1. ആരും ഔടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിര്ഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. Evil people run even though no one is chasing them, but good people are as brave as a lion.

2. ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവര് മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീര്ഘമായി നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. When a country is lawless, it has one ruler after another; but when it is led by a man with understanding and knowledge, it continues strong.

3. അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

3. Rulers who mistreat the poor are like a hard rain that destroys the crops.

4. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര് ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നു.

4. Those who disobey what they have been taught praise the wicked, but those who obey what they have been taught are against them.

5. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

5. Evil people do not understand justice, but those who follow the Lord understand it completely.

6. തന്റെ വഴികളില് വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാള് പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

6. It is better to be poor and innocent than to be rich and wicked.

7. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകന് ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

7. Children who obey what they have been taught are smart, but friends of troublemakers disgrace their parents.

8. പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

8. Some people get rich by overcharging others, but their wealth will be given to those who are kind to the poor.

9. ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

9. If you refuse to obey what you have been taught, your prayers will not be heard.

10. നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവന് താന് കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയില് തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

10. Those who lead good people to do wrong will be ruined by their own evil, but the innocent will be rewarded with good things.

11. ധനവാന് തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. Rich people may think they are wise, but the poor with understanding will prove them wrong.

12. നീതിമാന്മാര് ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. When good people triumph, there is great happiness, but when the wicked get control, everybody hides.

13. തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.

13. If you hide your sins, you will not succeed. If you confess and reject them, you will receive mercy.

14. എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് അകപ്പെടും.

14. Those who are always respectful will be happy, but those who are stubborn will get into trouble.

15. അഗതികളില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യന് .

15. A wicked ruler is as dangerous to poor people as a roaring lion or a charging bear.

16. ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. A ruler without wisdom will be cruel, but the one who refuses to take dishonest money will rule a long time.

17. രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന് കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

17. Don't help those who are guilty of murder; let them run until they die.

18. നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവന് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

18. Innocent people will be kept safe, but those who are dishonest will suddenly be ruined.

19. നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

19. Those who work their land will have plenty of food, but the ones who chase empty dreams instead will end up poor.

20. വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷന് അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണന് ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

20. A truthful person will have many blessings, but those eager to get rich will be punished.

21. മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യന് അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

21. It is not good for a judge to take sides, but some will sin for only a piece of bread.

22. കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവന് ധനവാനാകുവാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവന് അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

22. Selfish people are in a hurry to get rich and do not realize they soon will be poor.

23. ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാള് ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.

23. Those who correct others will later be liked more than those who give false praise.

24. അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവന് നാശകന്റെ സഖി.

24. Whoever robs his father or mother and says, 'It's not wrong,' is just like someone who destroys things.

25. അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

25. A greedy person causes trouble, but the one who trusts the Lord will succeed.

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് മൂഢന് ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. Those who trust in themselves are foolish, but those who live wisely will be kept safe.

27. ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചല് ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

27. Whoever gives to the poor will have everything he needs, but the one who ignores the poor will receive many curses.

28. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോള് ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവര് നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

28. When the wicked get control, everybody hides, but when they die, good people do well.
