1. ഞാന് സ്വതന്ത്രന് അല്ലയോ? ഞാന് അപ്പൊസ്തലന് അല്ലയോ? നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിനെ ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലയോ? കര്ത്താവില് ഞാന് ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തിയുടെ ഫലം നിങ്ങള് അല്ലയോ?

1. Am I not an Apostle? am I not free? haue I not seene Iesus Christe our Lord: Are ye not my worke in the Lorde?

2. മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്കും ഞാന് അപ്പൊസ്തലന് അല്ലെന്നുവരികില് എങ്ങനെയെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആകുന്നു; കര്ത്താവില് എന്റെ അപ്പൊസ്തലത്വത്തിന്റെ മുദ്ര നിങ്ങളല്ലോ.

2. If I be not an Apostle vnto other, yet doubtlesse am I vnto you: For the seale of myne Apostleship are ye in the Lorde.

3. എന്നെ വിധിക്കുന്നവരോടു ഞാന് പറയുന്ന പ്രതിവാദം ഇതാകുന്നു.

3. Myne aunswere to them that aske me, is this,

4. തിന്നുവാനും കുടിപ്പാനും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അധികാരമില്ലയോ?

4. Haue we not power to eate and to drinke?

5. ശേഷം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും കര്ത്താവിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും കേഫാവും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ഭാര്യ്യയായോരു സഹോദരിയുമായി സഞ്ചരിപ്പാന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അധികാരമില്ലയൊ?

5. Haue we not power to leade about a sister a woman as well as other Apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

6. അല്ല, വേല ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് എനിക്കും ബര്ന്നബാസിന്നും മാത്രം അധികാരമില്ല എന്നുണ്ടോ?

6. Either only I and Barnabas haue not power this to do?

7. സ്വന്ത ചെലവിന്മേല് യുദ്ധസേവ ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആര്? മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിന്റെ ഫലം തിന്നാതിരിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്? ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ മേയിച്ചു കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ പാല്കൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്?

7. Who goeth a warfare any time at his owne cost? Who planteth a vineyarde, and eateth not of the fruite therof? Or who feedeth a flocke, and eateth not of the milke of the flocke?

8. ഞാന് ഇതു മനുഷ്യരുടെ മര്യ്യാദപ്രകാരമോ പറയുന്നതു? ന്യായപ്രമാണവും ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നില്ലയോ?

8. Say I these thinges after the maner of men? or saith not the law the same also?

9. “മെതിക്കുന്ന കാളെക്കു മുഖക്കൊട്ട കെട്ടരുതു” എന്നു മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ദൈവം കാളെക്കു വേണ്ടിയോ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതു?

9. For it is written in the law of Moyses: Thou shalt not moosell the mouth of the Oxe that treadeth out the corne. Doth God take care for Oxen?

10. അല്ല, കേവലം നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി പറയുന്നതോ? അതേ, ഉഴുന്നവന് ആശയോടെ ഉഴുകയും മെതിക്കുന്നവന് പതം കിട്ടും എന്നുള്ള ആശയോടെ മെതിക്കയും വേണ്ടതാകയാല് നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതത്രെ.

10. Either sayth he it not altogether for our sakes? For our sakes no doubt this is written, that he which eareth, should eare in hope: & that he which tressheth in hope, should be partaker of his hope.

11. ഞങ്ങള് ആത്മീകമായതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിതെച്ചിട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഐഹികമായതു കൊയ്താല് വലിയ കാര്യ്യമോ?

11. If we haue sowen vnto you spirituall thinges, is it a great thing if we reape your carnall thinges?

12. മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് ഈ അധികാരം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു എത്ര അധികം? എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങള് ഈ അധികാരം പ്രയോഗിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന്നു യാതൊരു വിഘ്നവും വരുത്താതിരിപ്പാന് സകലവും പൊറുക്കുന്നു.

12. If others be partakers of [this] power [wherfore are] not we rather? Neuerthelesse, we haue not vsed this power: but suffer all thinges, lest we shoulde hinder the Gospel of Christ.

13. ദൈവാലയകര്മ്മങ്ങള് നടത്തുന്നവര് ദൈവാലയംകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നും യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യുന്നവര് യാഗപീഠത്തിലെ വഴിപാടുകളില് ഔഹരിക്കാര് ആകുന്നു എന്നും നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

13. Do ye not knowe that they which minister about holy thynges, eate of the thinges of the temple? And they whiche wayte at the aulter, are partakers with the aulter?

14. അതുപോലെ കര്ത്താവും സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നവര് സുവിശേഷത്താല് ഉപജീവിക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Euen so hath the Lord ordayned, that they which preache the Gospell, shoulde lyue of the Gospell.

15. എങ്കിലും ഇതു ഒന്നും ഞാന് പ്രയോഗിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ഇങ്ങനെ എനിക്കു കിട്ടേണം എന്നുവെച്ചു ഞാന് ഇതു എഴുതുന്നതും അല്ല; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്റെ പ്രശംസ വൃഥാവാക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് മരിക്ക തന്നേ എനിക്കു നല്ലതു.

