1. ദാവീദിന്റെ അന്ത്യവാക്യങ്ങളാവിതുയിശ്ശായിപ്പുത്രന് ദാവീദ് ചൊല്ലുന്നു; ഔന്നത്യം പ്രാപിച്ച പുരുഷന് ചൊല്ലുന്നു; യാക്കോബിന് ദൈവത്താല് അഭിഷിക്തന് , യിസ്രായേലിന് മധുരഗായകന് തന്നേ.

1. These be the last sayings of David. David the son of Isai said: And the man is lifted up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob and pleasant Psalmist of Israel said:

2. യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു എന്നില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വചനം എന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

2. the spirit of the LORD spake in me, and his words were on my tongue.

3. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേലിന് പാറ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുമനുഷ്യരെ നീതിമാനായി ഭരിക്കുന്നവന് ,

3. The God of Israel spake unto me, and the strength of Israel said: he that beareth rule over men, he that ruleth justly in the fear of God.

4. ദൈവഭയത്തോടെ വാഴുന്നവന് , മേഘമില്ലാത്ത പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു സുര്യോദയത്തിങ്കലെ പ്രകാശത്തിന്നു തുല്യന് ; മഴെക്കു പിമ്പു സൂര്യകാന്തിയാല് ഭൂമിയില് മുളെക്കുന്ന ഇളമ്പുല്ലിന്നു തുല്യന് .

4. And he shall be as the morning light, when the son shineth in a morning in which are no clouds to let the brightness, and as the grass of the earth is by the virtue of the rain.

5. ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് എന്റെ ഗൃഹം അതു പോലെയല്ലയോ? അവന് എന്നോടു ഒരു ശാശ്വതനിയമം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോഅതു എല്ലാറ്റിലും സ്ഥാപിതവും സ്ഥിരവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു. അവന് എനിക്കു സകലരക്ഷയും വാഞ്ഛയും തഴെപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ?

5. And is not mine house so with God? in that he hath made with me an everlasting covenant perfect in all points: and in that he shall fulfil all that is healthsome unto me, and all my desires thereto.

6. എന്നാല് സകലനീചന്മാരും എറിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നതും കൈകൊണ്ടു പിടിച്ചുകൂടാത്തതുമായ മുള്ളുപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

6. When the unthrifty men are all of them as thorns taken out of their places, which can not be taken with hands.

7. അവയെ തൊടുവാന് തുനിയുന്നവന് ഇരിമ്പും കുന്തപ്പിടിയും ധരിച്ചിരിക്കേണം; അവയെ അവ കിടക്കുന്നേടത്തു തന്നേ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം.

7. But the man that shall touch them, must be armed with iron on a long helve. And then shall they be burned with fire to sit thereby.

8. ദാവീദിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വീരന്മാരുടെ പേരുകളാവിതുതഹ്കെമോന്യന് യോശേബ്-ബശ്ശേബെത്ത്; അവന് നായകന്മാരില് തലവന് ; എണ്ണൂറുപേരെ ഒരേ സമയത്തു ആക്രമിച്ചു കൊന്ന എസ്ന്യന് അദീനോ ഇവന് തന്നേ.

8. These be the names of the mighty men that were about David: Joseb of Sebeth the Thachmonite, first of three, otherwise called Adino the Azonite, which slew eight hundredth at one time.

9. And next to him Eleazar the son of Dodi the son of Ahohi, one of the three principal that were with David, which when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together in battle (and the men of Israel were gone up)

10. അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു കൈതളര്ന്നു വാളോടു പറ്റിപ്പോകുംവരെ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടി; അന്നു യഹോവ വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി; കൊള്ളയിടുവാന് മാത്രമേ പടജ്ജനം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിവന്നുള്ളു.

10. arose and laid on the Philistines until his hand ached and clave unto the sword. And the LORD made a great victory the same day. And the people returned and went after him only to spoil.

