1. The following were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still banned from the presence of Saul son of Kish. They were among the warriors who helped him in battle.

2. They were archers who, using either their right or left hand, could [throw] stones [with a sling] or [shoot] arrows with a bow. They were Saul's relatives from Benjamin:

3. ഗിബേയാത്യനായ ശെമായയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്, അസ്മാവെത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് യസീയേല്, പേലെത്ത്, ബെരാഖാ, അനാഥോത്യന് യേഹൂ.

3. Their chief was Ahiezer son of Shemaah the Gibeathite. Then there was his brother Joash; Jeziel and Pelet sons of Azmaveth; Beracah, Jehu the Anathothite;

4. Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a warrior among the Thirty and [a leader] over the Thirty;Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, Jozabad the Gederathite;

5. എലൂസായി, യെരീമോത്ത്, ബെയല്യാവു, ശെമര്യ്യാവു, ഹരൂഫ്യനായ ശെഫത്യാവു,

5. Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, Shephatiah the Haruphite;

6. എല്ക്കാനാ, യിശ്ശീയാവു, അസരേല്, കോരഹ്യരായ യോവേസെര്, യാശൊബ്യാം;

6. Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites;

7. and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham from Gedor.

8. Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the desert. They were fighting men, trained for battle, expert with shield and spear. Their faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles on the mountains.

13. Jeremiah tenth, and Machbannai eleventh.

14. ഇവര് ഗാദ്യരില് പടനായകന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു; അവരില് ചെറിയവന് നൂറുപേര്ക്കും വലിയവന് ആയിരംപേര്ക്കും മതിയായവന് .

14. These Gadites were army commanders; the least of them was a match for a hundred, and the greatest of them for a thousand.

15. അവര് ഒന്നാം മാസത്തില് യോര്ദ്ദാന് കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുമ്പോള് അതിനെ കടന്നു താഴ്വര നിവാസികളെയൊക്കെയും കിഴക്കോട്ടും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും ഔടിച്ചു.

15. These are the men who crossed the Jordan in the first month when it was overflowing all its banks, and put to flight all [those in] the valleys to the east and to the west.

16. ചില ബെന്യാമീന്യരും യെഹൂദ്യരും ദുര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

16. Other Benjaminites and men from Judah also went to David at the stronghold.

17. ദാവീദ് അവരെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് എന്നെ സഹായിപ്പാന് സമാധാനത്തോടെ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കും; എന്റെ കയ്യില് അന്യായം ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള്ക്കു എന്നെ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുപ്പാനെങ്കിലോ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവം നോക്കി ശിക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. David went out to meet them and said to them, 'If you have come in peace to help me, my heart will be united with you, but if you have come to betray me to my enemies even though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our ancestors look on it and judge.'

18. അപ്പോള് മുപ്പതുപേരില് തലവനായ അമാസായിയുടെമേല് ആത്മാവു വന്നുദാവീദേ, ഞങ്ങള് നിനക്കുള്ളവര്, യിശ്ശായ്പുത്രാ, നിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാര് തന്നേ; സമാധാനം, നിനക്കു സമാധാനം; നിന്റെ തുണയാളികള്ക്കും സമാധാനം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ലോ നിന്നെ തുണെക്കുന്നതു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. ദാവീദ് അവരെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു പടക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു തലവന്മാരാക്കി.

18. Then the Spirit took control of Amasai, chief of the Thirty, [and he said]: [We are] yours, David, [we are] with you, son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you, for your God helps you. So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.

19. Some Manassites defected to David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. However, they did not help the Philistines because the Philistine rulers, following consultation, sent David away. They said, 'It will be our heads if he defects to his master Saul.'

20. അങ്ങനെ അവന് സീക്ളാഗില് ചെന്നപ്പോള് മനശ്ശെയില്നിന്നു അദ്നാഹ്, യോസാബാദ്, യെദീയയേല്, മീഖായേല്, യോസാബാദ്, എലീഹൂ, സില്ലെഥായി എന്നീ മനശ്ശേയ സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാര് അവനോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

20. When David went to Ziklag, some men from Manasseh defected to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, chiefs of thousands in Manasseh.

21. അവര് ഒക്കെയും വീരന്മാരും പടനായകന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു കവര്ച്ചക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ദാവീദിനെ സഹായിച്ചു.

21. They helped David against the marauders, for they were all brave warriors and commanders in the army.

22. ദാവീദിനെ സഹായിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദിവസംപ്രതി ആളുകള് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു ഒടുവില് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൈന്യംപോലെ വലിയോരു സൈന്യമായ്തീര്ന്നു.

