1. The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, King of Israel:

2. ജ്ഞാനവും പ്രബോധനവും പ്രാപിപ്പാനും വിവേകവചനങ്ങളെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പാനും

2. For the knowledge of wisdom and correction, for discerning the sayings of intelligence;

3. പരിജ്ഞാനം, നീതി, ന്യായം, നേര് എന്നിവെക്കായി പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനും

3. For receiving the correction of prudence, righteousness and justice, and equity;

4. അല്പബുദ്ധികള്ക്കു സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയും ബാലന്നു പരിജ്ഞാനവും വകതിരിവും നലകുവാനും

4. For giving To the simple shrewdness, To the young man, knowledge and discretion.

5. ജ്ഞാനി കേട്ടിട്ടു വിദ്യാഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിപ്പാനും, ബുദ്ധിമാന് സദുപദേശം സമ്പാദിപ്പാനും

5. A wise man, will hear, and will increase learning, and a, discreet man, wise counsels, will acquire,

6. സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങളും അലങ്കാരവചനങ്ങളും ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മൊഴികളും കടങ്കഥകളും മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാനും അവ ഉതകുന്നു.

6. By gaining discernment of proverb, and satire, the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7. യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭമാകുന്നു; ഭോഷന്മാരോ ജ്ഞാനവും പ്രബോധനവും നിരസിക്കുന്നു.

7. The reverence of Yahweh, is the beginning of knowledge, Wisdom and correction, the foolish have despised.

8. മകനേ, അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം കേള്ക്ക. അമ്മയുടെ ഉപദേശം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയുമരുതു;

8. Hear, my son, the correction of thy father, and do not reject the instruction of thy mother;

9. അവ നിന്റെ ശിരസ്സിന്നു അലങ്കാരമാലയും നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിന്നു സരപ്പളിയും ആയിരിക്കും.

9. For, a wreath of beauty, shall they be to thy head, and chains of ornament, to thy neck.

10. മകനേ, പാപികള് നിന്നെ വശീകരിച്ചാല് വഴിപ്പെട്ടുപോകരുതു.

10. My son, if sinners entice thee, do not consent.

11. ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വരിക; നാം രക്തത്തിന്നായി പതിയിരിക്ക; നിര്ദ്ദോഷിയെ കാരണം കൂടാതെ പിടിപ്പാന് ഒളിച്ചിരിക്ക.

11. If they say Come with us, Let us lie in wait for blood, Let us watch in secret for him who is needlessly innocent;

12. പാതാളംപോലെ അവരെ ജീവനോടെയും കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ അവരെ സര്വ്വാംഗമായും വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളക.

12. Let us engulf them, like hades, alive, While in health, like them who are going down to the pit;

13. നമുക്കു വലിയേറിയ സമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും കിട്ടും; നമ്മുടെ വീടുകളെ കൊള്ളകൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കാം.

13. All costly substance, shall we find, We shall fill our houses with spoil;

14. നിനക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ സമാംശം കിട്ടും; നമുക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും സഞ്ചി ഒന്നായിരിക്കും; എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര് പറഞ്ഞാല്;

14. Thy lot, shalt thou cast into our midst, One purse, shall there be, for us all.

15. മകനേ, നീ അവരുടെ വഴിക്കു പോകരുതു; നിന്റെ കാല് അവരുടെ പാതയില് വെക്കയുമരുതു.

15. My son, do not walk in the way with them, Withhold thy foot from their path.

16. അവരുടെ കാല് ദോഷം ചെയ്വാന് ഔടുന്നു; രക്തം ചൊരിയിപ്പാന് അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു.
റോമർ 3:15-17

16. For, their feet, to mischief, do run, and haste to the shedding of blood.

17. പക്ഷി കാണ്കെ വലവിരിക്കുന്നതു വ്യര്ത്ഥമല്ലോ.

