1. ശലോമോന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞു.

1. When Shlomo had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of ADONAI filled the house,

2. യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കടപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

2. so that the [cohanim] could not enter the house of ADONAI; because the glory of ADONAI filled ADONAI's house.

3. തീ ഇറങ്ങിയതും ആലയത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളൊക്കെയും കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് കല്ക്കളത്തില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചുഅവന് നല്ലവന് അല്ലോ; അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നു ചൊല്ലി സ്തുതിച്ചു.

3. All the people of Isra'el saw when the fire came down, and the glory of ADONAI was on the house; they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the flooring; prostrating themselves, they gave thanks to ADONAI, 'for he is good, for his grace continues forever.'

4. പിന്നെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

4. Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before ADONAI.

5. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഇരുപത്തീരായിരം കാളയെയും ഒരുലക്ഷത്തിരുപതിനായിരം ആടിനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും ദൈവാലയത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

5. King Shlomo offered a sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. Thus the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഉദ്യോഗം അനുസരിച്ചും ലേവ്യര്അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര്മുഖാന്തരം ദാവീദ് സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്ത സമയത്തു യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പാന് ദാവീദ്രാജാവു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യഹോവയുടെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയും നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേല് ഒക്കെയും നില്ക്കേ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതി.

6. The [cohanim] stood at their appointed stations, while the [L'vi'im] used the instruments that David the king had provided for making music to ADONAI in order to 'give thanks to ADONAI, for his grace continues forever,' by means of the praises David had composed. Opposite them the [cohanim] sounded trumpets; and all Isra'el stood up.

7. ശലോമോന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം, ഭോജനയാഗം, മേദസ്സ് എന്നിവ കൊള്ളാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രാകാരത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു, അവിടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

7. Shlomo also consecrated the center of the courtyard in front of the house of ADONAI; because he had to offer the burnt offerings and the fat of the peace offerings there. For the bronze altar which Shlomo had made could not receive the burnt offering, the grain offering and the fat.

8. ശലോമോനും ഹമാത്തിന്റെ അതിര്മുതല് മിസ്രയീംതോടുവരേയുള്ള എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സഭയായി ആ സമയത്തു ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു.

8. So Shlomo celebrated the festival at that time for seven days, together with all Isra'el, an enormous gathering; [[they had come all the way]] from the entrance of Hamat to the [Vadi] [[of Egypt]].

9. എട്ടാം ദിവസം അവര് വിശുദ്ധസഭായോഗംകൂടി; ഏഴു ദിവസം അവര് യാഗപീഠപ്രതിഷ്ഠ കൊണ്ടാടി, ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവവും ആചരിച്ചു.

9. On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly, having observed the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival for seven days.

10. ഏഴാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാം തീയ്യതി അവന് ജനത്തെ യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്നും ശലോമോന്നും തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും ചെയ്ത നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവും ഉള്ളവരായി അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

10. Then, on the twenty-third day of the seventh month, he sent the people away to their tents full of joy and glad of heart for all the goodness ADONAI had shown to David, to Shlomo and to Isra'el his people.

11. ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജധാനിയും തീര്ത്തു; യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും തന്റെ അരമനയിലും ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് ശലോമോന്നു താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് ശുഭമായി നിവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

11. Thus Shlomo finished the house of ADONAI and the royal palace. Everything that Shlomo had set his heart on making in the house of ADONAI and in his own palace he accomplished successfully.

12. അതിന്റെശേഷം യഹോവ രാത്രിയില് ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലം എനിക്കു യാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള ആലയമായിട്ടു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. ADONAI appeared to Shlomo by night and said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

13. മഴ പെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ആകാശം അടെക്കയോ ദേശത്തെ തിന്നു മുടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെട്ടുക്കിളിയോടു കല്പിക്കയോ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് മഹാമാരി വരുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്താല്,

13. If I shut up the sky, so that there is no rain; or if I order locusts to devour the land; or if I send an epidemic of sickness among my people;

14. എന്റെ നാമം വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു എന്റെ മുഖം അന്വേഷിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു തിരിയുമെങ്കില്, ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു കേട്ടു അവരുടെ പാപം ക്ഷമിച്ചു അവരുടെ ദേശത്തിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കും.

14. then, if my people, who bear my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.

15. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു കഴിക്കുന്ന പ്രാര്ത്ഥനെക്കു എന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിരിക്കയും എന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

15. Now my eyes will be open and my ears will pay attention to the prayer made in this place.

16. എന്റെ നാമം ഈ ആലയത്തില് എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് അതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയും എന്റെ ഹൃദയവും എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house, so that my name can be there forever; my eyes and heart will always be there.

17. നീയോ നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ്,നടന്നതുപോലെ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടക്കയും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്കയും എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

17. As for you, if you will live in my presence, as did David your father, doing everything I have ordered you to do, and keeping my laws and rulings;

18. യിസ്രായേലില് വാഴുവാന് നിനക്കു ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഇല്ലാതെവരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തെ സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

18. then I will establish the throne of your rulership, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, 'You will never lack a man to be ruler in Isra'el.'

19. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് തിരിഞ്ഞു, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

19. But if you turn away and abandon my regulations and [mitzvot] which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, worshipping them;

20. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്ത എന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നായി ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തെയും ഞാന് എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് ഒരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവും ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും.

20. then I will pull them up by the roots out of the land I have given them. This house, which I consecrated for my name, I will eject from my sight; and I will make it an example to avoid and an object of scorn among all peoples.

21. ഈ ആലയം എത്ര ഉന്നതമായിരുന്നാലും കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും അതിനെപ്പറ്റി സ്തംഭിച്ചുയഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ വരുത്തുവാന് സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

21. This house, now so exalted- everyone passing by will be shocked at the sight of it and will ask, 'Why has ADONAI done this to this land and to this house?'

22. അതിന്നു അവര്തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അവര് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദൈവങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവന് ഈ അനര്ത്ഥമൊക്കെയും അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

22. But the answer will be, 'It's because they abandoned ADONAI the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and took hold of other gods, worshipping and serving them; this is why [[ADONAI]] brought all these calamities on them.''
