1. ആരും ഔടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിര്ഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. The wicked flee when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as [a] young lion.

2. ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവര് മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീര്ഘമായി നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. By the rebellion of the land, many [are] its princes, but by the man of understanding [and] wisdom the [land] shall remain stable.

3. അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

3. A poor man that oppresses the poor [is like] a sweeping rain which leaves no food.

4. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര് ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നു.

4. Those that forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them.

5. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

5. Evil men do not understand judgment, but those that seek the LORD understand all [things].

6. തന്റെ വഴികളില് വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാള് പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

6. Better [is] the poor that walks in his perfection than [he that is] perverse [in his] ways, though he [is] rich.

7. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകന് ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

7. Whosoever keeps the law [is] a wise son, but he that is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

8. പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

8. He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

9. ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

9. He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer [shall be] abomination.

10. നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവന് താന് കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയില് തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

10. Whosoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit, but the perfect shall inherit [every] good [thing].

11. ധനവാന് തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. The rich man [is] wise in his own conceit, but the poor that has understanding is wiser than he.

12. നീതിമാന്മാര് ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. When the righteous rejoice, [there is] great glory, but when the wicked rise, the sane man hides himself.

13. തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.

13. He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whosoever confesses and forsakes [them] shall attain mercy.

14. എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് അകപ്പെടും.

14. Blessed [is] the man that fears [God] always, but he that hardens his heart shall fall into evil.

15. അഗതികളില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യന് .

15. As a roaring lion and a hungry bear, [so is] a wicked ruler over the poor people.

16. ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. The prince void of intelligence [is] also a great oppressor, [but] he that hates covetousness shall prolong [his] days.

17. രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന് കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

17. A man that does violence to the blood of [any] person shall flee all the way to the grave, and no one shall sustain him.

18. നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവന് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

18. Whosoever walks in integrity shall be saved, but [he that is] perverse [in his] ways shall fall into one of them.

19. നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

19. He that tills his land shall be filled with bread, but he that follows after vain [persons] shall be filled with poverty.

20. വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷന് അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണന് ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

20. The man of truth shall abound with blessings, but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be absolved.

21. മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യന് അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

21. To have respect of persons [in judgment] is not good; even for a piece of bread, man will transgress.

22. കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവന് ധനവാനാകുവാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവന് അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

22. He that hastens to be rich [has] an evil eye and does not consider that poverty shall come upon him.

23. ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാള് ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.

23. He that rebukes a man, afterwards shall find more favour than he that flatters with the tongue.

24. അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവന് നാശകന്റെ സഖി.

24. Whosoever robs his father or his mother and says, [It is] no transgression; the same [is] the companion of the destroyer.

25. അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

25. He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് മൂഢന് ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. He that trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whosoever walks in wisdom, he shall be saved.

27. ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചല് ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

27. He that gives unto the poor shall never lack, but he that hides his eyes [from the poor] shall have many a curse.

28. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോള് ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവര് നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

28. When the wicked rise, sane men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous multiply.:
