1. കീശിന്റെ മകനായ ശൌലിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ദാവീദ് ഒളിച്ചുപാര്ത്തിരുന്നപ്പോള് സീക്ളാഗില് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നര് ആവിതു--അവര് വീരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് അവന്നു യുദ്ധത്തില് തുണചെയ്തു;

1. Now these were the ones who came to David at Ziklag while he was still restrained from before Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, helping in the war,

2. അവര് വില്ലാളികളും വലങ്കൈകൊണ്ടും ഇടങ്കൈകൊണ്ടും കല്ലെറിവാനും വില്ലുകൊണ്ടു അമ്പെയ്വാനും സമര്ത്ഥന്മാരുമായിരുന്നു:-- ബെന്യാമീന്യരായ ശൌലിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് തലവനായ അഹീയേസെര്, യോവാശ്,

2. armed with bows, using both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows with the bow; Saul's brethren from Benjamin.

3. ഗിബേയാത്യനായ ശെമായയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്, അസ്മാവെത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് യസീയേല്, പേലെത്ത്, ബെരാഖാ, അനാഥോത്യന് യേഹൂ.

3. The chief: Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; Jeziel and Pelet the sons of Azmaveth; Berachah, and Jehu the Anathothite;

4. മുപ്പതുപേരില് വീരനും മുപ്പതുപേര്ക്കും നായകനുമായി ഗിബെയോന്യനായ യിശ്മയ്യാവു, യിരെമ്യാവു, യഹസീയേല്, യോഹാനാന് , ഗെദേരാത്യനായ യോസാബാദ്,

4. Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite;

5. എലൂസായി, യെരീമോത്ത്, ബെയല്യാവു, ശെമര്യ്യാവു, ഹരൂഫ്യനായ ശെഫത്യാവു,

5. Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite;

6. എല്ക്കാനാ, യിശ്ശീയാവു, അസരേല്, കോരഹ്യരായ യോവേസെര്, യാശൊബ്യാം;

6. Elkanah, Jisshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites;

7. ഗെദോരില്നിന്നുള്ള യെരോഹാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യോവേലാ, സെബദ്യാവു,

7. and Joelah and Zebadiah the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

8. പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുപ്പാന് പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള വീരന്മാരും യുദ്ധാഭ്യാസികളും ഗാദ്യരെ പിരിഞ്ഞു വന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് ദുര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ദാവീദിനോടു ചേര്ന്നു; അവര് സിംഹമുഖന്മാരും മലകളിലെ മാന് പേടകളെപ്പോലെ വേഗതയുള്ളവരുമായിരുന്നു.

8. Some Gadites had separated over to David at the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men of war fit for battle, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as gazelles on the mountains:

11. ആറാമന് അത്ഥായി, ഏഴാമന് എലീയേല്,

11. Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

12. എട്ടാമന് യോഹാനാന് , ഒമ്പതാമന് , എല്സാബാദ്,

12. Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

13. പത്താമന് യിരെമ്യാവു, പതിനൊന്നാമന് മഖ്ബന്നായി.

13. Jeremiah the tenth, and Machbanai the eleventh.

14. ഇവര് ഗാദ്യരില് പടനായകന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു; അവരില് ചെറിയവന് നൂറുപേര്ക്കും വലിയവന് ആയിരംപേര്ക്കും മതിയായവന് .

14. These were from the sons of Gad, chiefs of the army; the least was over a hundred, and the greatest was over a thousand.

15. അവര് ഒന്നാം മാസത്തില് യോര്ദ്ദാന് കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുമ്പോള് അതിനെ കടന്നു താഴ്വര നിവാസികളെയൊക്കെയും കിഴക്കോട്ടും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും ഔടിച്ചു.

15. These are the ones who crossed over the Jordan in the first month, when it was overflowing all its banks; and they put to flight all those in the valleys, to the east and to the west.

16. ചില ബെന്യാമീന്യരും യെഹൂദ്യരും ദുര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

16. And some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold.

17. ദാവീദ് അവരെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് എന്നെ സഹായിപ്പാന് സമാധാനത്തോടെ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കും; എന്റെ കയ്യില് അന്യായം ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള്ക്കു എന്നെ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുപ്പാനെങ്കിലോ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവം നോക്കി ശിക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see it and judge.

