1. ശലോമോന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞു.

1. When Solomon had finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Yahweh filled the Temple.

2. യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കടപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

2. The priests could not enter the Temple of Yahweh, because the glory of Yahweh filled the Temple of Yahweh.

3. തീ ഇറങ്ങിയതും ആലയത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളൊക്കെയും കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് കല്ക്കളത്തില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചുഅവന് നല്ലവന് അല്ലോ; അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നു ചൊല്ലി സ്തുതിച്ചു.

3. When all the Israelites saw the fire come down and the glory of Yahweh resting on the Temple, they bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the earth, worshipping and praising Yahweh with 'For he is good, for his faithful love lasts for ever!'

4. പിന്നെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

4. Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Yahweh.

5. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഇരുപത്തീരായിരം കാളയെയും ഒരുലക്ഷത്തിരുപതിനായിരം ആടിനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും ദൈവാലയത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

5. King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep; and thus the king and all the people dedicated the Temple of God.

6. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഉദ്യോഗം അനുസരിച്ചും ലേവ്യര്അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര്മുഖാന്തരം ദാവീദ് സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്ത സമയത്തു യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പാന് ദാവീദ്രാജാവു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യഹോവയുടെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയും നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേല് ഒക്കെയും നില്ക്കേ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതി.

6. The priests stood in their places, as did the Levites with Yahweh's musical instruments which King David had provided, to render 'Give thanks to Yahweh, for his faithful love lasts for ever!' whenever David offered praise to their accompaniment. Opposite them, the priests blew trumpets, while all Israel stood.

7. ശലോമോന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം, ഭോജനയാഗം, മേദസ്സ് എന്നിവ കൊള്ളാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രാകാരത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു, അവിടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

7. Solomon also consecrated the middle part of the court in front of the Temple of Yahweh; for that was where he presented the burnt offerings and the fatty parts of the communion sacrifices, since the bronze altar which Solomon had made could not hold the burnt offering, the oblation and the fatty parts.

8. ശലോമോനും ഹമാത്തിന്റെ അതിര്മുതല് മിസ്രയീംതോടുവരേയുള്ള എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സഭയായി ആ സമയത്തു ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു.

8. And then Solomon and with him all Israel from the Pass of Hamath to the Torrent of Egypt -- a very great assembly -- celebrated the feast for seven days.

9. എട്ടാം ദിവസം അവര് വിശുദ്ധസഭായോഗംകൂടി; ഏഴു ദിവസം അവര് യാഗപീഠപ്രതിഷ്ഠ കൊണ്ടാടി, ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവവും ആചരിച്ചു.

9. On the eighth day they held the assembly, for they had devoted seven days to the dedication of the altar and seven days to the feast.

10. ഏഴാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാം തീയ്യതി അവന് ജനത്തെ യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്നും ശലോമോന്നും തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും ചെയ്ത നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവും ഉള്ളവരായി അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

10. On the twenty-third day of the seventh month Solomon dismissed the people to their homes, rejoicing and happy of heart over the goodness which Yahweh had shown to David, to Solomon and to his people Israel.

11. ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജധാനിയും തീര്ത്തു; യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും തന്റെ അരമനയിലും ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് ശലോമോന്നു താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് ശുഭമായി നിവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

11. Thus Solomon finished the Temple of Yahweh and the royal palace, and he successfully concluded everything that he was of a mind to do in the Temple of Yahweh and in his own palace.

12. അതിന്റെശേഷം യഹോവ രാത്രിയില് ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലം എനിക്കു യാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള ആലയമായിട്ടു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. Then Yahweh appeared to Solomon in the night and said, 'I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

13. മഴ പെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ആകാശം അടെക്കയോ ദേശത്തെ തിന്നു മുടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെട്ടുക്കിളിയോടു കല്പിക്കയോ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് മഹാമാരി വരുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്താല്,

13. If I shut the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the country, or if I send pestilence among my people,

14. എന്റെ നാമം വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു എന്റെ മുഖം അന്വേഷിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു തിരിയുമെങ്കില്, ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു കേട്ടു അവരുടെ പാപം ക്ഷമിച്ചു അവരുടെ ദേശത്തിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കും.

14. if my people who bear my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my presence and turn from their wicked ways, then I will listen from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their country.

15. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു കഴിക്കുന്ന പ്രാര്ത്ഥനെക്കു എന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിരിക്കയും എന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

15. Now and for the future my eyes are open and my ears attentive to prayer offered in this place,

16. എന്റെ നാമം ഈ ആലയത്തില് എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് അതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയും എന്റെ ഹൃദയവും എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. for now I have chosen and consecrated this Temple, for my name to be there for ever; my eyes and my heart will constantly be there.

17. നീയോ നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ്,നടന്നതുപോലെ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടക്കയും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്കയും എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

17. And if, for your part, you walk before me as your father David did, and do everything that I have commanded you to do, and keep my laws and my ordinances,

18. യിസ്രായേലില് വാഴുവാന് നിനക്കു ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഇല്ലാതെവരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തെ സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

18. I shall make your royal throne secure, as I covenanted with your father David when I said: You will never lack for a male to rule in Israel.

19. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് തിരിഞ്ഞു, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

19. But if you turn away and forsake my laws and commandments which I have laid down for you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,

20. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്ത എന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നായി ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തെയും ഞാന് എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് ഒരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവും ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും.

20. then I shall uproot them from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple which I have consecrated for my name and make it a proverb and a byword among all the peoples.

21. ഈ ആലയം എത്ര ഉന്നതമായിരുന്നാലും കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും അതിനെപ്പറ്റി സ്തംഭിച്ചുയഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ വരുത്തുവാന് സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

21. And at this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by will be appalled, and will say, 'Why has Yahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?'

22. അതിന്നു അവര്തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അവര് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദൈവങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവന് ഈ അനര്ത്ഥമൊക്കെയും അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

22. And the answer will be, 'Because they deserted Yahweh, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why he has brought all these disasters on them.' '