11. അവന്റ ശേഷം ഹാരാര്യ്യനായ ആഗേയുടെ മകനായ ശമ്മാ; ഒരിക്കല്; ചെറുപയര് ഉള്ളോരു വയലില് കവര്ച്ചെക്കു ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് കൂടിവന്നപ്പോള് ജനം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

11. After him was Sema the son of Ageh the Hararite (which when the Philistines were gathered together in Lahaia where was a parcel of land full of rice, and the people were fled for fear of the Philistines)

12. അവനോ വയലിന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു അതിനെ കാത്തു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടി; യഹോവ വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി.

12. stood in the midst of the said ground, and defended it and slew the Philistines. And the LORD gave him a great victory.

13. മുപ്പതു നായകന്മാരില് മൂന്നുപേര് കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു അദുല്ലാംഗുഹയില് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ സൈന്യം രെഫായീംതാഴ്വരയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

13. And these three of the thirty of the Lord's went down and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave Odolom. And the Host of the Philistines had pitched in the valley of Giants.

14. അന്നു ദാവീദ് ദുര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ആയിരുന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്ക്കും ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമില് അക്കാലത്തു ഒരു കാവല്പട്ടാളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

14. And David was then in an hold. And the Soldiers of the Philistines were then in Bethlehem.

15. ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലെ കിണറ്റില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് ആര് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തരും എന്നു ദാവീദ് ആര്ത്തിപൂണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And David longed and said: Oh, that I had of the water that is in the well in the gate of Bethlehem for to drink.

16. അപ്പോള് ആ മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ പാളയത്തില്കൂടി കടന്നുചെന്നു ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലെ കിണറ്റില് നിന്നു വെള്ളം കോരി ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവനോ അതു കുടിപ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ യഹോവേക്കു നിവേദിച്ചു ഒഴിച്ചു

16. And anon the three mighty brake thorow the Host of the Philistines and fetched water out of the well of Bethlehem that was in the gate, and took and brought it to David: Nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but offered it unto the LORD

17. യഹോവേ, തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ രക്തം ഞാന് കുടിക്കയോ? ഇതു ചെയ്വാന് എനിക്കു സംഗതിവരരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു കുടിപ്പാന് അവന്നു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു. ഇതാകുന്നു ഈ മൂന്നു വീരന്മാര് ചെയ്തതു.

17. and said: the LORD forbid that I should do so, should I drink the blood of men that were in jeopardy of their lives? and so he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

18. യോവാബിന്റെ സഹോദരനും സെരൂയയുടെ മകനുമായ അബീശായി മൂന്നുപേരില് തലവന് ആയിരുന്നു. അവന് തന്റെ കുന്തത്തെ മന്നൂറുപേരുടെ നേരെ ഔങ്ങി, അവരെ കൊന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് മൂവരില്വെച്ചു കീര്ത്തി പ്രാപിച്ചു.

18. Then Abisai the brother of Joab, the son of Saruiah: he was a captain over the three, and he lifted up his spear against three hundredth and slew them, and was named with the three.

19. അവന് മൂവരിലും മാനം ഏറിയവന് ആയിരുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും തലവനായ്തീര്ന്നു. എന്നാല് അവന് മറ്റെ മൂവരോളം വരികയില്ല.

19. For he was nobler man than the three and was their captain. How be it he attained not unto those three in acts.

20. കബ്സേലില് ഒരു പരാക്രമശാലിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകന് ബെനായാവും വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികള് ചെയ്തു; അവന് മോവാബിലെ അരീയേലിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരെ സംഹരിച്ചതുമല്ലാതെ ഹിമകാലത്തു ഒരു ഗുഹയില് ചെന്നു ഒരു സിംഹത്തെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

20. Then Banaiah the son of Jehoiada the son of a lusty man valiant in acts of Rabzeel, he slew two lions of Moab. He went down and slew a lion in a pit in time of Snow.

21. അവന് കോമളനായ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യനെയും സംഹരിച്ചു; മിസ്രയീമ്യന്റെ കയ്യില് ഒരു കുന്തം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവനോ ഒരു വടിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നും കുന്തം പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചു കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നു.

