1. ദാവീദിന്റെ അന്ത്യവാക്യങ്ങളാവിതുയിശ്ശായിപ്പുത്രന് ദാവീദ് ചൊല്ലുന്നു; ഔന്നത്യം പ്രാപിച്ച പുരുഷന് ചൊല്ലുന്നു; യാക്കോബിന് ദൈവത്താല് അഭിഷിക്തന് , യിസ്രായേലിന് മധുരഗായകന് തന്നേ.

1. Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Yishai says, The man who was raised on high says, The anointed of the God of Ya`akov, The sweet psalmist of Yisra'el:

2. യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു എന്നില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വചനം എന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

2. The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, His word was on my tongue.

3. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേലിന് പാറ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുമനുഷ്യരെ നീതിമാനായി ഭരിക്കുന്നവന് ,

3. The God of Yisra'el said, The Rock of Yisra'el spoke to me: One who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God,

4. ദൈവഭയത്തോടെ വാഴുന്നവന് , മേഘമില്ലാത്ത പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു സുര്യോദയത്തിങ്കലെ പ്രകാശത്തിന്നു തുല്യന് ; മഴെക്കു പിമ്പു സൂര്യകാന്തിയാല് ഭൂമിയില് മുളെക്കുന്ന ഇളമ്പുല്ലിന്നു തുല്യന് .

4. He shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, A morning without clouds, When the tender grass springs out of the eretz, Through clear shining after rain.

5. ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് എന്റെ ഗൃഹം അതു പോലെയല്ലയോ? അവന് എന്നോടു ഒരു ശാശ്വതനിയമം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോഅതു എല്ലാറ്റിലും സ്ഥാപിതവും സ്ഥിരവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു. അവന് എനിക്കു സകലരക്ഷയും വാഞ്ഛയും തഴെപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ?

5. Most assuredly my house is not so with God; Yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in all things, and sure: For it is all my salvation, and all my desire, Although he doesn't make it grow.

6. എന്നാല് സകലനീചന്മാരും എറിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നതും കൈകൊണ്ടു പിടിച്ചുകൂടാത്തതുമായ മുള്ളുപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

6. But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, Because they can't be taken with the hand

7. അവയെ തൊടുവാന് തുനിയുന്നവന് ഇരിമ്പും കുന്തപ്പിടിയും ധരിച്ചിരിക്കേണം; അവയെ അവ കിടക്കുന്നേടത്തു തന്നേ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം.

7. But the man who touches them Must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear: They shall be utterly burned with fire in their place

8. ദാവീദിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വീരന്മാരുടെ പേരുകളാവിതുതഹ്കെമോന്യന് യോശേബ്-ബശ്ശേബെത്ത്; അവന് നായകന്മാരില് തലവന് ; എണ്ണൂറുപേരെ ഒരേ സമയത്തു ആക്രമിച്ചു കൊന്ന എസ്ന്യന് അദീനോ ഇവന് തന്നേ.

8. These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Yoshev-Bashshevet a Tachkemonite, chief of the captains; the same was `Adino the Etznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.

9. അവന്റെ ശേഷം ഒരു അഹോഹ്യന്റെ മകനായ ദോദായിയുടെ മകന് എലെയാസാര്; അവന് ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്യര് പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞപ്പോള് ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ നിന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെല്ലുവിളിച്ച മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് ആയിരുന്നു.

9. After him was El`azar the son of Dodo the son of an Achochi, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Pelishtim who were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Yisra'el were gone away.

10. അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു കൈതളര്ന്നു വാളോടു പറ്റിപ്പോകുംവരെ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടി; അന്നു യഹോവ വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി; കൊള്ളയിടുവാന് മാത്രമേ പടജ്ജനം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിവന്നുള്ളു.

10. He arose, and struck the Pelishtim until his hand was weary, and his hand froze to the sword; and the LORD worked a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take spoil.

