1. യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ഉപമകളായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And Iesus aunswered, and spake vnto them againe by parables, and sayde:

2. “സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി കല്യാണസദ്യ കഴിച്ച ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.

2. The kyngdome of heauen is lyke vnto a man that was a kyng, which made a mariage for his sonne.

3. അവന് കല്യാണത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാസന്മാരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവര്ക്കോ വരുവാന് മനസ്സായില്ല.

3. And sent foorth his seruauntes, to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they woulde not come.

4. പിന്നെയും അവന് മറ്റു ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചുഎന്റെ മുത്താഴം ഒരുക്കിത്തീര്ന്നു, എന്റെ കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും അറുത്തു, എല്ലാം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വരുവിന് എന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചുവരോടു പറയിച്ചു.

4. Agayne, he sent foorth other seruauntes, saying: Tell them which are bidden, beholde, I haue prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fatlynges are kylled, and all thynges are redy: come vnto the mariage.

5. അവര് അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ നിലത്തിലേക്കും മറ്റൊരുത്തന് തന്റെ വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നും പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

5. But they made lyght of it, and went their wayes, one to his farme, another to his marchaundize:

6. ശേഷമുള്ളവര് അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു അപമാനിച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

6. And the remnaunt toke his seruauntes, and entreated them spitefully, and slewe them.

7. രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു സൈന്യങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു ആ കുലപാതകന്മാരെ മുടിച്ചു അവരുടെ പട്ടണം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

7. But when the kyng hearde [therof], he was wroth, and sent foorth his men of warre, and destroyed those murtherers and brent vp their citie.

8. പിന്നെ അവന് ദാസന്മാരോടുകല്യാണം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ യോഗ്യരായില്ല.

8. Then sayde he to his seruauntes, the mariage in dede is prepared: But they which were bidden, were not worthy.

9. ആകയാല് വഴിത്തലെക്കല് ചെന്നു കാണുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Go ye therfore out into the hye wayes: and as many as ye fynde, bid [them] to the mariage.

10. ആ ദാസന്മാര് പെരുവഴികളില് പോയി, കണ്ട ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെയും നല്ലവരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; കല്യാണശാല വിരുന്നുകാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

10. And the seruauntes went out into the hye wayes, and gathered together all, as many as they coulde fynde, both good and bad: and the weddyng was furnished with ghestes.

11. വിരുന്നുകാരെ നോക്കുവാന് രാജാവു അകത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കാത്ത ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അവിടെ കണ്ടു

11. Then the kyng came in, to see the ghestes: and whe he spyed there a man, which had not on a weddyng garmet,

12. സ്നേഹിതാ നീ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ഇല്ലാതെ ഇവിടെ അകത്തു വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാല് അവന്നു വാക്കു മുട്ടിപ്പോയി.

12. He sayde vnto hym: frende, howe camest thou in hyther, not hauyng a weddyng garment? And he was euen speachlesse.

13. രാജാവു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരോടുഇവനെ കയ്യും കാലും കെട്ടി ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുട്ടില് തള്ളിക്കളവിന് ; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Then sayde the kyng to the ministers: bynde hym hande and foote, and cast hym into vtter darknesse: there shalbe wepyng and gnasshyng of teeth.

14. വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് അനേകര്; തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ചുരുക്കം.”

14. For many be called, but fewe are chosen.

15. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര് ചെന്നു അവനെ വാക്കില് കുടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആലോചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു

15. Then went the Pharisees, and toke councell how they myght intangle hym in his talke.

16. തങ്ങളുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഹെരോദ്യരോടു കൂടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചുഗുരോ, നീ സത്യവാനും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി നേരായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുഖം നോക്കാത്തവന് ആകയാല് ആരെയും ശങ്കയില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

16. And they sent out vnto hym their disciples, with the Herodians seruauntes, saying: Maister, we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truely, neither carest thou for any man: for thou doest not respect mens persons.

17. നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? കൈസര്ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

17. Tell vs therfore, howe thynkest thou? Is it lawfull that tribute be geuen vnto Caesar, or not?

18. യേശു അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത അറിഞ്ഞു“കപട ഭക്തിക്കാരേ, എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

18. But Iesus perceauyng their wickednesse, sayde: Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

19. കരത്തിന്നുള്ള നാണയം കാണിപ്പിന്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

19. Shewe me the tribute money. And they brought vnto hym a peny.

20. അവന് അവരോടു“ഈ സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചുതിന്നു കൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And he sayde to them: whose is this image and superscription?

