1. യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ഉപമകളായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And Jesus, talking to them again in stories, said:

2. “സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി കല്യാണസദ്യ കഴിച്ച ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.

2. The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who made a feast when his son was married,

3. അവന് കല്യാണത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാസന്മാരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവര്ക്കോ വരുവാന് മനസ്സായില്ല.

3. And sent out his servants to get in the guests to the feast: and they would not come.

4. പിന്നെയും അവന് മറ്റു ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചുഎന്റെ മുത്താഴം ഒരുക്കിത്തീര്ന്നു, എന്റെ കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും അറുത്തു, എല്ലാം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വരുവിന് എന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചുവരോടു പറയിച്ചു.

4. Again he sent out other servants, with orders to say to the guests, See, I have made ready my feast: my oxen and my fat beasts have been put to death, and all things are ready: come to the feast.

5. അവര് അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ നിലത്തിലേക്കും മറ്റൊരുത്തന് തന്റെ വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നും പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

5. But they gave no attention, and went about their business, one to his farm, another to his trade:

6. ശേഷമുള്ളവര് അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു അപമാനിച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

6. And the rest put violent hands on his servants, and did evil to them, and put them to death.

7. രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു സൈന്യങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു ആ കുലപാതകന്മാരെ മുടിച്ചു അവരുടെ പട്ടണം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

7. But the king was angry; and he sent his armies, and those who had put his servants to death he gave to destruction, burning down their town with fire.

8. പിന്നെ അവന് ദാസന്മാരോടുകല്യാണം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ യോഗ്യരായില്ല.

8. Then he said to his servants, The feast is ready but the guests were not good enough.

9. ആകയാല് വഴിത്തലെക്കല് ചെന്നു കാണുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Go then to the cross-roads, and get all those whom you see to come to the bride-feast.

10. ആ ദാസന്മാര് പെരുവഴികളില് പോയി, കണ്ട ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെയും നല്ലവരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; കല്യാണശാല വിരുന്നുകാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

10. And those servants went out into the streets, and got together all those whom they came across, bad and good: and the feast was full of guests.

11. വിരുന്നുകാരെ നോക്കുവാന് രാജാവു അകത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കാത്ത ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അവിടെ കണ്ടു

11. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a guest's robe;

12. സ്നേഹിതാ നീ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ഇല്ലാതെ ഇവിടെ അകത്തു വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാല് അവന്നു വാക്കു മുട്ടിപ്പോയി.

12. And he says to him, Friend, how came you in here not having a guest's robe? And he had nothing to say.

13. രാജാവു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരോടുഇവനെ കയ്യും കാലും കെട്ടി ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുട്ടില് തള്ളിക്കളവിന് ; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Then the king said to the servants, Put cords round his hands and feet and put him out into the dark; there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.

14. വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് അനേകര്; തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ചുരുക്കം.”

14. For out of all to whom the good news has come, only a small number will get salvation.

15. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര് ചെന്നു അവനെ വാക്കില് കുടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആലോചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു

15. Then the Pharisees went and had a meeting to see how they might make use of his words to take him.

16. തങ്ങളുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഹെരോദ്യരോടു കൂടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചുഗുരോ, നീ സത്യവാനും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി നേരായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുഖം നോക്കാത്തവന് ആകയാല് ആരെയും ശങ്കയില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

16. And they sent to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Master, we see that you are true, and that you are teaching the true way of God, and have no fear of anyone, because you have no respect for a man's position.

17. നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? കൈസര്ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

17. Give us, then, your opinion of this: Is it right to give tax to Caesar, or not?

18. യേശു അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത അറിഞ്ഞു“കപട ഭക്തിക്കാരേ, എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

18. But Jesus saw their trick and said, Oh false ones, why are you attempting to put me in the wrong?

19. കരത്തിന്നുള്ള നാണയം കാണിപ്പിന്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

19. Let me see the tax money. And they gave him a penny.

20. അവന് അവരോടു“ഈ സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചുതിന്നു കൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And he said to them, Whose is this image and name on it?