18. അപ്പോള് മുപ്പതുപേരില് തലവനായ അമാസായിയുടെമേല് ആത്മാവു വന്നുദാവീദേ, ഞങ്ങള് നിനക്കുള്ളവര്, യിശ്ശായ്പുത്രാ, നിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാര് തന്നേ; സമാധാനം, നിനക്കു സമാധാനം; നിന്റെ തുണയാളികള്ക്കും സമാധാനം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ലോ നിന്നെ തുണെക്കുന്നതു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. ദാവീദ് അവരെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു പടക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു തലവന്മാരാക്കി.

18. And when the Spirit had clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, he said: We are yours, O David; we are on your side, O son of Jesse. Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers. For your God helps you. So David received them, and assigned them to the chiefs among the troops.

19. ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടുകൂടെ ശൌലിന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു ചെന്നപ്പോള് മനശ്ശേയരില് ചിലരും അവനോടു ചേര്ന്നു; അവര് അവര്ക്കും തുണ ചെയ്തില്ലതാനും; ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ആലോചിച്ചിട്ടുഅവന് നമ്മുടെ തലയുംകൊണ്ടു തന്റെ യജമാനനായ ശൌലിന്റെ പക്ഷം തിരിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

19. Some from Manasseh had fallen out to David when he was going with the Philistines to battle against Saul; but they did not help them, for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after taking counsel, saying, He may fall out to his master Saul with our heads.

20. അങ്ങനെ അവന് സീക്ളാഗില് ചെന്നപ്പോള് മനശ്ശെയില്നിന്നു അദ്നാഹ്, യോസാബാദ്, യെദീയയേല്, മീഖായേല്, യോസാബാദ്, എലീഹൂ, സില്ലെഥായി എന്നീ മനശ്ശേയ സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാര് അവനോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

20. When he went to Ziklag, those of Manasseh who had fallen out to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai; heads of thousands from Manasseh.

21. അവര് ഒക്കെയും വീരന്മാരും പടനായകന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു കവര്ച്ചക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ദാവീദിനെ സഹായിച്ചു.

21. And they helped David against the bands of raiders, for they were all mighty men of valor, and they were commanders in the army;

22. ദാവീദിനെ സഹായിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദിവസംപ്രതി ആളുകള് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു ഒടുവില് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൈന്യംപോലെ വലിയോരു സൈന്യമായ്തീര്ന്നു.

22. for at that time they came to David day by day to help him, until it was a great camp, like the host of God.

23. യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം ശൌലിന്റെ രാജത്വം ദാവീദിന്നു ആക്കുവാന് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി ഹെബ്രോനില് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്ന തലവന്മാരുടെ സംഖ്യകളാവിതു

23. These were the numbers of the divisions that were equipped for war, who had come to David at Hebron to turn over the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the mouth of Jehovah:

24. പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുത്തു യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായ യെഹൂദ്യര് ആറായിരത്തെണ്ണൂറുപേര്.

24. of the sons of Judah bearing shield and spear, six thousand eight hundred armed for war;

25. ശിമെയോന്യരില് ശൌര്യമുള്ള യുദ്ധവീരന്മാര് എഴായിരത്തൊരുനൂറുപേര്.

25. of the sons of Simeon, mighty men of valor fit for war, seven thousand one hundred;

26. ലേവ്യരില് നാലായിരത്തറുനൂറുപേര്

26. of the sons of Levi four thousand six hundred;

27. അഹരോന്യരില് പ്രഭു യെഹോയാദാ; അവനോടുകൂടെ മൂവായിരത്തെഴുനൂറുപേര്.

27. Jehoiada, the leader of the Aaronites, and with him three thousand seven hundred;

28. പരാക്രമശാലിയായി യൌവനക്കാരനായ സാദോക്, അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലെ ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്.

