1. എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; പഴം പറിച്ച ശേഷമെന്നപോലെയും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിച്ചശേഷം കാലാ പെറുക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും ഞാന് ആയല്ലോ! തിന്മാന് ഒരു മുന്തിരിക്കുലയും ഇല്ല; ഞാന് കൊതിക്കുന്ന അത്തിയുടെ തലപ്പഴവുമില്ല.

1. It is bad for me! For I am like those who pick fruit and gather grapes. There are no grapes to eat, or any of the early figs that I want so much.

2. ഭക്തിമാന് ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു നശിച്ചുപോയി, മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില് നേരുള്ളവന് ആരുമില്ല; അവരൊക്കെയും രക്തത്തിന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനെ വല വെച്ചു പിടിപ്പാന് നോക്കുന്നു.

2. There is not a God-like person left in the land. There is no good person among men. All of them lie in wait to kill. Each one hunts the other with a net.

3. ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കൈ അതിലേക്കു നീണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രഭു പ്രതിഫലം ചോദിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായാധിപതി പ്രതിഫലം വാങ്ങി ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; മഹാന് തന്റെ മനസ്സിലെ ദുരാഗ്രഹം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് പിരിമുറുക്കുന്നു.

3. Both hands are very able in doing sinful things. The ruler and the judge ask for pay in secret to do what is wrong. The powerful man tells what he wants, and they all make plans together.

4. അവരില് ഉത്തമന് മുള്പടര്പ്പുപോലെ; നേരുള്ളവന് മുള്വേലിയെക്കാള് വല്ലാത്തവന് തന്നേ; നിന്റെ ദര്ശകന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞ ദിവസം, നിന്റെ സന്ദര്ശനദിവസം തന്നേ, വരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള് അവരുടെ പരിഭ്രമം വന്നുഭവിക്കും.

4. The best of them is like a thistle. The most honest of them is like a thorn bush. The day you have a watchman, you will be punished. Then their trouble will come.

5. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വിശ്വസിക്കരുതു; സ്നേഹിതനില് ആശ്രയിക്കരുതു; നിന്റെ മാര്വ്വിടത്തു ശയിക്കുന്നവളോടു പറയാതവണ്ണം നിന്റെ വായുടെ കതകു കാത്തുകൊള്ക.

5. Do not trust a neighbor. Do not put trust in a friend. Be careful what you say even with her who lies in your arms.

6. മകന് അപ്പനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; മകള് അമ്മയോടും മരുമകള് അമ്മാവിയമ്മയോടും എതിര്ത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് അവന്റെ വിട്ടുകാര് തന്നേ.

6. For a son does not honor his father. A daughter rises up against her mother. And a daughterin-law turns against her mother-inlaw. Those of a man's own house hate him.

7. ഞാനോ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു നോക്കും; എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കും.

7. But as for me, I will watch for the Lord. I will wait for the God Who saves me. My God will hear me.

8. എന്റെ ശത്രുവായവളേ, എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി സന്തോഷിക്കരുതു; വീണു എങ്കിലും ഞാന് വീണ്ടും എഴുന്നേലക്കും; ഞാന് ഇരുട്ടത്തു ഇരുന്നാലും യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിച്ചമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. Do not have joy over me, you who hate me. When I fall, I will rise. Even though I am in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

9. യഹോവ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി എനിക്കു ന്യായം പാലിച്ചുതരുവോളം ഞാന് അവന്റെ ക്രോധം വഹിക്കും; ഞാന് അവനോടു പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; അവന് എന്നെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കയും ഞാന് അവന്റെ നീതി കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

9. I will suffer under the Lord's anger, because I have sinned against Him, until He speaks for me and does what is fair for me. He will bring me out to the light, and I will see His saving power.

10. എന്റെ ശത്രു അതു കാണും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എവിടെ എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞവളെ ലജ്ജ മൂടും; എന്റെ കണ്ണു അവളെ കണ്ടു രസിക്കും; അന്നു അവളെ വീഥികളിലെ ചെളിപോലെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും.

10. Then the one who hated me will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, 'Where is the Lord your God?' My eyes will look on her, and she will be crushed under foot like mud in the streets.

11. നിന്റെ മതിലുകള് പണിവാനുള്ള നാള്വരുന്നുഅന്നാളില് നിന്റെ അതിര് അകന്നുപോകും.

11. It will be a day for building your walls. At that time your land will be made larger.

12. അന്നാളില് അശ്ശൂരില്നിന്നും മിസ്രയീംപട്ടണങ്ങളില്നിന്നും മിസ്രയീം മുതല് നദിവരെയും സമുദ്രംമുതല് സമുദ്രംവരെയും പര്വ്വതംമുതല് പര്വ്വതംവരെയും അവര് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരും.

12. In that day people will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, from Egypt to the Euphrates River, from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.

13. എന്നാല് ഭൂമി നിവാസികള്നിമിത്തവും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം ഹേതുവായും ശൂന്യമായ്തീരും.

13. The earth will be laid waste because of its people and the things they have done.

14. കര്മ്മേലിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ കാട്ടില് തനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ അവകാശവുമായി നിന്റെ ജനമായ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ നിന്റെ കോല്കൊണ്ടു മേയിക്കേണമേ; പുരാതനകാലത്തു എന്നപോലെ അവര് ബാശാനിലും ഗിലെയാദിലും മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ.

14. Shepherd Your people with Your power. Take care of Your chosen flock which lives by itself in the woods, in a field of much fruit. Let them eat in Bashan and Gilead as in days long ago.

15. നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട കാലത്തെന്നപോലെ ഞാന് അവനെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങള് കാണിക്കും.

15. 'As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt, I will show you powerful works.'

16. ജാതികള് കണ്ടിട്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ സകലവീര്യത്തിലും ലജ്ജിക്കും; അവര് വായ്മേല് കൈ വെക്കയും ചെകിടരായ്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. Nations will see and be ashamed of all their power. They will put their hands on their mouths, and will not be able to hear with their ears.

17. അവര് പാമ്പുപോലെ പൊടിനക്കും; നിലത്തെ ഇഴജാതിപോലെ തങ്ങളുടെ ഗുഹകളില്നിന്നു വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരും; അവര് പേടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് വരികയും നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

17. They will eat the dust like a snake, like animals that move along the ground. They will come out of their strong-places shaking with fear. They will come in much fear to the Lord our God, and they will be afraid of You.

18. അകൃത്യം ക്ഷമിക്കയും തന്റെ അവകാശത്തില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരോടു അതിക്രമം മോചിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിന്നോടു സമനായ ദൈവം ആരുള്ളു? അവന് എന്നേക്കും കോപം വെച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നില്ല; ദയയിലല്ലോ അവന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു.

18. Who is a God like You, Who forgives sin and the wrong-doing of Your chosen people who are left? He does not stay angry forever because He is happy to show lovingkindness.

19. അവന് നമ്മോടു വീണ്ടും കരുണ കാണിക്കും നമ്മുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും; അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും നീ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തില് ഇട്ടുകളയും.

19. He will again have loving-pity on us. He will crush our sins under foot. Yes, You will throw all our sins into the deep sea.

20. പുരാതനകാലംമുതല് നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തത നീ യാക്കോബിനോടും നിന്റെ ദയ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും കാണിക്കും.
