1. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായി ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന്റെ സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങള്.

1. The parablis of Salomon, the sone of Dauid, king of Israel;

2. ജ്ഞാനവും പ്രബോധനവും പ്രാപിപ്പാനും വിവേകവചനങ്ങളെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പാനും

2. to kunne wisdom and kunnyng;

3. പരിജ്ഞാനം, നീതി, ന്യായം, നേര് എന്നിവെക്കായി പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനും

3. to vndurstonde the wordis of prudence; and to take the lernyng of teching; to take riytfulnesse, and dom, and equyte;

4. അല്പബുദ്ധികള്ക്കു സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയും ബാലന്നു പരിജ്ഞാനവും വകതിരിവും നലകുവാനും

4. that felnesse be youun to litle children, and kunnyng, and vndurstonding to a yong wexynge man.

5. ജ്ഞാനി കേട്ടിട്ടു വിദ്യാഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിപ്പാനും, ബുദ്ധിമാന് സദുപദേശം സമ്പാദിപ്പാനും

5. A wise man heringe schal be wisere; and a man vndurstondinge schal holde gouernails.

6. സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങളും അലങ്കാരവചനങ്ങളും ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മൊഴികളും കടങ്കഥകളും മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാനും അവ ഉതകുന്നു.

6. He schal perseyue a parable, and expownyng; the wordis of wise men, and the derk figuratif spechis of hem.

7. യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭമാകുന്നു; ഭോഷന്മാരോ ജ്ഞാനവും പ്രബോധനവും നിരസിക്കുന്നു.

7. The drede of the Lord is the bigynning of wisdom; foolis dispisen wisdom and teching.

8. മകനേ, അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം കേള്ക്ക. അമ്മയുടെ ഉപദേശം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയുമരുതു;

8. My sone, here thou the teching of thi fadir, and forsake thou not the lawe of thi modir;

9. അവ നിന്റെ ശിരസ്സിന്നു അലങ്കാരമാലയും നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിന്നു സരപ്പളിയും ആയിരിക്കും.

9. that grace be addid, ethir encreessid, to thin heed, and a bie to thi necke.

10. മകനേ, പാപികള് നിന്നെ വശീകരിച്ചാല് വഴിപ്പെട്ടുപോകരുതു.

10. Mi sone, if synneris flateren thee, assente thou not to hem.

11. ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വരിക; നാം രക്തത്തിന്നായി പതിയിരിക്ക; നിര്ദ്ദോഷിയെ കാരണം കൂടാതെ പിടിപ്പാന് ഒളിച്ചിരിക്ക.

11. If thei seien, Come thou with vs, sette we aspies to blood, hide we snaris of disseitis ayens an innocent without cause;

12. പാതാളംപോലെ അവരെ ജീവനോടെയും കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ അവരെ സര്വ്വാംഗമായും വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളക.

12. swolowe we him, as helle swolowith a man lyuynge; and al hool, as goynge doun in to a lake; we schulen fynde al preciouse catel,

13. നമുക്കു വലിയേറിയ സമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും കിട്ടും; നമ്മുടെ വീടുകളെ കൊള്ളകൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കാം.

13. we schulen fille oure housis with spuylis; sende thou lot with vs,

14. നിനക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ സമാംശം കിട്ടും; നമുക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും സഞ്ചി ഒന്നായിരിക്കും; എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര് പറഞ്ഞാല്;

14. o purs be of vs alle;

15. മകനേ, നീ അവരുടെ വഴിക്കു പോകരുതു; നിന്റെ കാല് അവരുടെ പാതയില് വെക്കയുമരുതു.

15. my sone, go thou not with hem; forbede thi foot fro the pathis of hem.

16. അവരുടെ കാല് ദോഷം ചെയ്വാന് ഔടുന്നു; രക്തം ചൊരിയിപ്പാന് അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു.
റോമർ 3:15-17

16. For the feet of hem rennen to yuel; and thei hasten to schede out blood.

17. പക്ഷി കാണ്കെ വലവിരിക്കുന്നതു വ്യര്ത്ഥമല്ലോ.

17. But a net is leid in veyn bifore the iyen of briddis, that han wengis.

18. അവര് സ്വന്ത രക്തത്തിന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വന്തപ്രാണഹാനിക്കായി ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. Also `thilke wickid disseyueris setten aspies ayens her owne blood; and maken redi fraudis ayens her soulis.

19. ദുരാഗ്രഹികളായ ഏവരുടെയും വഴികള് അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ; അതു അവരുടെ ജീവനെ എടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

19. So the pathis of ech auerouse man rauyschen the soulis of hem that welden.

20. ജ്ഞാനമായവള് വീഥിയില് ഘോഷിക്കുന്നു; വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു സ്വരം കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നു.

20. Wisdom prechith with outforth; in stretis it yyueth his vois.

21. അവള് ആരവമുള്ള തെരുക്കളുടെ തലെക്കല് നിന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു; നഗരദ്വാരങ്ങളിലും നഗരത്തിന്നകത്തും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു

21. It crieth ofte in the heed of cumpenyes; in the leeues of yatis of the citee it bringith forth hise wordis,

22. ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, നിങ്ങള് ബുദ്ധീഹിനതയില് രസിക്കയും പരിഹാസികളേ, നിങ്ങള് പരിഹാസത്തില് സന്തോഷിക്കയും ഭോഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് പരിജ്ഞാനത്തെ വെറുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എത്രത്തോളം?

22. and seith, Hou long, ye litle men in wit, louen yong childhod, and foolis schulen coueyte tho thingis, that ben harmful to hem silf, and vnprudent men schulen hate kunnyng?

23. എന്റെ ശാസനെക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് ; ഞാന് എന്റെ മനസ്സു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പൊഴിച്ചു തരും; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കും.

23. Be ye conuertid at my repreuyng; lo, Y schal profre forth to you my spirit, and Y schal schewe my wordis.

24. ഞാന് വിളിച്ചിട്ടു നിങ്ങള് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെയും ഞാന് കൈ നീട്ടീട്ടു ആരും കൂട്ടാക്കാതെയും

24. For Y clepide, and ye forsoken; Y helde forth myn hond, and noon was that bihelde.

25. നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ആലോചന ഒക്കെയും ത്യജിച്ചുകളകയും എന്റെ ശാസനയെ ഒട്ടും അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു

25. Ye dispisiden al my councel; and chargiden not my blamyngis.

26. ഞാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് ചിരിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭവിക്കുമ്പോള് പരിഹസിക്കും.

26. And Y schal leiye in youre perisching; and Y schal scorne you, whanne that, that ye dreden, cometh to you.

27. നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കൊടുങ്കാറ്റുപോലെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആപത്തു ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെയും വരുമ്പോള്, കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വരുമ്പോള് തന്നേ.

27. Whanne sodeyne wretchidnesse fallith in, and perisching bifallith as tempest; whanne tribulacioun and angwisch cometh on you.

28. അപ്പോള് അവര് എന്നെ വിളിക്കും; ഞാന് ഉത്തരം പറകയില്ല. എന്നെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കും; കണ്ടെത്തുകയുമില്ല.

28. Thanne thei schulen clepe me, and Y schal not here; thei schulen rise eerli, and thei schulen not fynde me.

29. അവര് പരിജ്ഞാനത്തെ വെറുത്തല്ലോ; യഹോവാഭക്തിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതുമില്ല.

29. For thei hatiden teching, and thei token not the drede of the Lord,

30. അവര് എന്റെ ആലോചന അനുസരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ ശാസന ഒക്കെയും നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു

30. nether assentiden to my councel, and depraueden al myn amendyng.

31. അവര് സ്വന്തവഴിയുടെ ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ ആലോചനകളാല് തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

31. Therfor thei schulen ete the fruytis of her weie; and thei schulen be fillid with her counseils.

32. ബുദ്ധിഹീനരുടെ പിന്മാറ്റം അവരെ കൊല്ലും; ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ നിശ്ചിന്ത അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

32. The turnyng awei of litle men in wit schal sle hem; and the prosperite of foolis schal leese hem.

33. എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കുന്നവനോ നിര്ഭയം വസിക്കയും ദോഷഭയം കൂടാതെ സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

33. But he that herith me, schal reste with outen drede; and he schal vse abundaunce, whanne the drede of yuels is takun awei.
