1. ആരും ഔടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിര്ഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. The wicked flee though no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2. ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവര് മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീര്ഘമായി നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. Because of transgression in a land, many are its rulers, but it is prolonged by a man who has understanding, who knows right.

3. അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

3. A poor man that oppresses the weak is like a sweeping rain that leaves no food.

4. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര് ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നു.

4. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them.

5. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

5. Evil men do not understand justice, but those seeking Jehovah understand all.

6. തന്റെ വഴികളില് വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാള് പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

6. Better is the poor walking in his integrity than the perverse of two ways, even if he is rich.

7. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകന് ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

7. He who keeps the law is a wise son, but he who is one feeding gluttons shames his father.

8. പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

8. He who multiplies his wealth by interest and usury, he shall gather it for him who pities the weak.

9. ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

9. Whoever turns aside his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer is an abomination.

10. നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവന് താന് കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയില് തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

10. He who causes the upright to go astray in an evil way shall fall into his own pit, and the blameless shall inherit good.

11. ധനവാന് തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but the discerning poor searches him out.

12. നീതിമാന്മാര് ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. When the righteous rejoice, great is the glory, but when the wicked rise, a man will be sought for.

13. തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.

13. He who covers his sins never prospers, but he who confesses and forsakes them shall have pity.

14. എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് അകപ്പെടും.

14. Blessed is a man who is in awe constantly! But he who hardens his heart falls into evil.

15. അഗതികളില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യന് .

15. The wicked ruler is a roaring lion and a ranging bear over a poor people.

16. ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. The ruler that lacks understanding even adds oppressions, but he who hates unjust gain prolongs his days.

17. രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന് കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

17. Any man oppressed with the blood of a soul shall flee to the pit; let them not uphold him.

18. നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവന് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

18. He who walks uprightly shall be saved, but he who is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

19. നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

19. He who cultivates his ground shall have plenty of bread, but one pursuing vanities shall have much poverty.

20. വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷന് അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണന് ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

20. A faithful man shall be full of blessings, but he rushing to be rich shall not be innocent.

21. മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യന് അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

21. To respect faces is not good, yea, for a man will transgress for a piece of bread.

22. കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവന് ധനവാനാകുവാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവന് അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

22. A man with an evil eye hastens after wealth, but he does not know that poverty will come on him.

23. ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാള് ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.

23. He who reproves a man afterwards finds grace, more than he who flatters with the tongue.

24. അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവന് നാശകന്റെ സഖി.

24. He who robs his father or his mother, and says, It is not a transgression, he shall be a partner to a man who corrupts.

25. അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

25. The proud in soul stirs up strife, but he who is trusting on Jehovah shall be abundantly satisfied.

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് മൂഢന് ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom shall be delivered.

27. ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചല് ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

27. He who gives to the poor shall not lack, but he who hides his eyes shall have plenty of curses.

28. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ഉയര്ന്നുവരുമ്പോള് ആളുകള് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവര് നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

28. When the wicked rise, a man hides himself; but when they perish, the righteous multiply.