21. “എന്നാല് കൈസര്ക്കുംള്ളതു കൈസര്ക്കും ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിന്” എന്നു അവര് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. They say vnto hym, Caesars. Then sayde he vnto them: Geue therfore vnto Caesar, the [thynges] which are Caesars: and vnto God, those [thynges] that are gods.

22. അവര് കേട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

22. When they had hearde [these wordes] they marueyled, and left hym, and went their way.

23. പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന സദൂക്യരും അന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു

23. The same day came to hym the Saducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked hym,

24. ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തന് മക്കള് ഇല്ലാതെ മരിച്ചാല് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ദേവരവിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു തന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

24. Saying: Maister, Moyses sayde, that if a man dye, hauing no childre, his brother shoulde mary his wyfe, and rayse vp seede vnto his brother.

25. എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരില് ഒന്നാമത്തവന് വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം മരിച്ചു, സന്തതി ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സഹോദരന്നു വിട്ടേച്ചു.

25. Ther were with vs seuen brethren, and the first maryed a wyfe, and deceassed without issue, and left his wyfe vnto his brother.

26. രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും ഏഴാമത്തവന് വരെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

26. Likewyse, the seconde, and the thirde, vnto the seuenth.

27. എല്ലാവരും കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഒടുവില് സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

27. Last of all, the woman dyed also.

28. എന്നാല് പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവള് ഏഴുവരില് ആര്ക്കും ഭാര്യയാകും? എാല്ലവര്ക്കും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

28. Therfore, in the resurrection, whose wyfe shall she be of the seuen? For they all had her.

29. അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങള് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെയും ദൈവശക്തിയെയും അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.

29. Iesus aunswered & sayde vnto them: ye do erre, not knowyng the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

30. പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവര് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല, വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അത്രേ ആകുന്നു.

30. For in the resurrection, they neither mary, nor are geuen in maryage: but are as the Angels of God in heauen.

31. മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങള് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

31. But as touchyng the resurrection of the dead: haue ye not read that which is spoken vnto you of God, which sayth.

32. ഞാന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് അരുളി ച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എന്നാല് അവന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമത്രേ.”

32. I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the lyuyng.

33. പുരുഷാരം ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തില് വിസ്മയിച്ചു.

33. And when the multitudes hearde this, they were astonyed at his doctrine.

34. സദൂക്യരെ അവന് മിണ്ടാതാക്കിയപ്രകാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാര് ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടി,

34. But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Saducees to silence, they came together.

35. അവരില് ഒരു വൈദികന് അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു

35. And one of them, which was a lawyer, asked hym a question, temptyng hym, and saying:

36. ഗുരോ, ന്യാപ്രമാണത്തില് ഏതു കല്പന വലിയതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. Maister, which is the great commaundent in the lawe?

37. യേശു അവനോടു“നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവിനെ നീ പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്ണ്ണാത്മാവോടും പൂര്ണ്ണ മനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

37. Iesus sayde vnto hym: Thou shalt loue the Lorde thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy mynde.

38. ഇതാകുന്നു വലിയതും ഒന്നാമത്തേതുമായ കല്പന രണ്ടാമത്തേതു അതിനോടു സമം

38. This is the first and great commaundement.

39. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

39. And the seconde is lyke vnto this. Thou shalt loue thy neyghbour as thy selfe.

40. ഈ രണ്ടു കല്പനകളില് സകലന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. In these two commaundementes, hang all the lawe and the prophetes.

41. പരീശന്മാര് ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു

41. Whyle the Pharisees were gathered together, Iesus asked them,

42. “ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു?” അവന് ആരുടെ പുത്രന് എന്നി ചോദിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന് എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

42. Saying: what thynke ye of Christe? whose sonne is he? They sayde vnto hym [the sonne] of Dauid.

43. അവന് അവരോടു“എന്നാല് ദാവീദ് ആത്മാവില് അവനെ 'കര്ത്താവു' എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?”
2 ശമൂവേൽ 23:2

43. He sayde vnto them: howe then doth Dauid in spirite call him Lorde, saying:

44. “ 'ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠം ആക്കുവോളത്തിന്നു എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്ക' എന്നു കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ കര്ത്താവിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു” എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ. “ദാവീദ് അവനെ 'കര്ത്താവു' എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന്റെ പുത്രന് ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

44. The Lorde sayd vnto my Lorde: sit thou on my ryght hande, tyll I make thyne enemyes thy footestoole?

45. അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറവാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല;

45. If Dauid then call him Lorde, howe is he then his sonne?

46. അന്നുമുതല് ആരും അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാന് തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

46. And no man was able to aunswere hym a worde: neither durst any man (from that day foorth) aske hym any mo questions.