21. And he slew an Egyptian a goodly man, which had a spear in his hand. And Banaiah went down to him with a staff and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand and slew him with his own spear:

22. ഇതു യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവു ചെയ്തു, മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരില് കീര്ത്തി പ്രാപിച്ചു.

22. Such things did Banaiah the son of Jehoiada and was the noblest of thirty: But not like to any of the three in facts of war.

23. അവന് മുപ്പതുപേരില് മാനമേറിയവനായിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും മറ്റെ മൂന്നുപേരോളം വരികയില്ല. ദാവീദ് അവനെ അകമ്പടിനായകനാക്കി.

23. And David made him of his counsel.

24. യോവാബിയന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അസാഹേല് മുപ്പതുപേരില് ഒരുത്തന് ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് ആരെന്നാല്ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമ്യനായ ദോദോവിന്റെ മകന് എല്ഹാനാന് , ഹരോദ്യന് ശമ്മാ, ഹരോദ്യന് എലീക്കാ,

24. Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty. Then Elehanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem:

25. പല്ത്യന് ഹേലെസ്, തെക്കോവ്യനായ ഇക്കേശിന്റെ മകന് ഈരാ,

25. Semah the Harodite: Elica the Harodite:

26. അനഥോത്യന് അബീയേസെര്, ഹൂശാത്യന് മെബുന്നായി, അഹോഹ്യന് സല്മോന് ,

26. Helez the Palitite: Ira the son of Akes the Thekoite:

27. നെത്തോഫാത്യന് മഹരായി,

27. Abiezer of Anathoth: Mobonai the Husathite:

28. നെത്തോഫാത്യനായ ബാനയുടെ മകന് ഹേലെബ്,

28. Zelmon an Ahohite: Maharai the Netophathite:

29. ബെന്യാമീന്യരുടെ ഗിബെയയില്നിന്നുള്ള രീബായിയുടെ മകന് ഇത്ഥായി,

29. Heleb the son of Baanah an Netophathite: Ithai the son of Ribai of Gabaah a city of the children of Benjamin:

30. പിരാതോന്യന് ബെനായ്യാവു,

30. Banaiah the Pharathonite: Hedai of the river of Gaas:

31. നഹലേഗാശുകാരന് ഹിദ്ദായി, അര്ബാത്യന് അബീ-അല്ബോന് , ബര്ഹൂമ്യന് അസ്മാവെത്ത്,

31. Abialbon the Arbathite: Asmaueth a Berhomite:

32. ശാല്ബോന്യന് എല്യഹ്ബാ, യാശേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്

32. Elithaba a Salabonite: Of the sons of Jasen Jonathas:

33. യോനാഥാന് , ഹരാര്യ്യന് ശമ്മ, അരാര്യ്യനായ ശാരാരിന്റെ മകന് അഹീരാം,

33. Semah the Harorite: Ahiam the son of Sarar an Ararite:

34. മാഖാത്യന്റെ മകനായ അഹശ്ബായിയുടെ മകന് എലീഫേലെത്, ഗിലോന്യനായ അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ മകന് എലീയാം,

34. Eliphelet the son of Aasbai the son of a Maachathite: Eliam the son of Ahitophel the Gilonite:

35. കര്മ്മേല്യന് ഹെസ്രോ, അര്ബ്യന് പാറായി,

35. Hezrai the Carmelite: Pharai the Arbite:

36. സോബക്കാരനായ നാഥാന്റെ മകന് യിഗാല്,

36. Igaal the son of Nathan of Zobah: Bani the Gadite:

37. ഗാദ്യന് ബാനി, സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ യോവാബിന്റെ ആയുധവാഹകന്മാരായ അമ്മോന്യന് സേലെക്ക്, ബെരോത്യന് നഹരായി.

37. Zelec an Ammonite: Naharai a Berothite the Harnessbearer of Joab the son of Zaruiah:

38. യിത്രിയന് ഈരാ, യിത്രിയന് ഗാരേബ്,

38. Ira the Jethrite: Gareb the Jethrite:

39. ഹിത്യന് ഊരീയാവു ഇങ്ങനെ ആകെ മുപ്പത്തേഴുപേര്.