15. But I haue vsed none of these thinges. Neuerthelesse, I wrote not these thinges, that it shoulde be so done vnto me: For it were better for me to die, then that any man should make my reioycing vayne.

16. ഞാന് സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എനിക്കു പ്രശംസിപ്പാന് ഒന്നുമില്ല. നിര്ബ്ബന്ധം എന്റെ മേല് കിടക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നില്ല എങ്കില് എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

16. For if I preache the Gospell, I haue nothyng to reioyce of: for necessitie is layde vpon me. But wo is vnto me if I preache not the Gospell.

17. ഞാന് അതു മനഃപൂര്വ്വം നടത്തുന്നു എങ്കില് എനിക്കു പ്രതിഫലം ഉണ്ടു; മനഃപൂര്വ്വമല്ലെങ്കിലും കാര്യ്യം എങ്കല് ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. For if I do it with a good wil, I haue a reward: but if [I do it] against my wil, the dispensatio is committed vnto me.

18. എന്നാല് എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം എന്തു? സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുമ്പോള് സുവിശേഷഘോഷണത്തിലുള്ള അധികാരം മുഴുവനും ഉപയോഗിക്കാതെ ഞാന് സുവിശേഷഘോഷണം ചെലവുകൂടാതെ നടത്തുന്നതു തന്നേ.

18. What is my reward then? Uerily that when I preache the Gospell, I make the Gospell of Christ free, that I misuse not myne aucthoritie in the Gospell.

19. ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാന് കേവലം സ്വതന്ത്രന് എങ്കിലും അധികംപേരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ദാസനാക്കി.

19. For though I be free from all men, yet haue I made my selfe seruaunt vnto all men, that I might win the mo.

20. യെഹൂദന്മാരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് യെഹൂദന്മാര്ക്കും യെഹൂദനെപ്പോലെ ആയി; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴുള്ളവരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴുള്ളവന് അല്ല എങ്കിലും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴുള്ളവര്ക്കും ന്യാപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴുള്ളവനെപ്പോലെ ആയി.

20. Unto the Iewes, I become as a Iewe, that I might win the Iewes: To them that are vnder the lawe, [I become] as [though I were] vnder the lawe, that I might win them that are vnder the lawe:

21. ദൈവത്തിന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണമില്ലാത്തവന് ആകാതെ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണമുള്ളവനായിരിക്കെ, ന്യയപ്രമാണമില്ലാത്തവരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ന്യായപ്രമാണമില്ലാത്തവര്ക്കും ന്യായപ്രമാണമില്ലാത്തവനെപ്പോലെ ആയി.

21. To them that are without lawe, [become] as [though I were] without lawe, (when I was not without law as parteyning to the lawe of God, but in the lawe of Christe) to winne them that are without lawe.

22. ബലഹീനന്മാരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ബലഹീനര്ക്കും ബലഹീനനായി; ഏതുവിധത്തിലും ചിലരെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും എല്ലാമായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

22. To the weake became I as weake, that I might winne the weake. I am made all thinges to all men, that I might at the least way saue some.

23. സുവിശേഷത്തില് ഒരു പങ്കാളിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് സകലവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

23. And this I do for the Gospels sake, that I might haue my part therof.

24. ഔട്ടക്കളത്തില് ഔടുന്നവര് എല്ലാവരും ഔടുന്നു എങ്കിലും ഒരുവനേ വിരുതു പ്രാപിക്കുന്നുള്ളു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളും പ്രാപിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ഔടുവിന് .

24. Perceaue ye not [howe] that they which run in a race, run all, but one receaueth the rewarde? So run that ye may obtayne.

25. അങ്കം പൊരുന്നവന് ഒക്കെയും സകലത്തിലും വര്ജ്ജനം ആചരിക്കുന്നു. അതോ, അവര് വാടുന്ന കിരീടവും നാമോ വാടാത്തതും പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

25. Euery man that proueth maisteries, abstayneth from all thynges, and they [do it] to obtayne a crowne that shall perishe: but we to obtayne an euerlasting crowne.

26. ആകയാല് ഞാന് നിശ്ചയമില്ലാത്തവണ്ണമല്ല ഔടുന്നതു; ആകാശത്തെ കുത്തുന്നതു പോലെയല്ല ഞാന് മുഷ്ടിയുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

26. I therfore so run, not as at an vncertayne thing: So fight I, not as one that beateth the ayre.

27. മറ്റുള്ളവരോടു പ്രസംഗിച്ചശേഷം ഞാന് തന്നേ കൊള്ളരുതാത്തവനായി പോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ ശരീരത്തെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു അടിമയാക്കുകയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

27. But I tame my body, and bryng it into subiection, lest by any meanes, that when I haue preached to other, I my selfe shoulde be a castaway.
