപോകുവാന് കഴിയാതവണ്ണം വഴി അതിദൂരവുമായിരുന്നാല്

24. But suppose you can't carry that ten percent of your harvest to the place where the LORD chooses to be worshiped. If you live too far away, or if the LORD gives you a big harvest,

25. അതു വിറ്റു പണമാക്കി പണം കയ്യില് എടുത്തു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം.

25. then sell this part and take the money there instead.

26. നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ മാടോ ആടോ വീഞ്ഞോ മദ്യമോ ഇങ്ങനെ നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ഏതിനെയും ആ പണം കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങി നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്വെച്ചു തിന്നു നീയും നിന്റെ കുടുംബവും സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

26. When you and your family arrive, spend the money on food for a big celebration. Buy cattle, sheep, goats, wine, beer, and if there are any other kinds of food that you want, buy those too.

27. നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള ലേവ്യനെ മറന്നു കളയരുതു; അവന്നു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.

27. And since people of the Levi tribe won't own any land for growing crops, remember to ask the Levites to celebrate with you.

28. മുമ്മൂന്നു ആണ്ടു കൂടുമ്പോള് മൂന്നാം സംവത്സരത്തില് നിനക്കുള്ള വിളവിന്റെ ദശാംശം ഒക്കെയും; വേര്തിരിച്ചു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് സംഗ്രഹിക്കേണം.

28. Every third year, instead of using the ten percent of your harvest for a big celebration, bring it into town and put it in a community storehouse.

29. നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന സകല പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലാത്ത ലേവ്യനും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശിയും അനാഥനും വിധവയും വന്നു തിന്നു തൃപ്തരാകേണം.

29. The Levites have no land of their own, so you must give them food from the storehouse. You must also give food to the poor who live in your town, including orphans, widows, and foreigners. If they have enough to eat, then the LORD your God will be pleased and make you successful in everything you do.