22. At that time, men came day after day to help David until there was a great army, like an army of God.

23. The numbers of the armed troops who came to David at Hebron to turn Saul's kingdom over to him, according to the LORD's word, were as follows:

24. പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുത്തു യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായ യെഹൂദ്യര് ആറായിരത്തെണ്ണൂറുപേര്.

24. From the Judahites: 6,800 armed troops bearing shields and spears.

25. ശിമെയോന്യരില് ശൌര്യമുള്ള യുദ്ധവീരന്മാര് എഴായിരത്തൊരുനൂറുപേര്.

25. From the Simeonites: 7,100 brave warriors ready for war.

26. ലേവ്യരില് നാലായിരത്തറുനൂറുപേര്

26. From the Levites: 4,600

27. അഹരോന്യരില് പ്രഭു യെഹോയാദാ; അവനോടുകൂടെ മൂവായിരത്തെഴുനൂറുപേര്.

27. in addition to Jehoiada, leader of the house of Aaron, with 3,700 men;

28. പരാക്രമശാലിയായി യൌവനക്കാരനായ സാദോക്, അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലെ ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്.

28. and Zadok, a young brave warrior, with 22 commanders from his own ancestral house.

29. From the Benjaminites, the relatives of Saul: 3,000 (up to that time the majority of the Benjaminites maintained their allegiance to the house of Saul).

30. എഫ്രയീമ്യരില് പരാക്രമശാലികളായി തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങളില് ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടവരായ ഇരുപതിനായിരത്തെണ്ണൂറു പേര്.

30. From the Ephraimites: 20,800 brave warriors who were famous men in their ancestral houses.

31. മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തില് പതിനെണ്ണായിരംപേര്. ദാവീദിനെ രാജാവാക്കുവാന് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇവരെ പേരുപേരായി കുറിച്ചിരുന്നു.

31. From half the tribe of Manasseh: 18,000 designated by name to come and make David king.

32. യിസ്സാഖാര്യ്യരില് യിസ്രായേല് ഇന്നതു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അറിവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കാലജ്ഞന്മാരായ തലവന്മാര് ഇരുനൂറുപേര്; അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരൊക്കെയും അവരുടെ കല്പനെക്കു വിധേയരായിരുന്നു.

32. From the Issacharites, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do: 200 chiefs with all their relatives under their command.

33. സെബൂലൂനില് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി സകലവിധ യുദ്ധായുധങ്ങളെ ധരിച്ചു നിരനിരയായി ഐകമത്യത്തോടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടവര് അമ്പതിനായിരംപേര്.

33. From Zebulun: 50,000 who could serve in the army, trained for battle with all kinds of weapons of war, with singleness of purpose to help David.

34. നഫ്താലിയില് നായകന്മാര് ആയിരംപേര്; അവരോടുകൂടെ പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുത്തവര് മുപ്പത്തേഴായിരംപേര്.

34. From Naphtali: 1,000 commanders accompanied by 37,000 men with shield and spear.

35. ദാന്യരില് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധര് ഇരുപത്തെണ്ണായിരത്തറുനൂറുപേര്.

35. From the Danites: 28,600 trained for battle.

36. ആശേരില് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി പടെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടവര് നാല്പതിനായിരംപേര്.

36. From Asher: 40,000 who could serve in the army, trained for battle.

37. യോര്ദ്ദാന്നു അക്കരെ രൂബേന്യരിലും ഗാദ്യരിലും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിലും സകലവിധ യുദ്ധായുധങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ലക്ഷത്തിരുപതിനായിരം പേര്.

37. From across the Jordan-- from the Reubenites, Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh: 120,000 men equipped with all the military weapons of war.

38. അണിനിരപ്പാന് കഴിവുള്ള യോദ്ധാക്കളായ ഇവരെല്ലാവരും ദാവീദിനെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏകാഗ്രമനസ്സോടെ ഹെബ്രോനിലേക്കു വന്നു; ശേഷമുള്ള യിസ്രായേലും എല്ലാം ദാവീദിനെ രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഐകമത്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

38. All these warriors, lined up in battle formation, came to Hebron with wholehearted determination to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of Israel was also of one mind to make David king.

39. അവര് അവിടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചും പാനം ചെയ്തുംകൊണ്ടു ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാര്ത്തു; അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര് അവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി വട്ടംകൂട്ടിയിരുന്നു.

39. They were there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their relatives had provided for them.

40. In addition, their neighbors from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali came bringing food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen-- abundant provisions of flour, fig cakes, raisins, wine and oil, oxen, and sheep. Indeed, there was joy in Israel.
