1. ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും തന്റെ അരമനയും ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം കൊണ്ടു പണിതശേഷം

1. It took Solomon twenty years to build the LORD's Temple and his own royal palace. At the end of that time,

2. ഹൂരാം ശലോമോന്നു കൊടുത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളെ ശലോമോന് പണിതുറപ്പിച്ചു അവിടെ യിസ്രായേല്യരെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു.

2. Solomon turned his attention to rebuilding the towns that King Hiram had given him, and he settled Israelites in them.

3. അനന്തരം ശലോമോന് ഹമാത്ത്-സോബയിലേക്കു പോയി അതിനെ ജയിച്ചു;

3. Solomon also fought against the town of Hamath-zobah and conquered it.

4. അവന് മരുഭൂമിയില് തദ്മോരും ഹമാത്തില് അവന് പണിതിരുന്ന സംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളുമെല്ലാം ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

4. He rebuilt Tadmor in the wilderness and built towns in the region of Hamath as supply centers.

5. അവന് മേലത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനും താഴത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനും മതിലുകളോടും വാതിലുകളോടും ഔടാമ്പലുകളോടും കൂടിയ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളായും

5. He fortified the towns of Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, rebuilding their walls and installing barred gates.

6. ബാലാത്തും ശലോമോന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല സംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളും സകലരഥനഗരങ്ങളും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കുംള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേമിലും ലെബാനോനിലും തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തു എല്ലാടവും പണിവാന് ശലോമോന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതൊക്കെയും പണിതു.

6. He also rebuilt Baalath and other supply centers and constructed towns where his chariots and horses could be stationed. He built everything he desired in Jerusalem and Lebanon and throughout his entire realm.

7. ഹിത്യര്, അമോര്യ്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലില് ഉള്പ്പെടാത്ത ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള സകലജനത്തെയും

7. There were still some people living in the land who were not Israelites, including the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

8. യിസ്രായേല്യര് സംഹരിക്കാതെ പിന്നീടും ദേശത്തു ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന അവരുടെ മക്കളെയും ശലോമോന് ഇന്നുവരെയും ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരാക്കി.

8. These were descendants of the nations whom the people of Israel had not destroyed. So Solomon conscripted them for his labor force, and they serve in the labor force to this day.

9. യിസ്രായേല്യരില്നിന്നോ ശലോമോന് ആരെയും തന്റെ വേലകൂ ദാസന്മാരാക്കിയില്ല; അവര് യോദ്ധാക്കളും അവന്റെ സേനാനായകശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരും രഥങ്ങള്ക്കും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കും അധിപന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു.

9. But Solomon did not conscript any of the Israelites for his labor force. Instead, he assigned them to serve as fighting men, officers in his army, commanders of his chariots, and charioteers.

10. ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രധാന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മേല്വിചാരകന്മാരുമായ ഇവര് ഇരുനൂറ്റമ്പതുപേര് ആയിരുന്നു.

10. King Solomon appointed 250 of them to supervise the people.

11. ശലോമോന് ഫറവോന്റെ മകളെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില്നിന്നു താന് അവള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പണിത അരമനയില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ അരമനയില് എന്റെ ഭാര്യ പാര്ക്കരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം അവിടെ വന്നിരിക്കയാല് അതു വിശുദ്ധമല്ലോ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Solomon moved his wife, Pharaoh's daughter, from the City of David to the new palace he had built for her. He said, 'My wife must not live in King David's palace, for the Ark of the LORD has been there, and it is holy ground.'

12. ശലോമോന് താന് മണ്ഡപത്തിന്നു മുമ്പില് പണിത യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല്

12. Then Solomon presented burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar he had built for him in front of the entry room of the Temple.

13. അതതു ദിവസത്തേക്കു വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നതു പോലെ മോശെയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ശബ്ബത്തുകളിലും അമാവാസ്യകളിലും ഉത്സവങ്ങളിലും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഉത്സവത്തില്, വാരോത്സവത്തില്, കൂടാരങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സവത്തില് ഇങ്ങനെ ആണ്ടില് മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യവും യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെ കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു.

13. He offered the sacrifices for the Sabbaths, the new moon festivals, and the three annual festivals-- the Passover celebration, the Festival of Harvest, and the Festival of Shelters-- as Moses had commanded.

14. അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിയമപ്രകാരം പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ ക്കുറുകളെ അവരുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കും അതതു ദിവസം വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നതുപോലെ സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വാനും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാനും ലേവ്യരെ അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കും വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരെ അവരുടെ ക്കുറുകള്ക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം അതതു വാതിലിന്നു നിയമിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ കല്പന.

14. In assigning the priests to their duties, Solomon followed the regulations of his father, David. He also assigned the Levites to lead the people in praise and to assist the priests in their daily duties. And he assigned the gatekeepers to their gates by their divisions, following the commands of David, the man of God.

15. യാതൊരു കാര്യത്തിലും ഭണ്ഡാരത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ചും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും ലേവ്യരോടും ഉണ്ടായ രാജകല്പന അവര് വിട്ടുമാറിയില്ല.

15. Solomon did not deviate in any way from David's commands concerning the priests and Levites and the treasuries.

16. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനമിട്ടനാള്മുതല് അതു തീരുംവരെ ശലോമോന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി ഒക്കെയും സാദ്ധ്യമായ്വന്നു; അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം പണിതുതീര്ന്നു.

16. So Solomon made sure that all the work related to building the Temple of the LORD was carried out, from the day its foundation was laid to the day of its completion.

17. ആ കാലത്തും ശലോമോന് എദോംദേശത്തു കടല്ക്കരയിലുള്ള എസ്യോന് -ഗേബെരിലേക്കും ഏലോത്തിലേക്കും പോയി.

17. Later Solomon went to Ezion-geber and Elath, ports along the shore of the Red Sea in the land of Edom.

18. ഹൂരാം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്മുഖാന്തരം കപ്പലുകളെയും സമുദ്രപരിചയമുള്ള ആളുകളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; അവര് ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഔഫീരിലേക്കു ചെന്നു നാനൂറ്റമ്പതു താലന്ത് പൊന്നു വാങ്ങി ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

18. Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own officers and manned by experienced crews of sailors. These ships sailed to Ophir with Solomon's men and brought back to Solomon almost seventeen tons of gold.
