1. ആരും ഔടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിര്ഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2. ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവര് മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീര്ഘമായി നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. When a land rebels it has many rulers; but with an intelligent ruler there is lasting order.

3. അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

3. A ruler who oppresses the poor is a beating rain that leaves no food.

4. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര് ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നു.

4. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law struggle against them.

5. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

5. The evil do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely.

6. തന്റെ വഴികളില് വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാള് പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

6. Better to be poor and walk in integrity than to be crooked in one's ways even though rich.

7. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകന് ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

7. Those who keep the law are wise children, but companions of gluttons shame their parents.

8. പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

8. One who augments wealth by exorbitant interest gathers it for another who is kind to the poor.

9. ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

9. When one will not listen to the law, even one's prayers are an abomination.

10. നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവന് താന് കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയില് തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

10. Those who mislead the upright into evil ways will fall into pits of their own making, but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance.

11. ധനവാന് തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. The rich is wise in self-esteem, but an intelligent poor person sees through the pose.

12. നീതിമാന്മാര് ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked prevail, people go into hiding.

13. തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.

13. No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

14. എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് അകപ്പെടും.

14. Happy is the one who is never without fear, but one who is hard-hearted will fall into calamity.

15. അഗതികളില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യന് .

15. Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

16. ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but one who hates unjust gain will enjoy a long life.

17. രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന് കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

17. If someone is burdened with the blood of another, let that killer be a fugitive until death; let no one offer assistance.

18. നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവന് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

18. One who walks in integrity will be safe, but whoever follows crooked ways will fall into the Pit.

19. നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

19. Anyone who tills the land will have plenty of bread, but one who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty.

20. വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷന് അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണന് ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

20. The faithful will abound with blessings, but one who is in a hurry to be rich will not go unpunished.

21. മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യന് അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

21. To show partiality is not good-- yet for a piece of bread a person may do wrong.

22. കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവന് ധനവാനാകുവാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവന് അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

22. The miser is in a hurry to get rich and does not know that loss is sure to come.

23. ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാള് ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.

23. Whoever rebukes a person will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.

24. അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവന് നാശകന്റെ സഖി.

24. Anyone who robs father or mother and says, That is no crime, is partner to a thug.

25. അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

25. The greedy person stirs up strife, but whoever trusts in the LORD will be enriched.

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് മൂഢന് ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. Those who trust in their own wits are fools; but those who walk in wisdom come through safely.

27. ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചല് ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

27. Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but one who turns a blind eye will get many a curse.

28. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോള് ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവര് നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

28. When the wicked prevail, people go into hiding; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
