1. യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ഉപമകളായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Yeshua again used parables in speaking to them:

2. “സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി കല്യാണസദ്യ കഴിച്ച ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.

2. 'The Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son,

3. അവന് കല്യാണത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാസന്മാരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവര്ക്കോ വരുവാന് മനസ്സായില്ല.

3. but when he sent his slaves to summon the invited guests to the wedding, they refused to come.

4. So he sent some more slaves, instructing them to tell the guests, 'Look, I've prepared my banquet, I've slaughtered my bulls and my fattened cattle, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding!'

5. അവര് അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ നിലത്തിലേക്കും മറ്റൊരുത്തന് തന്റെ വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നും പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

5. But they weren't interested and went off, one to his farm, another to his business;

6. and the rest grabbed his slaves, mistreated them and killed them.

7. രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു സൈന്യങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു ആ കുലപാതകന്മാരെ മുടിച്ചു അവരുടെ പട്ടണം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

7. The king was furious and sent his soldiers, who killed those murderers and burned down their city.

8. പിന്നെ അവന് ദാസന്മാരോടുകല്യാണം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ യോഗ്യരായില്ല.

8. Then he said to his slaves, 'Well, the wedding feast is ready; but the ones who were invited didn't deserve it.

9. ആകയാല് വഴിത്തലെക്കല് ചെന്നു കാണുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. So go out to the street-corners and invite to the banquet as many as you find.'

10. ആ ദാസന്മാര് പെരുവഴികളില് പോയി, കണ്ട ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെയും നല്ലവരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; കല്യാണശാല വിരുന്നുകാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

10. The slaves went out into the streets, gathered all the people they could find, the bad along with the good; and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11. വിരുന്നുകാരെ നോക്കുവാന് രാജാവു അകത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കാത്ത ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അവിടെ കണ്ടു

11. Now when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who wasn't dressed for a wedding; so he asked him,

12. സ്നേഹിതാ നീ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ഇല്ലാതെ ഇവിടെ അകത്തു വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാല് അവന്നു വാക്കു മുട്ടിപ്പോയി.

12. 'Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.

13. രാജാവു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരോടുഇവനെ കയ്യും കാലും കെട്ടി ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുട്ടില് തള്ളിക്കളവിന് ; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him outside in the dark!' In that place people will wail and grind their teeth,

14. വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് അനേകര്; തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ചുരുക്കം.”

14. for many are invited, but few are chosen.'

15. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര് ചെന്നു അവനെ വാക്കില് കുടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആലോചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു

15. Then the [P'rushim] went away and put together a plan to trap Yeshua with his own words.

16. തങ്ങളുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഹെരോദ്യരോടു കൂടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചുഗുരോ, നീ സത്യവാനും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി നേരായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുഖം നോക്കാത്തവന് ആകയാല് ആരെയും ശങ്കയില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

16. They sent him some of their [talmidim] and some members of Herod's party. They said, 'Rabbi, we know that you tell the truth and really teach what God's way is. You aren't concerned with what other people think about you, since you pay no attention to a person's status.

17. നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? കൈസര്ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

17. So tell us your opinion: does [Torah] permit paying taxes to the Roman Emperor or not?'

18. Yeshua, however, knowing their malicious intent, said, 'You hypocrites! Why are you trying to trap me?

19. കരത്തിന്നുള്ള നാണയം കാണിപ്പിന്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

19. Show me the coin used to pay the tax!' They brought him a denarius;

20. and he asked them, 'Whose name and picture are these?'

21. “എന്നാല് കൈസര്ക്കുംള്ളതു കൈസര്ക്കും ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിന്” എന്നു അവര് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. 'The Emperor's,' they replied. Yeshua said to them, '[Nu], give the Emperor what belongs to the Emperor. And give to God what belongs to God!'

22. അവര് കേട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

22. On hearing this, they were amazed; and they left him and went away.

23. That same day, some [Tz'dukim] came to him. They are the ones who say there is no such thing as resurrection, so they put to him a [sh'eilah]:

24. 'Rabbi, Moshe said, 'If a man dies childless, his brother must marry his widow and have children to preserve the man's family line.'

25. എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരില് ഒന്നാമത്തവന് വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം മരിച്ചു, സന്തതി ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സഹോദരന്നു വിട്ടേച്ചു.

25. There were seven brothers. The first one married and then died; and since he had no children, he left his widow to his brother.

26. രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും ഏഴാമത്തവന് വരെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

26. The same thing happened to the second brother, and the third, and finally to all seven.

27. എല്ലാവരും കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഒടുവില് സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

27. After them all, the woman died.

28. എന്നാല് പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവള് ഏഴുവരില് ആര്ക്കും ഭാര്യയാകും? എാല്ലവര്ക്കും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

28. Now in the Resurrection- of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all married her.'

29. അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങള് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെയും ദൈവശക്തിയെയും അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.

29. Yeshua answered them, 'The reason you go astray is that you are ignorant both of the [Tanakh] and of the power of God.

30. പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവര് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല, വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അത്രേ ആകുന്നു.

30. For in the Resurrection, neither men nor women will marry; rather, they will be like angels in heaven.

31. മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങള് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

31. And as for whether the dead are resurrected, haven't you read what God said to you,

32. 'I am the God of Avraham, the God of Yitz'chak and the God of Ya'akov'? He is God not of the dead but of the living!'

33. When the crowds heard how he taught, they were astounded;

34. but when the [P'rushim] learned that he had silenced the [Tz'dukim], they got together,

35. and one of them who was a [Torah] expert asked a [sh'eilah] to trap him:

36. ഗുരോ, ന്യാപ്രമാണത്തില് ഏതു കല്പന വലിയതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. 'Rabbi, which of the [mitzvot] in the [Torah] is the most important?'

37. യേശു അവനോടു“നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവിനെ നീ പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്ണ്ണാത്മാവോടും പൂര്ണ്ണ മനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

37. He told him, ''You are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.'

38. This is the greatest and most important [mitzvah].

39. And a second is similar to it, 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.'

40. ഈ രണ്ടു കല്പനകളില് സകലന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. All of the [Torah] and the Prophets are dependent on these two [mitzvot].'

41. പരീശന്മാര് ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു

41. Then, turning to the assembled [P'rushim], Yeshua put a [sh'eilah] to them:

42. “ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു?” അവന് ആരുടെ പുത്രന് എന്നി ചോദിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന് എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

42. 'Tell me your view concerning the Messiah: whose son is he?' They said to him, 'David's.'

43. 'Then how is it,' he asked them, 'that David, inspired by the Spirit, calls him 'Lord,' when he says,

44. “ 'ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠം ആക്കുവോളത്തിന്നു എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്ക' എന്നു കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ കര്ത്താവിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു” എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ. “ദാവീദ് അവനെ 'കര്ത്താവു' എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന്റെ പുത്രന് ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

45. If David thus calls him 'Lord,' how is he his son?'

46. അന്നുമുതല് ആരും അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാന് തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

46. No one could think of anything to say in reply; and from that day on, no one dared put to him another [sh'eilah].