28. Zadok, a young man mighty in valor, and from his father's house twenty-two commanders;

29. ശൌലിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ബെന്യാമീന്യരില് മൂവായിരം പേര്; അവരില് ഭൂരിപക്ഷം അതുവരെ ശൌല്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ കാര്യം നോക്കിവന്നിരുന്നു.

29. of the sons of Benjamin, kindred of Saul, three thousand (for until then the greater number of them were keeping the charge of guarding the house of Saul);

30. എഫ്രയീമ്യരില് പരാക്രമശാലികളായി തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങളില് ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടവരായ ഇരുപതിനായിരത്തെണ്ണൂറു പേര്.

30. of the sons of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men throughout the house of their fathers;

31. മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തില് പതിനെണ്ണായിരംപേര്. ദാവീദിനെ രാജാവാക്കുവാന് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇവരെ പേരുപേരായി കുറിച്ചിരുന്നു.

31. of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who had been designated by name to come and make David king;

32. യിസ്സാഖാര്യ്യരില് യിസ്രായേല് ഇന്നതു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അറിവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കാലജ്ഞന്മാരായ തലവന്മാര് ഇരുനൂറുപേര്; അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരൊക്കെയും അവരുടെ കല്പനെക്കു വിധേയരായിരുന്നു.

32. of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

33. സെബൂലൂനില് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി സകലവിധ യുദ്ധായുധങ്ങളെ ധരിച്ചു നിരനിരയായി ഐകമത്യത്തോടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടവര് അമ്പതിനായിരംപേര്.

33. of Zebulun there were fifty thousand who could go out to war and set the battle in array with all implements of war, to help with undivided heart;

34. നഫ്താലിയില് നായകന്മാര് ആയിരംപേര്; അവരോടുകൂടെ പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുത്തവര് മുപ്പത്തേഴായിരംപേര്.

34. of Naphtali one thousand commanders, and with them thirty-seven thousand with shield and spear;

35. ദാന്യരില് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധര് ഇരുപത്തെണ്ണായിരത്തറുനൂറുപേര്.

35. of the Danites who could draw up in battle formation, twenty-eight thousand six hundred;

36. ആശേരില് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി പടെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടവര് നാല്പതിനായിരംപേര്.

36. of Asher, those who could go out to war and draw up in battle formation, forty thousand;

37. യോര്ദ്ദാന്നു അക്കരെ രൂബേന്യരിലും ഗാദ്യരിലും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിലും സകലവിധ യുദ്ധായുധങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ലക്ഷത്തിരുപതിനായിരം പേര്.

37. of the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, from the other side of the Jordan, one hundred and twenty thousand armed for battle with every kind of implement of war.

38. അണിനിരപ്പാന് കഴിവുള്ള യോദ്ധാക്കളായ ഇവരെല്ലാവരും ദാവീദിനെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏകാഗ്രമനസ്സോടെ ഹെബ്രോനിലേക്കു വന്നു; ശേഷമുള്ള യിസ്രായേലും എല്ലാം ദാവീദിനെ രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഐകമത്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

38. All these men of war, who could keep ranks, came to Hebron with a perfect heart, to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

39. അവര് അവിടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചും പാനം ചെയ്തുംകൊണ്ടു ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാര്ത്തു; അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര് അവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി വട്ടംകൂട്ടിയിരുന്നു.

39. And they were there with David three days, eating and drinking, for their brethren had prepared for them.

40. യിസ്രായേലില് സന്തോഷമുണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു സമീപവാസികള്, യിസ്സാഖാര്, സെബൂലൂന് , നഫ്താലി എന്നിവര് കൂടെ, കഴുതപ്പുറത്തും ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തും കോവര്കഴുതപ്പുറത്തും കാളപ്പുറത്തും, അപ്പം, മാവു, അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട, ഉണക്കമുന്തിരിപ്പഴം, വീഞ്ഞ്, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയെയും കാളകളെയും വളരെ ആടുകളെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

40. Moreover those who were near to them, from as far away as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing food on donkeys and camels, on mules and oxen; provisions of flour and cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, wine and oil and oxen and sheep abundantly, for there was joy in Israel.
