1. ആരും ഔടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിര്ഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing [them], but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2. ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവര് മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീര്ഘമായി നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. When a land is in rebellion, it has many rulers, but with a discerning and knowledgeable person, it endures.

3. അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

3. A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.

4. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര് ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നു.

4. Those who reject the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law battle against them.

5. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

5. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand everything.

6. തന്റെ വഴികളില് വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാള് പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

6. Better a poor man who lives with integrity than a rich man who distorts right and wrong.

7. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകന് ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

7. A discerning son keeps the law, but a companion of gluttons humiliates his father.

8. പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

8. Whoever increases his wealth through excessive interest collects it for one who is kind to the poor.

9. ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

9. Anyone who turns his ear away from hearing the law-- even his prayer is detestable.

10. നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവന് താന് കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയില് തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

10. The one who leads the upright into an evil way will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good.

11. ധനവാന് തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has discernment sees through him.

12. നീതിമാന്മാര് ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. When the righteous triumph, there is great rejoicing, but when the wicked come to power, people hide themselves.

13. The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.

14. Happy is the one who is always reverent, but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

15. അഗതികളില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യന് .

15. A wicked ruler over a helpless people is like a roaring lion or a charging bear.

16. ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. A leader who lacks understanding is very oppressive, but one who hates unjust gain prolongs his life.

17. രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന് കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

17. A man burdened by bloodguilt will be a fugitive until death. Let no one help him.

18. നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവന് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

18. The one who lives with integrity will be helped, but one who distorts right and wrong will suddenly fall.

19. നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

19. The one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

20. വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷന് അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണന് ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

20. A faithful man will have many blessings, but one in a hurry to get rich will not go unpunished.

21. മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യന് അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

21. It is not good to show partiality-- yet a man may sin for a piece of bread.

22. കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവന് ധനവാനാകുവാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവന് അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

22. A greedy man is in a hurry for wealth; he doesn't know that poverty will come to him.

23. One who rebukes a person will later find more favor than one who flatters with his tongue.

24. The one who robs his father or mother and says, 'That's no sin,' is a companion to a man who destroys.

25. അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

25. A greedy person provokes conflict, but whoever trusts in the LORD will prosper.

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് മൂഢന് ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. The one who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.

27. ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചല് ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

27. The one who gives to the poor will not be in need, but one who turns his eyes away will receive many curses.

28. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോള് ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവര് നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

28. When the wicked come to power, people hide, but when they are destroyed, the righteous flourish.
