1. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം രാജാവിന്റെ പതിനെട്ടാം ആണ്ടില് അബിയാം യെഹൂദയില് വാണുതുടങ്ങി.

1. And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam reigned over Judah.

2. അവന് മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേര്; അവള് അബീശാലോമിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

2. He reigned three years in Jerusalem, and his mother's name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.

3. തന്റെ അപ്പന് മുമ്പെ ചെയ്തിരുന്ന സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും അവന് നടന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കല് ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നില്ല.

3. And he walked in all the sins of his father, those that he did before him, and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of his father David.

4. എങ്കിലും ദാവീദിന് നിമിത്തം അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവന്റെ മകനെ അവന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി ഉയര്ത്തിയും യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിലനിര്ത്തിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു യെരൂശലേമില് ഒരു ദീപം നല്കി.

4. But for David's sake Jehovah his God gave to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem.

5. ദാവീദ് യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; ഹിത്യനായ ഊരീയാവിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് മാത്രമല്ലാതെ അവന് തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതില് ഒന്നും തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും വിട്ടുമാറീട്ടില്ല.

5. For David did that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

6. രെഹബെയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മില് ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7. അബീയാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. അബീയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മിലും യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

7. And the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

8. അബിയാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവര് ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആസാ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

8. And Abijam lay with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And his son Asa reigned in his place.

9. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടില് ആസാ യെഹൂദയില് രാജാവായി.

9. And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam the king of Israel Asa reigned over Judah.

10. അവന് നാല്പത്തൊന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേര്; അവള് അബിശാലോമിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

10. And he reigned forty one years in Jerusalem, and his mother's name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.

11. ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

11. And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, like his father David.

12. അവന് പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാരെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി, തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന സകലവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

12. And he removed the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers made.

13. തന്റെ അമ്മയായ മയഖ അശേരെക്കു ഒരു മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു അവന് അവളെ രാജ്ഞിസ്ഥാനത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ആസാ അവളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം വെട്ടിമുറിച്ചു കിദ്രോന് തോട്ടിന്നരികെവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

13. And he also removed his mother Maachah from being queen, in that she made a horrid thing for Asherah. And Asa cut down her horrid thing and burned it by the torrent Kidron.

14. എന്നാല് പൂജാഗിരികള്ക്കു നീക്കംവന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും ആസയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവയിങ്കല് ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നു.

14. But they did not remove the high places. Only the heart of Asa was perfect with Jehovah all the days.

15. വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, ഉപകരണങ്ങള് എന്നിങ്ങനെ തന്റെ അപ്പന് നിവേദിച്ചതും താന് തന്നേ നിവേദിച്ചതുമായ വസ്തുക്കളെ അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

15. And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated and his holy things, into the house of Jehovah, silver and gold and vessels.

16. ആസയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മില് ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

16. And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

17. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശാ യെഹൂദയുടെ നേരെ വന്നു, യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ അടുക്കല് പോക്കുവരുത്തിന്നു ആരെയും സമ്മതിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാമയെ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

17. And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, to keep anyone from going out and coming in to Asa the king of Judah.

18. അപ്പോള് ആസാ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന എല്ലാ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും രാജധാനിയിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരവും എടുത്തു തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചു; ആസാരാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കില് പാര്ത്ത ഹെസ്യോന്റെ മകനായ തബ്രിമ്മോന്റെ മകന് ബെന് -ഹദദ് എന്ന അരാംരാജാവിന്നു അവയെ കൊടുത്തയച്ചു

18. And Asa took all the silver and gold that remained in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house, and gave them into his servants' hand; and King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, the king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

19. എനിക്കും നിനക്കും, എന്റെ അപ്പന്നും നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നും തമ്മില് സഖ്യത ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു സമ്മാനമായി വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും കൊടുത്തയക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രയേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശാ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ചെന്നു അവനോടുള്ള നിന്റെ സഖ്യത ത്യജിക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

19. A treaty between you and me, between my father and your father! Behold, I have sent you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha the king of Israel, that he go up from me.

20. ബെന് -ഹദദ് ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ അപേക്ഷകേട്ടു, തന്റെ സേനാപതികളെ യിസ്രായേല്പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കു നേരെ അയച്ചു ഈയോനും ദാനും ആബേല്-ബേത്ത്-മയഖയും കിന്നെരോത്ത് മുഴുവനും നഫ്താലിദേശമൊക്കെയും പിടിച്ചടക്കി.

20. And Ben-hadad listened to King Asa, and sent his army commanders against the cities of Israel. And he struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21. ബയെശാ അതു കേട്ടപ്പോള് രാമാ പണിയുന്നതു നിര്ത്തി തിര്സ്സയില് തന്നേ പാര്ത്തു.

21. And it happened, when Baasha heard, he ceased building Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

22. ആസാരാജാവു ഒരു വിളംബരം പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ യെഹൂദയെ മുഴുവനും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവര് ചെന്നു ബയെശാ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ച രാമയുടെ കല്ലും മരവും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ആസാരാജാവു അവകൊണ്ടു ബെന്യാമീനിലെ ഗേബയും മിസ്പയും പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

22. And King Asa proclaimed to all Judah (no one was exempt) and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber with which Baasha had built. And King Asa built with it Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23. ആസയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള സകല വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകലപരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന് പട്ടണങ്ങള് പണിതതും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. എന്നാല് അവന്റെ വാര്ദ്ധക്യകാലത്തു അവന്റെ കാലുകള്ക്കു ദീനംപിടിച്ചു.

23. And the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities he built, are they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

24. ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

24. And Asa lay with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of his father David. And his son Jehoshaphat reigned in his place.

25. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടില് യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മകനായ നാദാബ് യിസ്രായേലില് രാജാവായി; അവന് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം യിസ്രായേലില് വാണു.

25. And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa the king of Judah. And he reigned over Israel two years.

26. അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു.

26. And he did evil in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.

27. എന്നാല് യിസ്സാഖാര്ഗോത്രക്കാരനായ അഹിയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ അവന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി; ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്ക്കുംള്ള ഗിബ്ബെഥോനില്വെച്ചു അവനെ കൊന്നു; നാദാബും എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലും ഗിബ്ബെഥോനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

27. And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him And Baasha struck him at Gibbethon which belonged to the Philistines. For Nadab and all Israel had laid siege to Gibbethon.

28. ബയെശാ അവനെ യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില് കൊന്നു; അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

28. And in the third year of Asa the king of Judah, Baasha killed him, and reigned in his place.

29. അവന് രാജാവായ ഉടനെ യൊരോബെയാം ഗൃഹത്തെ മുഴുവനും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യഹോവ ശിലോന്യനായ അഹിയാവു എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം അവന് യൊരോബെയാമിന്നു ശ്വാസമുള്ള ഒന്നിനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ അശേഷം മുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

29. And it happened when he reigned, he struck all the house of Jeroboam; he did not leave Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him according to the saying of Jehovah which He spoke by His servant Ahijah the man of Shiloh;

30. യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്തതും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ചതുമായ പാപങ്ങള് നിമിത്തവും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതുനിമിത്തവും തന്നേ.

30. because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin by his provocation with which he provoked Jehovah the God of Israel to anger.

31. നാദാബിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

31. And the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Israel?

32. ആസയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മില് ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

32. And there was war between Asa and Baasha the king of Israel all their days.

33. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില് അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി തിര്സ്സയില് ഇരുപത്തുനാലു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

33. In the third year of Asa the king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty four years.

34. അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു. യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു.

34. And he did that which was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