11. അവന്റ ശേഷം ഹാരാര്യ്യനായ ആഗേയുടെ മകനായ ശമ്മാ; ഒരിക്കല്; ചെറുപയര് ഉള്ളോരു വയലില് കവര്ച്ചെക്കു ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് കൂടിവന്നപ്പോള് ജനം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

11. After him was Shammah the son of Agee a Harari. The Pelishtim were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Pelishtim.

12. അവനോ വയലിന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു അതിനെ കാത്തു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടി; യഹോവ വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി.

12. But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Pelishtim; and the LORD worked a great victory.

13. മുപ്പതു നായകന്മാരില് മൂന്നുപേര് കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു അദുല്ലാംഗുഹയില് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ സൈന്യം രെഫായീംതാഴ്വരയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

13. Three of the thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of `Adullam; and the troop of the Pelishtim was encamped in the valley of Refa'im.

14. അന്നു ദാവീദ് ദുര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ആയിരുന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്ക്കും ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമില് അക്കാലത്തു ഒരു കാവല്പട്ടാളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

14. David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Pelishtim was then in Beit-Lechem.

15. ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലെ കിണറ്റില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് ആര് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തരും എന്നു ദാവീദ് ആര്ത്തിപൂണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beit-Lechem, which is by the gate!

16. അപ്പോള് ആ മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ പാളയത്തില്കൂടി കടന്നുചെന്നു ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലെ കിണറ്റില് നിന്നു വെള്ളം കോരി ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവനോ അതു കുടിപ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ യഹോവേക്കു നിവേദിച്ചു ഒഴിച്ചു

16. The three mighty men broke through the host of the Pelishtim, and drew water out of the well of Beit-Lechem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.

17. യഹോവേ, തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ രക്തം ഞാന് കുടിക്കയോ? ഇതു ചെയ്വാന് എനിക്കു സംഗതിവരരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു കുടിപ്പാന് അവന്നു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു. ഇതാകുന്നു ഈ മൂന്നു വീരന്മാര് ചെയ്തതു.

17. He said, Be it far from me, LORD, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

18. യോവാബിന്റെ സഹോദരനും സെരൂയയുടെ മകനുമായ അബീശായി മൂന്നുപേരില് തലവന് ആയിരുന്നു. അവന് തന്റെ കുന്തത്തെ മന്നൂറുപേരുടെ നേരെ ഔങ്ങി, അവരെ കൊന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് മൂവരില്വെച്ചു കീര്ത്തി പ്രാപിച്ചു.

18. Avishai, the brother of Yo'av, the son of Tzeru'yah, was chief of the three. He lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.

19. അവന് മൂവരിലും മാനം ഏറിയവന് ആയിരുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും തലവനായ്തീര്ന്നു. എന്നാല് അവന് മറ്റെ മൂവരോളം വരികയില്ല.

19. Wasn't he most honorable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: however he didn't attain to the first three.

20. കബ്സേലില് ഒരു പരാക്രമശാലിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകന് ബെനായാവും വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികള് ചെയ്തു; അവന് മോവാബിലെ അരീയേലിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരെ സംഹരിച്ചതുമല്ലാതെ ഹിമകാലത്തു ഒരു ഗുഹയില് ചെന്നു ഒരു സിംഹത്തെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

20. Benayah the son of Yehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kavtz'el, who had done mighty deeds, he killed the two sons of Ari'el of Mo'av: he went down also and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.

21. അവന് കോമളനായ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യനെയും സംഹരിച്ചു; മിസ്രയീമ്യന്റെ കയ്യില് ഒരു കുന്തം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവനോ ഒരു വടിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നും കുന്തം പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചു കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നു.

21. He killed a Mitzrian, a goodly man: and the Mitzrian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Mitzrian's hand, and killed him with his own spear.

22. ഇതു യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവു ചെയ്തു, മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരില് കീര്ത്തി പ്രാപിച്ചു.

22. These things did Benayah the son of Yehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.

23. അവന് മുപ്പതുപേരില് മാനമേറിയവനായിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും മറ്റെ മൂന്നുപേരോളം വരികയില്ല. ദാവീദ് അവനെ അകമ്പടിനായകനാക്കി.

23. He was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn't attain to the first three. David set him over his guard.

24. യോവാബിയന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അസാഹേല് മുപ്പതുപേരില് ഒരുത്തന് ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് ആരെന്നാല്ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമ്യനായ ദോദോവിന്റെ മകന് എല്ഹാനാന് , ഹരോദ്യന് ശമ്മാ, ഹരോദ്യന് എലീക്കാ,

24. `Asa'el the brother of Yo'av was one of the thirty; Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beit-Lechem,

25. പല്ത്യന് ഹേലെസ്, തെക്കോവ്യനായ ഇക്കേശിന്റെ മകന് ഈരാ,

25. Shammah the Harodi, Elika the Harodi,

26. അനഥോത്യന് അബീയേസെര്, ഹൂശാത്യന് മെബുന്നായി, അഹോഹ്യന് സല്മോന് ,

26. Heletz the Paltite, `Ira the son of `Ikkesh the Tekoite,

27. നെത്തോഫാത്യന് മഹരായി,

27. Avi-Ezer the `Antotite, Mevunnai the Hushatite,

28. നെത്തോഫാത്യനായ ബാനയുടെ മകന് ഹേലെബ്,

28. Tzalmon the Achochi, Maharai the Netofatite,

29. ബെന്യാമീന്യരുടെ ഗിബെയയില്നിന്നുള്ള രീബായിയുടെ മകന് ഇത്ഥായി,

29. Helev the son of Ba`anah the Netofatite, Ittai the son of Rivai of Gevah of the children of Binyamin,

30. പിരാതോന്യന് ബെനായ്യാവു,

30. Benayah a Pir`atonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Ga`ash.

31. നഹലേഗാശുകാരന് ഹിദ്ദായി, അര്ബാത്യന് അബീ-അല്ബോന് , ബര്ഹൂമ്യന് അസ്മാവെത്ത്,

31. Avi-Alvon the `Arvati, `Azmavet the Barchumite,

32. ശാല്ബോന്യന് എല്യഹ്ബാ, യാശേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്

32. Elyachba the Sha`alvonite, the sons of Yashen, Yonatan,

33. യോനാഥാന് , ഹരാര്യ്യന് ശമ്മ, അരാര്യ്യനായ ശാരാരിന്റെ മകന് അഹീരാം,

33. Shammah the Harari, Achi'am the son of Sharar the Ararite,

34. മാഖാത്യന്റെ മകനായ അഹശ്ബായിയുടെ മകന് എലീഫേലെത്, ഗിലോന്യനായ അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ മകന് എലീയാം,

34. Elifelet the son of Achasbai, the son of the Ma`akhatite, Eli`am the son of Achitofel the Giloni,

35. കര്മ്മേല്യന് ഹെസ്രോ, അര്ബ്യന് പാറായി,

35. Hetzro the Karmelite, Pa`arai the Arbi,

36. സോബക്കാരനായ നാഥാന്റെ മകന് യിഗാല്,

36. Yig'al the son of Natan of Tzovah, Bani the Gadite,

37. ഗാദ്യന് ബാനി, സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ യോവാബിന്റെ ആയുധവാഹകന്മാരായ അമ്മോന്യന് സേലെക്ക്, ബെരോത്യന് നഹരായി.

37. Tzelek the `Ammonite, Naharai the Be'erotite, armor bearers to Yo'av the son of Tzeru'yah,

38. യിത്രിയന് ഈരാ, യിത്രിയന് ഗാരേബ്,

38. `Ira the Yitri, Garev the Yitri,

39. ഹിത്യന് ഊരീയാവു ഇങ്ങനെ ആകെ മുപ്പത്തേഴുപേര്.
