1. ശലോമോന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞു.

1. As soon as Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and burned up the offerings. The LORD's dazzling glory then filled the temple,

2. യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കടപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

2. and the priests could not go in.

3. തീ ഇറങ്ങിയതും ആലയത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളൊക്കെയും കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് കല്ക്കളത്തില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചുഅവന് നല്ലവന് അല്ലോ; അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നു ചൊല്ലി സ്തുതിച്ചു.

3. When the crowd of people saw the fire and the LORD's glory, they knelt down and worshiped the LORD. They prayed: 'The LORD is good, and his love never ends.'

4. പിന്നെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

4. Solomon and the people dedicated the temple to the LORD by sacrificing twenty-two thousand cattle and one hundred twenty thousand sheep.

5. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഇരുപത്തീരായിരം കാളയെയും ഒരുലക്ഷത്തിരുപതിനായിരം ആടിനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും ദൈവാലയത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

6. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഉദ്യോഗം അനുസരിച്ചും ലേവ്യര്അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര്മുഖാന്തരം ദാവീദ് സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്ത സമയത്തു യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പാന് ദാവീദ്രാജാവു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യഹോവയുടെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയും നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേല് ഒക്കെയും നില്ക്കേ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതി.

6. Everybody stood up during the ceremony. The priests were in their assigned places, blowing their trumpets. And the Levites faced them, playing the musical instruments that David had made for them to use when they praised the LORD for his never-ending love.

7. ശലോമോന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം, ഭോജനയാഗം, മേദസ്സ് എന്നിവ കൊള്ളാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രാകാരത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു, അവിടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

7. On that same day, Solomon dedicated the courtyard in front of the temple and got it ready to be used for worship. The bronze altar he had made was too small, so he used the courtyard to offer sacrifices to please the LORD and grain sacrifices, and also to send up in smoke the fat from the other offerings.

8. ശലോമോനും ഹമാത്തിന്റെ അതിര്മുതല് മിസ്രയീംതോടുവരേയുള്ള എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സഭയായി ആ സമയത്തു ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു.

8. For seven days, Solomon and the crowd celebrated the Festival of Shelters, and people came from as far away as the Egyptian Gorge in the south and Lebo-Hamath in the north.

9. എട്ടാം ദിവസം അവര് വിശുദ്ധസഭായോഗംകൂടി; ഏഴു ദിവസം അവര് യാഗപീഠപ്രതിഷ്ഠ കൊണ്ടാടി, ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവവും ആചരിച്ചു.

9. Then on the next day, everyone came together for worship. They had celebrated a total of fourteen days, seven days for the dedication of the altar and seven more days for the festival.

10. ഏഴാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാം തീയ്യതി അവന് ജനത്തെ യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്നും ശലോമോന്നും തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും ചെയ്ത നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവും ഉള്ളവരായി അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

10. Then on the twenty-third day of the seventh month, Solomon sent everyone home. They left very happy because of all the good things the LORD had done for David and Solomon, and for his people Israel.

11. ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജധാനിയും തീര്ത്തു; യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും തന്റെ അരമനയിലും ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് ശലോമോന്നു താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് ശുഭമായി നിവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

11. The LORD's temple and Solomon's palace were now finished. In fact, everything Solomon had planned to do was completed.

12. അതിന്റെശേഷം യഹോവ രാത്രിയില് ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലം എനിക്കു യാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള ആലയമായിട്ടു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. Some time later, the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream and said: I heard your prayer, and I have chosen this temple as the place where sacrifices will be offered to me.

13. മഴ പെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ആകാശം അടെക്കയോ ദേശത്തെ തിന്നു മുടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെട്ടുക്കിളിയോടു കല്പിക്കയോ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് മഹാമാരി വരുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്താല്,

13. Suppose I hold back the rain or send locusts to eat the crops or make my people suffer with deadly diseases.

14. എന്റെ നാമം വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു എന്റെ മുഖം അന്വേഷിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു തിരിയുമെങ്കില്, ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു കേട്ടു അവരുടെ പാപം ക്ഷമിച്ചു അവരുടെ ദേശത്തിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കും.

14. If my own people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again.

15. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു കഴിക്കുന്ന പ്രാര്ത്ഥനെക്കു എന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിരിക്കയും എന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

15. I will hear the prayers made in this temple,

16. എന്റെ നാമം ഈ ആലയത്തില് എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് അതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയും എന്റെ ഹൃദയവും എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. because it belongs to me, and this is where I will be worshiped forever. I will never stop watching over it.

17. നീയോ നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ്,നടന്നതുപോലെ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടക്കയും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്കയും എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

17. Your father David obeyed me, and now, Solomon, you must do the same. Obey my laws and teachings,

18. യിസ്രായേലില് വാഴുവാന് നിനക്കു ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഇല്ലാതെവരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തെ സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

18. and I will keep my solemn promise to him that someone from your family will always be king of Israel.

19. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് തിരിഞ്ഞു, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

19. But if you or any of the people of Israel disobey my laws or start worshiping foreign gods,

20. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്ത എന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നായി ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തെയും ഞാന് എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് ഒരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവും ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും.

20. I will pull you out of this land I gave you. I will desert this temple where I said I would be worshiped, so that people everywhere will think it is only a joke and will make fun of it.

21. ഈ ആലയം എത്ര ഉന്നതമായിരുന്നാലും കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും അതിനെപ്പറ്റി സ്തംഭിച്ചുയഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ വരുത്തുവാന് സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

21. This temple is now magnificent. But when these things happen, everyone who walks by it will be shocked and will ask, 'Why did the LORD do such a terrible thing to his people and to this temple?'

22. അതിന്നു അവര്തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അവര് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദൈവങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവന് ഈ അനര്ത്ഥമൊക്കെയും അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

22. Then they will answer, 'It was because the people of Israel rejected the LORD their God, who rescued their ancestors from Egypt, and they started worshiping other gods.'