21. “എന്നാല് കൈസര്ക്കുംള്ളതു കൈസര്ക്കും ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിന്” എന്നു അവര് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. They say to him, Caesar's. Then he said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

22. അവര് കേട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

22. And hearing it, they were full of wonder, and went away from him.

23. On the same day there came to him the Sadducees, who say that there is no coming back from the dead: and they put a question to him, saying,

24. ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തന് മക്കള് ഇല്ലാതെ മരിച്ചാല് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ദേവരവിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു തന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

24. Master, Moses said, If a man, at the time of his death, has no children, let his brother take his wife, and get a family for his brother;

25. എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരില് ഒന്നാമത്തവന് വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം മരിച്ചു, സന്തതി ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സഹോദരന്നു വിട്ടേച്ചു.

25. Now there were among us seven brothers; and the first was married and at his death, having no seed, gave his wife to his brother;

26. രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും ഏഴാമത്തവന് വരെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

26. In the same way the second and the third, up to the seventh.

27. എല്ലാവരും കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഒടുവില് സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

27. And last of all the woman came to her end.

28. എന്നാല് പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവള് ഏഴുവരില് ആര്ക്കും ഭാര്യയാകും? എാല്ലവര്ക്കും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

28. When they come back from the dead, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? because they all had her.

29. അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങള് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെയും ദൈവശക്തിയെയും അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.

29. But Jesus said to them in answer, You are in error, not having knowledge of the Writings, or of the power of God.

30. പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവര് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല, വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അത്രേ ആകുന്നു.

30. For when they come back from the dead there are no husbands and wives, but they are as the angels in heaven.

31. മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങള് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

31. But about the dead coming back to life, have you no knowledge of what was said to you by God in the Writings:

32. ഞാന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് അരുളി ച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എന്നാല് അവന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമത്രേ.”

32. I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead but of the living.

33. And the people hearing it were surprised at his teaching.

34. സദൂക്യരെ അവന് മിണ്ടാതാക്കിയപ്രകാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാര് ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടി,

34. But the Pharisees, hearing how the mouths of the Sadducees had been stopped, came together;

35. അവരില് ഒരു വൈദികന് അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു

35. And one of them, a teacher of the law, put a question to him, testing him, and saying,

36. ഗുരോ, ന്യാപ്രമാണത്തില് ഏതു കല്പന വലിയതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. Master, which is the chief rule in the law?

37. യേശു അവനോടു“നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവിനെ നീ പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്ണ്ണാത്മാവോടും പൂര്ണ്ണ മനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

37. And he said to him, Have love for the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

38. ഇതാകുന്നു വലിയതും ഒന്നാമത്തേതുമായ കല്പന രണ്ടാമത്തേതു അതിനോടു സമം

38. This is the first and greatest rule.

39. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

39. And a second like it is this, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself.

40. ഈ രണ്ടു കല്പനകളില് സകലന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. On these two rules all the law and the prophets are based.

41. പരീശന്മാര് ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു

41. Now while the Pharisees were together, Jesus put a question to them, saying,

42. “ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു?” അവന് ആരുടെ പുത്രന് എന്നി ചോദിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന് എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

42. What is your opinion of the Christ? whose son is he? They say to him, The Son of David.

43. അവന് അവരോടു“എന്നാല് ദാവീദ് ആത്മാവില് അവനെ 'കര്ത്താവു' എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?”

43. He says to them, How then does David in the Spirit give him the name of Lord, saying,

44. “ 'ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠം ആക്കുവോളത്തിന്നു എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്ക' എന്നു കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ കര്ത്താവിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു” എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ. “ദാവീദ് അവനെ 'കര്ത്താവു' എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന്റെ പുത്രന് ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

46. And no one was able to give him an answer, and so great was their fear of him, that from that day no one put any more questions to him.
