1. ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും തന്റെ അരമനയും ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം കൊണ്ടു പണിതശേഷം

1. It took twenty years for the LORD's temple and Solomon's palace to be built.

2. ഹൂരാം ശലോമോന്നു കൊടുത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളെ ശലോമോന് പണിതുറപ്പിച്ചു അവിടെ യിസ്രായേല്യരെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു.

2. After that, Solomon had his workers rebuild the towns that Hiram had given him. Then Solomon sent Israelites to live in those towns.

3. അനന്തരം ശലോമോന് ഹമാത്ത്-സോബയിലേക്കു പോയി അതിനെ ജയിച്ചു;

3. Solomon attacked and captured the town of Hamath-Zobah.

4. അവന് മരുഭൂമിയില് തദ്മോരും ഹമാത്തില് അവന് പണിതിരുന്ന സംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളുമെല്ലാം ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

4. He had his workers build the town of Tadmor in the desert and some towns in Hamath where he could keep his supplies.

5. അവന് മേലത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനും താഴത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനും മതിലുകളോടും വാതിലുകളോടും ഔടാമ്പലുകളോടും കൂടിയ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളായും

5. He strengthened Upper Beth-Horon and Lower Beth-Horon by adding walls and gates that could be locked.

6. ബാലാത്തും ശലോമോന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല സംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളും സകലരഥനഗരങ്ങളും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കുംള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേമിലും ലെബാനോനിലും തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തു എല്ലാടവും പണിവാന് ശലോമോന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതൊക്കെയും പണിതു.

6. He did the same thing to the town of Baalath and to the cities where he kept supplies, chariots, and horses. Solomon had his workers build whatever he wanted in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and anywhere else in his kingdom.

7. ഹിത്യര്, അമോര്യ്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലില് ഉള്പ്പെടാത്ത ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള സകലജനത്തെയും

7. Solomon did not force the Israelites to do his work. Instead, they were his soldiers, officers, army commanders, and cavalry troops. But he did make slaves of the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites who were living in Israel. These were the descendants of those foreigners the Israelites did not destroy, and they remained Israel's slaves.

8. യിസ്രായേല്യര് സംഹരിക്കാതെ പിന്നീടും ദേശത്തു ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന അവരുടെ മക്കളെയും ശലോമോന് ഇന്നുവരെയും ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരാക്കി.

9. യിസ്രായേല്യരില്നിന്നോ ശലോമോന് ആരെയും തന്റെ വേലകൂ ദാസന്മാരാക്കിയില്ല; അവര് യോദ്ധാക്കളും അവന്റെ സേനാനായകശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരും രഥങ്ങള്ക്കും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കും അധിപന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു.

10. ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രധാന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മേല്വിചാരകന്മാരുമായ ഇവര് ഇരുനൂറ്റമ്പതുപേര് ആയിരുന്നു.

10. Solomon appointed two hundred fifty officers to be in charge of his workers.

11. ശലോമോന് ഫറവോന്റെ മകളെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില്നിന്നു താന് അവള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പണിത അരമനയില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ അരമനയില് എന്റെ ഭാര്യ പാര്ക്കരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം അവിടെ വന്നിരിക്കയാല് അതു വിശുദ്ധമല്ലോ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Solomon's wife, the daughter of the king of Egypt, moved from the part of Jerusalem called David's City to her new palace that Solomon had built. The sacred chest had been kept in David's City, which made his palace sacred, and so Solomon's wife could no longer live there.

12. ശലോമോന് താന് മണ്ഡപത്തിന്നു മുമ്പില് പണിത യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല്

12. Solomon offered sacrifices to the LORD on the altar he had built in front of the temple.

13. അതതു ദിവസത്തേക്കു വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നതു പോലെ മോശെയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ശബ്ബത്തുകളിലും അമാവാസ്യകളിലും ഉത്സവങ്ങളിലും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഉത്സവത്തില്, വാരോത്സവത്തില്, കൂടാരങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സവത്തില് ഇങ്ങനെ ആണ്ടില് മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യവും യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെ കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു.

13. He followed the requirements that Moses had given for sacrifices offered on the Sabbath, on the first day of each month, the Festival of Thin Bread, the Harvest Festival, and the Festival of Shelters.

14. അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിയമപ്രകാരം പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ ക്കുറുകളെ അവരുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കും അതതു ദിവസം വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നതുപോലെ സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വാനും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാനും ലേവ്യരെ അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കും വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരെ അവരുടെ ക്കുറുകള്ക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം അതതു വാതിലിന്നു നിയമിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ കല്പന.

14. Solomon then assigned the priests and the Levites their duties at the temple, and he followed the instructions that his father David had given him. Some of the Levites were to lead music and help the priests in their duties, and others were to guard the temple gates

15. യാതൊരു കാര്യത്തിലും ഭണ്ഡാരത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ചും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും ലേവ്യരോടും ഉണ്ടായ രാജകല്പന അവര് വിട്ടുമാറിയില്ല.

15. and the storage rooms. The priests and Levites followed these instructions exactly.

16. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനമിട്ടനാള്മുതല് അതു തീരുംവരെ ശലോമോന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി ഒക്കെയും സാദ്ധ്യമായ്വന്നു; അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം പണിതുതീര്ന്നു.

16. Everything Solomon had planned to do was now finished--from the laying of the temple's foundation to its completion.

17. ആ കാലത്തും ശലോമോന് എദോംദേശത്തു കടല്ക്കരയിലുള്ള എസ്യോന് -ഗേബെരിലേക്കും ഏലോത്തിലേക്കും പോയി.

17. Solomon went to Ezion-Geber and Eloth, two Edomite towns on the Red Sea.

18. ഹൂരാം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്മുഖാന്തരം കപ്പലുകളെയും സമുദ്രപരിചയമുള്ള ആളുകളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; അവര് ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഔഫീരിലേക്കു ചെന്നു നാനൂറ്റമ്പതു താലന്ത് പൊന്നു വാങ്ങി ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

18. Hiram sent him ships and some of his experienced sailors. They went with Solomon's own sailors to the country of Ophir and brought back about seventeen tons of gold for Solomon.