17. Surely, in vain, is spread the net, in the sight of aught that hath wings!

18. അവര് സ്വന്ത രക്തത്തിന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വന്തപ്രാണഹാനിക്കായി ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. Yet, they, for their own blood, lie in wait, They watch in secret for their own life.

19. ദുരാഗ്രഹികളായ ഏവരുടെയും വഴികള് അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ; അതു അവരുടെ ജീവനെ എടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

19. Such are the ways of every one that graspeth with greed, The life of the owners thereof, it taketh away!

20. ജ്ഞാനമായവള് വീഥിയില് ഘോഷിക്കുന്നു; വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു സ്വരം കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നു.

20. Wisdom, in the open place, soundeth forth, in the broadways, she raiseth her voice;

21. അവള് ആരവമുള്ള തെരുക്കളുടെ തലെക്കല് നിന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു; നഗരദ്വാരങ്ങളിലും നഗരത്തിന്നകത്തും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു

21. At the head of bustling streets, she crieth aloud, at the openings of the gates in the city her sayings, she doth utter:

22. ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, നിങ്ങള് ബുദ്ധീഹിനതയില് രസിക്കയും പരിഹാസികളേ, നിങ്ങള് പരിഹാസത്തില് സന്തോഷിക്കയും ഭോഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് പരിജ്ഞാനത്തെ വെറുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എത്രത്തോളം?

22. How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and, scoffers, in scoffing, delight them? and, dullards, hate knowledge?

23. എന്റെ ശാസനെക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് ; ഞാന് എന്റെ മനസ്സു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പൊഴിച്ചു തരും; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കും.

23. Will ye turn, at my reproof? Lo! I will pour out to you my spirit, I will make known my words to you.

24. ഞാന് വിളിച്ചിട്ടു നിങ്ങള് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെയും ഞാന് കൈ നീട്ടീട്ടു ആരും കൂട്ടാക്കാതെയും

24. Because I called, and ye refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one regarded;

25. നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ആലോചന ഒക്കെയും ത്യജിച്ചുകളകയും എന്റെ ശാസനയെ ഒട്ടും അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു

25. But ye dismissed all my counsel, and, to my rebuke, would not yield,

26. ഞാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് ചിരിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭവിക്കുമ്പോള് പരിഹസിക്കും.

26. I also, at your calamity, will laugh, I will mock, when cometh your dread;

27. നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കൊടുങ്കാറ്റുപോലെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആപത്തു ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെയും വരുമ്പോള്, കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വരുമ്പോള് തന്നേ.

27. When cometh as a crashing your dread, and, your calamity, as a storm-wind, overtaketh, when there come upon you, distress and anguish.

28. അപ്പോള് അവര് എന്നെ വിളിക്കും; ഞാന് ഉത്തരം പറകയില്ല. എന്നെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കും; കണ്ടെത്തുകയുമില്ല.

28. Then, will they call me, but I will not answer, they will seek me diligently, but shall not find me.

29. അവര് പരിജ്ഞാനത്തെ വെറുത്തല്ലോ; യഹോവാഭക്തിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതുമില്ല.

29. Because they hated knowledge, and, the reverence of Yahweh, did not choose;

30. അവര് എന്റെ ആലോചന അനുസരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ ശാസന ഒക്കെയും നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു

30. Consented not to my counsel, disdained all my rebuke,

31. അവര് സ്വന്തവഴിയുടെ ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ ആലോചനകളാല് തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

31. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and, with their own counsels, be filled.

32. ബുദ്ധിഹീനരുടെ പിന്മാറ്റം അവരെ കൊല്ലും; ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ നിശ്ചിന്ത അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

32. For, the turning away of the simple, will slay them, and, the carelessness of dullards, will destroy them.

33. എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കുന്നവനോ നിര്ഭയം വസിക്കയും ദോഷഭയം കൂടാതെ സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

33. Whereas, he that hearkeneth unto me, shall dwell safely, and be at rest, without dread of misfortune.
